I understand how you feel sir, but you have been very helpful on this thread, lagosismyhome has apologized and that should be the end of it
Let’s move on and continue to help each other whatever way we can
Please
fairheart:
You should know I will delete this account if need be. The thread will continue, but when you let people have their way in attacking the nature of an innocent soul like this, is that necessary? It hurts me to the bone to see those posts up.

I just log in some minutes ago, and I was reading from where I left it when I log off. It just hurts! Sharwama was just being herself; and I am just being happy we are here together like a family. I thought we were creating bond, and helping ourselves. I didn't know some people are not happy. Anyway, thank you for trying to cool this off. This will be my last post on this matter. God bless you!

Fairheart I respect you a lot sir and you are one of the most revered in this thread. Some parts of your response to lagosismyhome could have been left unsaid. It is totally unnecessary. One does not have to feel threatened by another person's existence in this thread. Both of you have willingly been helping applicants out without a dime from them. You guys even went as far as paying for some people's standardized test. Its normal to vent your anger but you should know lagosismyhome is a less controversial person. Please, let peace reign.

To the best of my knowledge, this thread is greater than anyone. No one is above correction.
@Lagosismyhome did the right thing and you are probably not going to understand since you're a guy.

So chill and let the message be driven home.

Seems you deleted your transcripts.
I think they have high expectations of MBA candidate. You should try and put your best foot forward, be very direct ( saying smaller size of class was why you chose the school wasn't really impressive). But she didn't really give you a chance to talk too.
All the best in your next attempt

I wish my visa was approved, my thinking will be how to give back to this thread and also move on in life.... cry

Now I'm left with no choice than to watch grown men and women argue over trivial issues... kai

But the truth be told I know the mod is also viewing this thread and any sight of unnecessary post and information will surely be erased by the mods.
So, I see no need to argue on this issue becus juswise is very active and can tell when a thread is bin derailed.. grin

My brother you don't need to get your Visa before helping others. No one has monopoly of knowledge.
You can still change the life of someone with the little you think you know.

The Indians someone talked about in my quote above, they are resourceful because they network and work together, same thing other Asians
But Nigerians?? Nahh our case is different

I’ve decided to rest my case and take the advice of others here... it will remain a dream and tbh I can do just fine on my own

However, as soon as I’m settled in school I will like to change the trend and mentor two people from this thread (intending applicants)

In 2017 I messaged lagosiamyhome by sending her a direct message through this platform
Told her my study plans, Infact I was already expecting I-20 from the school then
We exchanged a few emails that would swing my decision eventually and today I’ve reaped the rewards . She may not remember but I’m eternally grateful for the impact those 2 back and forth emails we sent each other has on me today
I turned down my admission and went back to dig deep and prepare better

That person I was in 2017 could be anybody here right now reading this!!
I want to be part of a success story and I want to mentor someone as much as I’m needed

This is a challenge to the rest of you? How many have you mentored and how many are you willing to mentor, it’s not easy to come here and scrutinize transcript true and that itself is a selfless service but for those who are capable, don’t shy from mentoring others not just academically but career wise
Like a wise man once said “ a little empathy goes a long way”
Let’s try to make the our worlds a better place by helping each other and guiding each other rightly and selflessly

I rest my case...
-
This is what i also have in mind, I was still thinking I will throw the suggestion outside once I got my visa too, it is so disheartening to hear how people feel about it due to past experience.

It is my believe that the Asians were able to turn their economy’s around due to the fact that they never forgot where they came from nor the importance of “community” and “our own type”. I understand that Nigeria is rotten and most claimed beyond control but again I believe with collective efforts we could change the narrative.

If what we all profess in our transcripts are right that means in the newest years we will be having a group of intellectuals who are more than enough to start the change, if you belong to the class of people who think it’s only the governments/politicians that failed Nigeria today I tell you,you failed her too.We can do these really we just have to stop Being self centered.
We might have the resources to process admission and get away but always think of your “brothers” and “sisters” that just want to get by another day hawking meager in traffic.

@poster I am interested in any feasible and productive ideas and connections with my kins!

Lagosismyhome thank for staying around.
Shawarma do not be annoyed, it’s all about women supporting women. I respect you two.

I had to go back to read the post that started all these ... it was blown out of proportion too quick

She was insulting me indirectly, not just Shawarma. Lagosismyhome is one of the only 4 or 5 people I follow on Nairaland. That is to tell you I also respect her and value her genuine contributions. I even read some of her comments on other threads cheesy. She is a good-hearted person, or else, she wouldn't be here assisting people she'll never meet in real life. I guess she misinterpreted the whole thing and did not mean any of it. The King and Queen thing is just to have fun and connect with the lady, because she's my kind. Funny enough, I have only talked with Sharwama like 3 times outside this thread; and trust me, she is one of those responsible and direction-oriented young women I've met on the internet.

It is just sad that those who have never done anything for anyone on this thread will use those comments to cut someone who's just being herself. I have edited my initial comment to show I am also a peace-loving person. Thank you for sharing this. I appreciate you!

Congratulations, I have been following your story. I am so happy for you, Thank God. Your story has given me hope, been on AP for 3 weeks now but I know one day very soon I will be issued my visa. Congrants once again, this is huge!!!!!!!1
Justabama:
Visa finally issued after 45 days of being placed on AP... No funding. 294 Gre scores and so many errors on my Ds160...

I would advise those out there to go all out and try it again, I was denied December 2018, March 2019 and approved June 2019, 3 interviews in the space of 6months( first 2 in lagos and last one in Abuja) and I got it the 3rd time... I remember the day I was first denied in lagos , I walked from Walter Carrington to Constain and I didn't even know where I was, I travelled same day all night cos I had to be at work the following day, it was a cold sad journey form lagos to Ondo state... I stopped believing in my dreams of studying in the US, i didn't even prepare for the last interview at all,my beards was unshaved, I wore a top that isn't good enough to wear to work on a good day and I honestly prepared myself to get the "am sorry you don't qualify" message from the VO, but nonetheless I prayed and I hoped..

Today it AP changed to Issued, after 45 days of tension, I have checked and checked a thousand times and today God did it. I appreciate everyone on this platform and I think we are really going a good job here, God bless everyone and for all those still on AP. Don't worry, your status will change soon... Off to Minnesota,

I didn't read Queen/King narration from her post. So no sir! Lagos never insulted you. I have said it earlier that if we properly situate her comment, it was referring to Sharwarma's transit experience yesterday. Never have I read her complain covertly or tacitly about Sharwarma's aura on the thread. It is the wannabes here, with due respect, who blew her comment out of proportion, apparently alluding to the playful relationship between Sharwarma and the rest of the contributors on the thread. I have read in between the lines and I see nothing but hate with every coloration of anger against her too, in their comments. We don't rise by hating on others. Let those affected keep this in mind.

Finally, let's leave the veteran matron out of all these escalations and mellow drama forthwith. She has already done noble by apologising and have earned my respect even more by that.

I don't do this, it's not my kind of talk but I will advise you and Sharwama not to fence yourselves with sword and shield. No need to blow things out of proportion especially among three respected individuals. Lagosismyhome is an exceptional individual who is out of the class of any rancour with anyone, she has demonstrated this over time. I think you and your queen should thrash this issue into the bin and berry the hatchet, move on with the great work ongoing in here. As a matter of fact, many young Nigerians need more help to achieve their respective goals and realise their dreams. Think of this, you guys would know that we all need to come together and render more help and forget about any wound/injuries sustained in helping others fulfil their destiny.
