Humility017: Sir with all humility, I was the one who asked Komekn about Aneke as I noticed that he didn't play today. So far as Aneke is a Nigerian, his success is my joy. More so he now plays in the same league that our best midfielder in the last afcon plays in. 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: As for ur first paragraph, it's a no brainer, many ppu here knew Mikel won't exceed 2019 calender year as a Nigerian player, few were only contemplating if he would honor d afcon tourney or not And on ujah, going by Andrew444 analysis dt says,"IF" UJAH scores 15goals in a season in bundesliga,or churns out good performance week in week out, rohr will invite him, whether u rate him or not and to me dts correct cos we as a nation we can't afford to ignore a player/talent playing in such a league with such a decent "15goals" record in a season(we re not Brazil,Spain etc) On rohr speaking abt nacho is a norm. he has been part of d team for a long time now,he can't wait to have him back but d truth of d matter is "IF" by November or so ,when eagles will play deir first match, and nacho doesn't enjoy enuf playing time let alone of scoring goals,he might not b invited, forget what rohr is saying now, but as a fan,I hope he continues his form cos of all d players we av @ d moment, nacho fits d no 9 position perfectly, he knws aw d team plays,so to me I think it will b a plus if both ujah and nacho churn out good performance on d pitch, just d way okereke is doing @ d moment 4 Likes |

Mikel retiring and leaving the scene was key for me because I knew it was going to bring about a different approach in the new era. Mikel is the last true playmaker/midfield generalissimo we have and his retirement means the Super Eagles will have to evolve even further before another midfield general emerges as true heir. I foresaw Mikel's leave more than a year before the tourney but some here were still contemplating him being around till 2021 if he still has it. I said 2019 is his final curtain and it wss important because him leaving at the right time means we can take shape for 2022 properly enough. That is part of the details not all of you here noted far back. On Ujah, enough of the "What Ifs"... Let the guy reach that benchmark first showing genuine quality before he is even mentioned. But I know the guy won't because he cannot suddenly produce what he lacks. Dude is so ordinary. I have watched enough of him to know. So good luck to expecting a goals rush from him. Time will eventually tell... On Nacho, again another "IF"... A player who Rodgers has clearly stated is working hard day after day and is competing with one of the best forwards in the EPL? Rodgers said Nacho will get his chances. So like I told Andrew... I am telling you. Nacho does not have to meet your expectations to get invited. He only has to meet Rohr's. Rohr has said those words about him and Nigeria's next games be it friendly or so are likely to come up by the September International window, NOT November. So enough of the "What Ifs". It is not hard to tell Quality. Nacho is young and is a proven quality talent. He is finding his form again and Rohr is impressed. One can only expect he keeps it up amd not analysing "negative what if scenarios". But Ujah is not a quality player. He is bang average and I see no reasons to have high hopes for him just because he plays in Bundesliga. So telling me "What if" he does this or that is funny because Football does not work like that. Things don't just happen.... You work for them to happen. Ujah carries no such positive signs going forward and time will tell it all. elyte89: 1 Like 1 Share |

Humility017: Players go up and they go down in performance that's football. First of all l talked about Fred Onyedinma in comparison to the quality of players we were inviting. Nonetheless, many moons ago l said he made a BIG MISTAKE completely misplaced loyalty to Millwall. This is kid thar won MOTM at the age of 17 in the Championship. Wanted by Arsenal, Tottenham and others. Fast forward last 2017/18 Watford and QPR made confirmed bids for him. That foolish mistake to stay with a Quintessential kick and rush, blood and guts police game manager at Millwall gas literally ruined the ascendancy of his career. I wrote him off two seasons ago. However, I did not write off Dominic Iorfa he was not treated FAIRLY but denied opportunity to compete. After the shameful politics of Mendes at Wolves. He then goes to Sheffield Wednesday in the January window and as a defensive player scores three goals and is outstanding with severs assists. He may end up very shortly in the EPL. Aneke is pure Quality and has been for quite sometime. How many players have been continous consistent top quality and the OUTSTANDING at club and league over the past two seasons. He has just leapfrog from League 2 to the Championship all this after a near two year Injury nightmare. So apart from Onyedinma who has just sign with Wycombe Wanderers. Are you saying the other two are not making headway in thier careers ❓ I should also add that there is no football age here too. |

komekn: The problem was that he hit a wall last season because that was his first year as a pro. U can't blame him much before then he was carrying QPR. Reminds u of Richarlison at Watford when he scored all those goals in the first half of the season then went blank in the rest. 1 Like |

Mees Palace Football Academy in Jos recruits players under 10 years old and tries to keep them for around 7 years. They educate the boys about different roles in football (referee, administrative staff, etc) and ensure they get a decent education. Contracts are signed with parental approval. Their U13s are currently participating in the Tsemba Wummen U13 League. This is a model many of our NPFL and NNL sides should consider adopting. All pictures (and info) are from their twitter handle. Picture 4 is from their latest screening/tryouts. 5 Likes 2 Shares

They are also interested in having a female team. Our NWPL can look into having their own academies as well. The increase in player pool, improvement in training, etc will be good for our football. All pictures are from their twitter handle. 2 Likes 1 Share

DrLikita12: Why can't we have an NPFL under 13, under 17 and under 20 league?? I am sure, there will be commmercial appeal for such leagues. It will help reduce the scale of age cheating which is rampant in the league. In the long run, our under 20 and under 23 teams will benefit. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Henry Onyekuru is in conflict with Everton over his proposed move to French Ligue 1 club Monaco. While the Toffees and the Principality outfit have reached a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of the Nigeria international, he has decided to continue his career at Galatasaary for the upcoming season. The Turkish champions are experiencing difficulties signing Onyekuru because Everton are demanding an outright sale due to the fact he is not eligible for a work permit to play in the Premier League. And that is the reason why Monaco have the advantage in the race for his signature but Onyekuru has made it crystal clear he wants to play for Galatasaray and his decision is final. The winger had a good season while on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 16 goals in 44 matches and helping the club win the Super Lig and Turkish Cup. The 22-year-old Onyekuru has made only six competitive appearances for the Super Eagles over the past two years. 1 Like |

tbaba1234: Cost is probably one of the major obstacles. As long as clubs are owned by the government cost will always be a factor. Even the most serious state governors have other priorities...healthcare, education, etc are (rightly) more important to them. I don't think the LMC even has the funds to add another youth league. What our league needs more than anything is privately owned clubs. More people will be willing to invest, security, TV rights can come into play, proper scouting, fan turn out etc. Another problem is the willingness to properly invest in these govt owned clubs. GBS (the one that has the deal with an Eastern European club) and Mees Palace are both in Plateau state but I doubt if Plateau United can even verify the ages of Plateau Utd youth players. Meanwhile, these academies can potentially give them a steady supply of players (at least we know that not all academy players will make the cut abroad) for their own academy (buying, loaning, etc). This is something they can take advantage of but they are obviously not doing that. I think clubs try to work around this by having feeder teams in the lower leagues. These teams are supposed to have younger players but age cheating is still a problem for us so most of them are deceiving themselves. I've heard that the most consistent team in this regard is Nasarawa United. I read that have a working model that allows them sell off/loan their youth players to a number of clubs. I can't verify though. Privatization is actually our only reasonable solution. Until we do that we're just trying to fix a broken leg with a bandaid. |
