Xbee007:

The Super Tucano will come with guided munitions such as Paveway II and Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) laser-guidance kits and ammunition.

These can be deployed from far range that would render AA guns less potent.

We don't need the Mavericks cos they are expensive. The APKWS kits will do just fine.

You can read more on this here: https://www.nairaland.com/4256115/us-ambassador-nigeria-presents-acceptance#63658688

The US wont sell Mavericks to Nigeria for Boko Haram. That's an expensive overkill. APKWS and Paveway II will turn dumb bombs and rockets to precision weaponry. Less than $600 per ordinance

BHT has been trying to do that to special forces school in yobe but always meet their Waterloo...they only overrun smaller unitz and FOBs most times not successful...the day BHT tried to overrun the MNJFT they paid dearly NAF responded with the MI35 and Alpha jet..... The military has made great progress in the fight against terrorist groups unlike before we would hear bomblast here and their even during festival periods...it has now drastically changed our military onced hired foreign pilots and private military institution to fight for us it has all changed now though we need improvement and all but we have to appreciate the little that our military is doing it's not an easy job.the military is using both kinetic and non kinetic ops to fight insurgency not everyone is perfect our Boys ain't super humans that is always winning...there is always a breach of info somewhere...that's why our FOBs are usually attacked....And some of you need to learn manners always offensive while talking to someone is wrong SLBMS

AGM 65 marverick

Way too expensive to take out bht trucks, the long range variant of that missile cost $110k, how many strikes do you think Nigeria's defense budget can accomodate?
Do you remember what happened when Israel used $100k iron dome missiles to intercept $1k Fayr missiles from Hamas?
Sure, thats how the story of the Tucano will end. Except there are other cheaper ammo we are not aware of, AGM 65 may not see action till the platform dies.

So these bastards came in this morning with spotters in our gear and vehicles. The unit stationed at the area flagged them down and they refused to stop and kept waking like a friendly force . The unit got ready for the worse thinking it was an "actual" friendly force being chased by those idiots Tilk they opened fire once they got close.

Fortunately, the good guys blew off them gasket which made their vehicles spoil and a radio call to nearby units. We were stationed where we are for a purpose. The person in charge needed a go-ahead order for us to move in as we're were about 17km away.

Little did they know that was an advance party shocked they came in large number and go-ahead was given for us to move in. The naval boys seems to be more excited grin while some where scared of an impending ambush as we moved in.

Luckily for us, some mopol guys working with the army around our route were on standby and we used their help to navigate through a safe route.

In short 26 bastards KIA. Zero military casualty

ISWAP SUFFERS 10 CASUALTIES IN BAGA.

What was meant to be a surprise dawn attack on Multinational Joint Task Force and national troops this morning became a nightmare for the Islamic State West Africa Province(ISWAP), as 10 of its terrorists met their waterloo in Baga.

Specifically, at about 5:30 am this morning, ISWAP terrorists numbering about 30 infested troops defensive locality. However, vigilant troops spotted their approach and promptly thwarted what could have been an audacious assault.

In the process, 10 terrorists, including 4 suicide bombers were neutralized. Others escaped with gun shot wounds, as blood stained tracks were observed. Additionally, assorted arms and ammunition were impounded from other terrorists who fled in disarray.

Unfortunately, a soldier paid the supreme, while 5 others sustained varying injuries and have been evaluated for medical attention.

It must be reemphasized that the MNJTF acting cohesively with national forces will continue to pursue courses of action necessary for the achievement of it's mandate in the Lake Chad Basin.

Nigerian Airforce's newly established forward base at Diffa Airport, Nigér Republic. The base was established to improve the Airforce's comparatively longer reaction time to Northern Borno from the 105 Composite Airbase in Maiduguri which is farther away.
This base is the primary reason ISWAP has launched many unsuccessful attacks against Diffa and have even gone as far as launching long ranged attacks using the few and critical Grad rockets they have. In lieu of its strategic importance, they area is usually heavily secured.

thank goodness for this wonderful piece of news. However it raises some serious concerns about ISWAP using military vehicles, call signs and uniforms to attack military bases. I read a tweet some weeks ago on Twitter by @fulanNasrullah. He explained in detail how ISWAP was able to achieve this feat. That's what they used in attacking the metele base. Bidexiii, if you're on twitter, visit the guy's handle. You'll be amazed.
