Augburgs new singing sarenren, brugges duo of Okereke and Dennis as well as the capped duo of kalu and onyekuru are decent enough for us not to miss lookman.

Omo naija get players abeg, i don forget say dennis dey one side till you just remind me

Bazee is always injured, but the boy good, he is still in bundesliga, upon he didnt play games due to injury and his team was relegated.

Bazze is very good just that he has been unlucky with injuries. I hope he plays injury free this new season. He is another winger like Iwobi who can be deployed as an attacking midfielder as well

The positions we need more quality is the central defence, midfield and striking positions.

I pray Rohr can be able to lure tomori and uduokhai. Both with awaziem will be good understudy to omeruo, ekong and aging balogun.

In midfield we need atleast 3 midfielders to add to the duo of ndidi and etebo. John ogu should kiss the super eagles goodbye.

In attack, I pray nacho rediscover his MOJO, oshimeh and awoniyi to continue their development in their prospective new clubs.

Also Okereke plays as a top striker atimes

Aribo for me is a battler and hard man in the midfield similar to Ndidi not the most skilful and technically gifted he reminds me of a certain Etuhu that played for Nigeria.

Onomah and Eze are technicial gifted players with Onomah the better of the two for now, who can play as AM. Also you have Ovie who can not be ignored excelled in Glasgow Rangers in a league that's not as good as the Championship by a considerable stretch.

The dark horse that is going to suprise all of you this season in my speculative opinion is Chuks Aneke now at Charlton.
Aribo is quite good on the ball. He's a traditional two way b2b mid.
You are right about Chuks. I wouldn't mind seeing him in our Olympics team.

He is obviously too good for the championship.

Is there a tangible reason he isn't in a better club yet? I was thinking you may know why
A bit inconsistent. He was linked with a move to Spuds last season.

Manu Garba, when camping to start na?
charlesemeka85:
SV Eintracht Trier 05 wonderkid Armin Olayo has snubbed the opportunity to represent Germany and wants to pursue an international career with Nigeria, allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed.

Olayo was included in the Germany U16 squad for a winter training camp in Spain in February and was named on the standby list for a DFB screening tournament in Duisburg in May 2019.

The Nigeria Football Federation did not have to coerce him before he opted to play for Nigeria's youth teams and he already has a Nigerian passport ahead of a possible trip to Nigeria to join the Golden Eaglets.

The goalkeeper is on the radar of the Nigeria U17 coaches who are searching for players to beef up the squad before the resumption of camping for the U17 World Cup.

Olayo is a star in the making; he has the ability to read games, has good passing skills and positional awareness, and excellent reflexes.

In recent times, Nigeria youth teams have embraced dual-eligible players, with Adrian Akande and Joseph Oluwabusola making the roster for the U17 AFCON, while Tom Dele-Bashiru and Nnamdi Ofoborh played for the Flying Eagles at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.

Ebere Eze
I don't think Eze is an upgrade of Iwobi. Iwobi has played in a higher level consistently and well tested. That begs the next question, will he bring something different to the team? I don't think so.

Chuks Aneke
Calm and confident forward. Also very good with set pieces. However, we need to see him against tougher opposition to see if he can play at a high level at this time.

Josh Onomah
From what I've seen so far, I wouldn't recommend him to SE yet.

Joe Aribo
I think this is the only player who seems he can bring something that is lacking in the current SE. He is still developing, but he will definitely add something to the team.

komekn:

I am not an advocate of video clips as the main tool to asses players it is too easily contrived and manipulated to make players look better than they actually are. When i submit video clips i only submit 5-7 minute clips of individual games not merge 5/6 games into one clip to make you look like Neymar when you are more like Phil Neville.

Aribo is tough battling midfielder who has fought his way against all odds to get to where he is, he hant been schooled in the technical niceties of the game but he is a warrior and he is somewhat similar to Gerrard in his style of play. Now that's the pertinent phrase STYLE OF PLAY.

So i am going to put three Youtube videos of these 4 players Aribo, Eze, Onomah,
and Chuks which gives a clear indication of thier STYLE OF PLAY then you can answer the question which most suites the 9ja way or if you like historical organisation delivery ethos of the SE.

Belgium Jupiler League, Genk 2 – 1 Kortrijk: 3 Nigeria stars fail to shine
by Imhons Erons July 27, 2019 in News, Nigeria

The Belgium Jupiler League kicked off on Day 1 as RC Genk came from behind to snatch victory from the jaws of a stubborn Kortrijk side.

Abdul Ajagun and Imoh Ezekiel did their best but it was not enough to prevent visiting Kortrijk from suffering their first loss of the season to Genk who had Stephen Odey on the bench for the entire duration of the match.

Former Nigeria U-20 attacking midfielder, Ajagun started for the visitors as Kortrijk enjoyed a brilliant start, netting the game’s opener through Julien De Sart within the first quarter of an hour.

But the champions quickly wrestled the initiative from Kortrijk and pressed the away side back into their own half of the field.

Yves Vanderhaegbe’s men went into the break with the lead but Racing Genk were clearly the better side and it appeared a matter of when and not if the equalizer would arrive.

It came just five minutes after the restart with new signing Benjamin Nygren putting the finishing touch to a sweet attacking move. Debut goals are always a beautiful thing.

Kortrijk were stunned and sought to recover. First, Abdul Ajagun was withdrawn for Elohim Rolland in the 67th minute. A few minutes later Vanderhaegbe sent in Imoh Ezekiel to replace Ilombe Mboyo.

But it was the changes made by Genk’s coach, Felice Mazzu that would determine the outcome of the game.

Goalscorer Benjamin Nygren made way for Ianis Hagi with 15 minutes of regulation time left on the clock.

And within two minutes of being on the field, Ianis, son of Romania great Gheorghie Hagi, grabbed the winner with his first touch. He was also making his debut for the Belgian champions.

Stephen Odey will look to make his own debut when Genk line up next match. The Nigerian youngster was signed from FC Zurich last month after scoring 16 goals in all competitions for the Swiss team during his two-year stay.

Watching these players' YouTube review is good. But it doesn't tell the whole story.

We have seen countless players in the past flop despite having eye poping video reviews.

There was a time on this thread when peeps would rate players as "our best defender", "our best striker" or "our best Midfielder" based solely on 5mins video reviews. grin
Now we know better.

There will definitely be injection of new bloods into the Super Eagles but this cannot be solely based on these 3-5mins video reviews.

"My aim is to improve all the departments in the team. The most important ones are the goalkeeper and then the goal scorer, they are already two challenges now, we've been working on it for a long time now,"

"We knew the problem in the goalkeeping department before the AFCON, and that it could be a big problem at the AFCON.So, the bronze medal is really an achievement and we could have even gotten to the final. When you go to the history of winners of AFCON, you must be good in this position, you must be very good and I think we can be.

"So, for the goalkeeper position, we have MadukaOkoye, who plays for Dusseldorf; he will be a good one (keeper), I think."

For me it should be Uzoho, Okoye and Alampasu/any of the U23 goalies going forward. This trio can cope with the challenges of playing Benin, Sierra Leone and Lesotho. We need to start giving them the game time/ experience and confidence.

Any player that we don't think can make the next AFCON and WC IMO should be dropped now.

The strategy should be to use the 2021 AFCON qualifiers, 2022 WC qualifiers and 2021 AFCON to build a very formidable team for the 2022 WC. We should also win enough matches to boost our FIFA ranking so as to stand a chance of being placed in a higher seeded pot and by extension a relatively easy group.

No excuses for Rohr going forward. At least a Quarter Final for 2022WC and 2021 AFCON trophy should be the next yardstick for measurement for him.

From my perspective Ebere is a very skillful midfielder excellent on 1 on 1. However, when it comes to dictating the pace of the game from the midfield that's not his main strength.

That's why l rate Onomah more because he is able to dominant the game with a far greater range of passing ability.

With regards to club l felt that some of the mid range EPL clubs would find him as a good option. On the other hand most of the mid range clubs have noticed his ball distribution and passing range is not that great.

Sometimes it boils down to sheer luck and opportunity. Not every player in the EPL is better than the players in the Championship.

You cannot build an attacking team with a weak spine

Liverpool afforded to build an attacking side of wingers because they have Salah, Mane and Firminho 3 mature worldclass players whose style is INTERPLAY and they have a solid midfield to recycle the play if their attack fails. And it took Kloop years

Please please please don't compare Liverpool with SE, we are still struggling with setplays

You have omitted a MAIN VITAL COMPONENT.

Arnold Trent Alexander and Robertson the two wing backs. Check the stats for assists from the two players who both have blistering pace and pinpoint accuracy with thier crosses.

In addition they can defend.

And that's entirely Rohr's fault!!!

What stopped him from inviting players like Ebere Eze to try out the AM role?

The AM isn't really our problem..it's the way Rohr set up the team!! When Moses was around,he was our star player.. He had a lot of freedom in the team.. Could play anywhere up front.. that was how he thrived . But Rohr has reduced our wingers to playing more defensive...
You keep saying we don't have good players.. but these players will put up good performances at their club .

With the kind of stat the likes of Chukwueze, Onyekuru and Osimhen had last season, any serious coach would have know how to utilize them properly!!

I disagree.

Not with the kind of robust physical football played in the AFCON particularly Onyekuru and Osimhen are too lightweight.

Chukwueze is able but has a lot learn with end product.

Aribo is like Ndidi on the left, a little more skilfull but has an eye for goal. That's something SE needs.
Can Chuks do what he is doing at a higher level currently? That's left to be seen.

Aribo can deputize Ndidi. At least he can bring something different, or maybe more, especially when we are chasing the game.
