Averaging down in the market is an ageless strategy. A market bottom is not also that easy to detect. In other words, a market bottom is not over until it is over.

Most people that do claim they understand market bottom are not always accurate. Markets have often moved from lower low to lower, lower low.

If you want to apply averaging down, please do the followings.
1. Ensure the funds is not encumbered
2. Ensure you can wait long
3. Ensure the economy in which the market operates has the capacity to come back up
4. Ensure the very stock where you have investment has the capacity to recover to a former height even if it takes longer than you anticipated
5. Do the averaging down slowly with such little funds that you will not even know you are doing anything
6. While averaging down, ensure that dividend income from the same set of stocks comes handy and regularly
7. Average down in a stock where you can still get a buyer should you decide to sell and take your loss
8. Averaging down in stock with the potential of reaching 20kobo in the process does not make sense.

good strategy but some company on nse use situation on ground to pass information. some company used opportunity of bear period to declare loss or lower PAT result. whose down already fear no fall

if stock continuing going down, don't u think company can use the opportunity to reduce dividend. let see how interim dividend will look like in few week time

some company declear strong earnings during bullish period and vice versa... the more u look the less u see
