Hello nairalander doctors and medical practitioners. A brothers needs an urgent help.

For about two years, I have been having a strange sensation in my left chest, may be my heart. It has always been a random occurrence and is not predictable at all, it is like a hard heart beat that comes suddenly and goes off too, it happens several times in a day. Doctors have called it palpitations but I'm finding it difficult to agree. It is not painful at all but somehow unpleasant and its burdensome, feeling as if my heart wants to burst.

I can't trace this symptom to anything, but I discovered recently that it subsides with enough sleep.
I was once diagnosed of anxiety neurosis and anxiety disorders when I discovered that my heart beat was way too fast per minute, well over 100 beats per minute. Since then I have been on a tablet called atenolol, I take about 25mg daily for close to three years now.

Then, I had an episode of what I can best call a panic attack, I ran to the hospital and was attended to, my heart beat was around 120/min that day and my Bp was 160/100 that same day. The doctor said I was hypertensive, but other doctors that attended to me after that day disregarded the diagnosis and told me to discontinue the hypertensive drugs prescribed to me.

It was latter that another doctor, a cardiologist, told me that I am suffering from anxiety disorders and recommended that I take the atenolol tablet of 25mg daily to calm my heart, I have been taking that regularly and my Bp has been around 130/90 to 140/90. I am a young man of 32 and have a very moderate weight, I am not fat, and not extremely slim.

I got to know recently that I have ulcer at two different points, I had always maintained to doctors that I don't have ulcer whenever they asked to guide their drug prescriptions. I assumed I didn't have until scan revealed it, I never recognised ulcer symptoms and thought I didn't have it.

Please nairalanders, I need answers...
What could be the cause of the thumping beat feeling in my chest?
Could it be due to High Blood Pressure, or ulcer or anxiety or a side effect of the atenolol tablet?
How safe is the atenolol tablet? I've been on it for close to 3 years.

I know I should see a doctor, I have seen several already, not less than ten and their answers have somehow been the same. But I'm not enjoying my health... Or are there things I still need to know?

Compliance,

Atenolol is a selective Beta-blocker drug that helps in controlling a high blood pressure. Other major features to which Atenolol is prescribable to someone having Arrythmiasis (either associating with or not high blood pressure). With the likes of Bisoprolol, Mesoprolol and others, it may fit in to avoid heart modeling due to an extensive poorly managed heart failure condition. Long term use significantly is less troublesome.

Now! Have you done ECGs of your heart?

Apart from knowing your HBP, what other thing have you done to confirm or rule out any perceive causes?

Thanks for your response sir/ma.

I have done my ECG and it came out normal, the cardiologist however named a term "partial right bundle branch block" which he called normal and can be found in healthy individuals.

I did my kidney function test and it was normal too, they discovered an ectopic right kidney of normal properties. They also said it is not uncommon in healthy individuals.

I did my urinalysis and it was fine too.

Please sir/ma, are there others necessary tests I still need to do? And I sincerely don't mind calling you if you will permit. And please is a long term use of atenonol safe for me?

Doctors in the house, I have been experiencing pain in the ear for a while, went to the hospital on Thursday, the doctor asked me a few questions and checked my ear, they discovered it was octomycosis, they gave me one anti fungel eardrop and told me to come back on Monday for ear washing, while I used the eardrop the pain stopped, yesterday I went back to the hospital for the ear washing, I was told me to come back in 6 weeks time. But the problem now is that I started experiencing small pain in the ear yesterday evening...and this morning I started experiencing occasional pain in the other ear, what could be the problem now, is this normal? I still use the eardrop though

Boss,

Was beaten by heavy rain about three weeks ago and ever since, I have had this fever. I went to FMC and was given Malaria treatment(Lonart) and this is after taking a Malaria drug before now.

Early this week after these treatments, I went for test again and Malaria one plus was diagnosed. I took Maladreich and three injections but the cold and fever continued. Had to be admitted and given several drips and drugs.

Was discharged just yesterday yet am not fully feeling OK. Had a very mild fever now though still taking Gvither tabs.

I am scareddddd

Malaria parasite one plus is not a serious problem, being an African and a Nigerian you are almost by all chances to possess that one plus whether sick or not. So that is not the problem.

You have just been discharge from the clinic, why not give the body time to recuperate. Weeks after a normal medication for Malaria fever, some of us still feels sick especially that low drive to do anything is killing. How much you will take to finally come to yourself is a matter of time and how long you have been ill or if the malaria is secondary to another condition or a complication arising from it. But you just have to beat it and focus on yourself and hope you are well. Go down to work and involve in the normal daily activities. Pooooom! When you are no longer noticing yourself, you just find that you are back to the normal you balling the street.

You will be fine. For the mild fever, just take Paracetamol and eat more of fruits and try much as you can to do little things around you. However, if there is no improvement withing 2-3weeks or it is getting worse before the these weeks, kindly see a doctor.

You may need to discuss with your doctor on changing your antijypertensive cause long term use of Atenolol has a chance to causing anxiety. This is rare and the anxiety could only surface on rare opportunities. Meanwhile, what were those tests you did for the kidney?

I have these very tiny painless pimples on my private part but not on the cap. One could barely notice it on flaccid state but visible in erect state. This is not STD matter cos its been there for years before I even know anything about sex. I've tried all these recommended anti bacteria creams but they're not working. What can I do about this?

2.
Am kind anxious person which have become very embarrassing for me. Sometimes even find it difficult to stand infront of my family and pray! My heart beats very fast whenever am position of expressing myself in public and it's getting out of hand. I've tried social groups and all that but they didn't work for me. Is there any medical way this can be solved? I don't want to be using hard drugs

When has this little papule being on your glans(cap)?
When did it become obvious you got a raised spot there?
Does it affect you in anyway?
Do you mind letting me have a view?

I don't think your anxiety or fright to expressing yourself is clinical and thus may not require medication of any sort to help this. You really haven't tried enough, that's just what it is. If you really want to improve in yourself there are enough of good books to read and YouTube videos to watch regarding this. I would advice you to start by using "WikiHow", search your "How can I... " from the search option carrying window. Enough things to do and practice will appear for you to study and practise. In the morning before going to work or classes, play YouTube videos on this issue. Try and practice what you have them thrown before and in 6months you will improve.
