We've said it here before. As a fresher, avoid "Funding Circle UK" and Collection House Calls.
How does one spend 4hrs on a 7 minute call? Maka why? undecided
How many jobs have you done so far?
How have other calls been?
grin

Hi drawnobet, I just registered some days ago, and frankly speaking, I lost interest already until I saw this thread again. So I registered and they were asking me to download the app. Is that a must for me to be involved fully?
I don't know about the app o. They advise you to use Google chrome for the work. I hope you have the right company

With my experience so far, i guess it will help a lot folks that are yet to get their prepaid card..

1. Make sure that your billing address on paypal will be the same with the one you'll fill during the card application. If your PayPal address is not correct, you can edit it (i edited mine)
2. Request for the card from the customer service before he starts filling the details online. Once the card is with you, check the back of the envelope and see if what is written is INTERNATIONAL HIGH. if not, don't allow the personnel to continue with the process online.(i had same issue. I didn't check the back of the envelope and the guy ended up giving me LOCAL HIGH. So please ensure you collect the card envelope and check before he proceeds )
3. If the account (INTERNATIONAL HIGH) is successful, ensure you deposit at least #2000.

4. Once step 1-3 is correctly followed, you can now proceed with both the linking and confirmation.

Shout out to thorrvik55, OBI. I'm loyal sir.

It seems you have resolved yours. Mine is international high yet refuses to link. I have not been able to visit the bank. My issue might be the address.

I don't know why I always have inverted speaker. That's probably the only problem I noticed I do have. Despite carefully going back to review it over and over before submitting. Are this people really responsible? Because it's so tiring and annoying to finish a long call and maybe someone that reviews it is responsible. Or maybe it's from me? I don't know how.

Are you transcribing from a phone?
If yes, asides from mistaking one speaker for another due to similar voice sound or inaudible sounds, when you're proofreading your work after transcribing or scrolling down your work page, be careful how your fingers touch your screen. A slight unnoticed touch from your fingers can change your speaker tag and ruin your entire work. So, watch your fingers after all due diligence.

I also got penalized for inverted speakers twice even after i checked it well.

I'm very sure where they are accusing me of is their fault. I remember the call well and i didn't make that mistake.

Noticed it in mine too. Just move to the next stamp and type it there.
What matters is that you tag it to the right person that said it.
There is no next stamp there, its supposed to be the last convoy.
Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by Playz(m): 6:26pm On Jul 31, 2019
Thanks @D1uncle
1. Total time. Go for calls below 3 min with less that an hour total time. It maybe few. But just patiently wait till you can find them
2. As earlier mention in this thread FC UK is always longer. Monitor the calls you pick so as not to waste your token. You only wastes token with those CLH guys but don't waste it for UK. If it might help you can register another account to give you 10 daily token but make sure you link the email of the new account to your PayPal. Worth mentioning that you can link up to 5 emails to a PayPal account

Thanks @psyqs
...If you download the audio file, you won't have problem with timestamp and if a call is too complicated, I just release the call, shikenan.

Stick with this and you'll be able to thrive on the platform.

Anymore suggestions?

2. How long do you usually delegate, part-time or fulltime?
3. All those calls, none was from Funding Circle or CLH

I hope you don't mind me asking.

It's just like, when someone passes exam and applauds himself for working hard, and then fails and claims the lecturer hates him and the whole school is rigged against him when there are others in dat classes with A's in dat course.

Mistakes are a part of life, so we should aim to look for a way to reduce the mistakes we make not blame others for our mistake.

U can take a screenshot of ur full transcript b4 submitting to prove that they edit ur transcript one way or the other...
Because of this ur comment, ohers that have interest in it might just say fokk it, the system is rigged against me so no need for me to join.

One "yeah" assigned to wrong speaker is still inverted.
One missing okay as a response is auto 1 because it alters the flow
I was like you at first but I became humble once they pointed out my wrongs.
You should check the rating guide.

To get/extract audio from sites that have some form of audio embedded such as on our transcription site, first open the job an click on next statement once then you do CTRL+SHIFT+I on Chrome on PC to open Inspect elements, then click on F5 to refresh page then go to Media under Network to see what is happening. You should see one two or more audio files there. Right click on the largest one and open in new tab, it will either open in new tab or start downloading. Once done open the audio file with VLC or some other strong audio software because the file will not be in a recognizable format for the baby audio software.

For those of us that want to run the clips on Otter or some other AI software. Please, please and please, delete after its transcribed and do not share. Remember that you signed a confidentiality agreement and any leaks can be traced back to you. Interpol and SARS no be mate.

There was absolutely no need for that statement. That is a direct insult. The conversation was all good until she made that statement...
I've noticed it several times. She most times tries to chip such in as if we won't always notice.

They are not responsible. They don't edit ur transcript after u submit... We've all being where u are right now. Back then we did not have the Re-do option but we still managed to cope.

@ the bolded, it's easier to blame someone else for ur mistakes than to man up and look to not make such mistake next time.

I have once been rated 1 after transcribing a 19min call because I mislabeled the last time stamp which was just "Bye". The customer told the rep " Bye" but I labelled it as "Rep" because to me it sounded that way.

I spent several hours on that work and at the end I didn't earn a dime from it because of a simple "Bye" that I did not label correctly.
There was no redo option back then, so I had no other option.

Today, u have a second chance at correcting ur mistake but still yet u tell urself that they are the one's editing ur transcript after u submit..

To u and all those other people on this thread that believe the platform is rigged against Africans: You will continue to get back to back 1's and 2's till u sit down and work on ur mistakes, that's the harsh truth... If u can't do that then qaworld is not for u.
Bro calm down small. I never really said they were the one. From my statement I said "Are they really responsible or is it from me?". My intention was to be cleared by old hands in the game, to be sure it was from me and not otherwise.
And I have really been trying since I started. Getting a rating of 4 and 5 back to back. But like I said, one of the challenges I have is the inverted speaker ish, which I don't know how I always mistakenly invert the speakers despite my careful review before submission. And I use a laptop to transcribe. I have heard you and will try my best to be more careful and follow instructions well this time.
