I don't know why Nigerians don't listen. We are in uae and we are telling you guys that we are suffering here. There is no job here for Nigerians. Invest ur hard earn money in Nigeria instead of coming to uae to gamble your money. Alot of people have come here and gone after 3months without getting a job. I wouldn't even advise my enemy to come to uae cz what we are doing here is modern slavery. Make Una here something so you won't make the mistakes some of us made. There is only one way to get money here and that is you must work your ass out for one month before you get paid. He who has ears should hear.

Hahahha... Uwa diegwu o o o!

@Fredgod that has been afraid of deportation back to Nigeria bcus of STAPHYLOCOCCUS is also advising people not to enter Dubai!

This life eh.

The purpose of this thread is to support, encourage and guide others on the UAE journey... But the last 10 pages of the thread have been dedicated to defeat that purpose... Where did these set of followers appear from? This is the only thread that is not serving its purpose so far.

The thread is not created to teach people how hard UAE is; it's rather intended to provide best information in settling in the UAE amidst the hardship. Followers can connect and network, share information, use one another as referees, etc. as is done on other travel threads to make life easier for newcomers.

But if we are all convinced that UAE is no longer a destination, then please let the thread be closed. Those that want to continue advising or discouraging people from coming to UAE can then create a new thread with the correct topic to attract those that want to be discouraged. Otherwise, you all need to actively research, plan and strategize the best way to survive out there. It's not easy anywhere, but migrants in other countries have learnt to unite and conquer.

Those that arrive and find jobs need to work very hard to get to the top or at least network with top managememt staff so that you can help others get into your company. It doesn't have to be professional jobs, helping someone get a job that pays bills can go a long way to help them settle. Don't get a job and delete the contacts of the recruiter or agent. Stay in touch and try to form a professional relationship with them. Be of good manner and work hard so your good reports will get to your recruiter or agent such that when you ring them about a friend, they would be happy to give them a try since you've set a good standard. Don't just isolate yourself in your place of work. Mix up... It's not easy anywhere...

Some of you claim to have thriving businesses, yet you can't employ or help your country men, rather you're discouraging people from coming and complaining about Indians, Philippines Et al. What distinguishes those from us is that they actively seek to help themselves. Any of them in any good position of authority would ensure they fill up every position with their people... Have you been to a Chinese or Indian restaurant or grocery shop? All over the world, they use that to bring their people in... You don't expect them to leave their people and give you the job na... Why can't Nigerians do same? Why can't a Nigerian become an hotel manager, a shift supervisor, a supermarket or stores supervisor or team leader, a warehouse supervisor, HR manager or associate, etc.? It starts with one person...

I have said previously, all of you complaining about hardship and discouraging others from coming to the UAE should please RETURN to Nigeria and prove your points. But the hard truth is that even if new migrants don't come to the UAE, the situation of those complaining might still not change. Also, a new migrant might even do better than those complaining of hardship. Everyone has a different approach to life... Let people try for themselves. All you can do is say it as it is but stop trying to stop people from coming and attacking or abusing those that refuse to listen or wishing them ill-fate so you can take pleasure in their failure.

But then again, if you're all convinced that it's the end of the road in the UAE, then close this thread. The thread is gathering the wrong traffic. People should be able to find the information suggested by the topic of the thread, not to meet a completely opposite discussion here.

I wish I could like this post repeatedly.

You couldn't have said it any better.

What we all fail to understand is that settling and surviving in another country (esp as Nigerians) has never been easy and will never be easy unless our leaders and Nigerians in diaspora do something to redeem the seriously damaged image of this country.

So whoever that is leaving d shores of Nigeria should have this in mind before leaving and while in his/her migrated country whether UAE or not.

.

I think one of the reason for this is those who have made it in uae, by made It, I mean those who have gotten jobs (comfortable jobs) have refused to share how or the peocesses/procedures they used in landing their jobs. And some have not represented us (Nigerians) well in their workplace, hence not promoting the manager of their workplace to consider taking more Nigerians.

Having said this, there's no smoke without fire, I'll still not advise anyone to sell lands, cars, properties or even give up ur pr3sent job in Nigeria just to go and try luck in uae; I'll consider those negative advise from some people here.

Do you think it is easy anywhere? Why did u travel if it was easy for you here in Nigeria? And why are you still there if it is not favoring you? If you can't tell us hoe life over there is, please allow those who want to, the essence of this thread is to help and make it prepared. E do biko

and I also noticed something funny about Nigerians or let me say many Nigerians that are base in uae, the moment day land a job over there they just quickly delete their account,
I thought at first it was a something day decided to do on their over personal due to a personal reasons, but when I checked other thread I also noticed the same thing like the Netherlands thread,America thread, uk thread and many other, they will even give a testimony of how they were able to secure a job and the next thing u see is POSTED BY NOBODY, ,,we sabi they chop alone for 9ja that's y we are only supportive only when it comes to fraudulent activities, make we change our ways,,

And there are persons saying uae is bad my people no where is easy make everybody try e luck dats life, there is no work in oil companies but people are retiring and people are getting employed every day, it's about connection, and if u can't connect people up legitly PLS stop discouraging them , every country day hard for 9ja it's not a new thing

Some of us won't stay off while some set of "agent network" make our brothers continue to loose hard earned Naira to heartless agents and UAE fruitless Visa change. You can't SHOUT OPPOSING OPINIONS DOWN!

Not many will be able to bounce back like ME, after loosing so much money to UAE move...

NOBODY IS DISCOURAGING HERE. U think going UAE is good, I say it's not, DIFFERENT VIEWS ni!!

UAE is not worth it ANYMORE.

A LOT of guys there feed on innocent Nigerians who are desperate to leave Naija. They use Visa processing (200+), accommodation (50k per month), job agent fee 100k plus collected from new comers to do fine boy and hang on...and even send money home!

The biggest help you will get from MOST Nairaland friends, when you get to UAE is CV format and job sites... Which are dominated by scams.

Enough of Nigerians deceiving fellow Nigerians jor.

Someone asked one minor but important question here, all those jobs justi4jesu is posting here, how many Nigerians do you think have been employed in those adverts

Hmmm, again I'll advise any still hend-bent on travelling to uae should do so, BUT should please leave something to fall back on in naija just in case uae plans did not work out.

My brother leave them alone, they think UAE is about writing grammar and long epistles, we've tried our best to enlighten people and no one will force you not to apply for a visa, after all na their money.

One person said this thread is not serving its essence and should be closed, but I disagree. People coming here for tourism will still benefit from this thread, do anything that rocks your boat, we will still be here to still provide them the answers to any of their questions whenever they land in UAE.

Anyone who has been following this thread prior to entering UAE has a better chance of securing a job rather than a JJC who will just enter UAE thinking that jobs are readily available.

If I encourage you to come here to search for job, God forbid at the end you didn't find one, you will say I misled you. If I ask you not to come because job are scarce, you will call me enemy of progress

At this juncture, I will say follow your instinct

And you think everyone that even attends those walk in interviews would share their experiences. Most Nigerians prefer hoarding important information from their fellow people.

So get used to it and if UAE doesn’t work for you then don’t discourage others if they have the funds to embark on the journey. No one is advising people to sell off their last hope and rush to UAE but believe me UAE is one of the easiest countries that is lenient in visa processing and issue without any interview and you can actually use the visit visa to secure a job if successful.

It’s a 50:50 chance.

Maybe and just maybe if some of your fellow Nigerians that come here would actually behave like human beings with small sense and not soil our nationality to employers then there would be more opportunities like others are enjoying. So start by behaving yourself within any company you find yourself to create an opportunity for the next Nigerian that could eventually be considered to fill up that same position after you.

Bleep you man. I think k you're an agent. Keep deceiving people on. I guess you're happy that people come into uae on daily bases and get frustrated when they come in. Now tell me how many people are still on the streets roaming for job. The answer is uncountable people. Some Don teko. And instead of u to advise people to take their money else where, you wanna satisfy you selfie motives. Keep it up. I don't blame you. I blame those people who wouldn't listen to advise.

Its not necessary to insult here. People have their different opinions and should be allowed to air their views. It's true that the last 10 pages of this thread has had negative contents about the uae. Abeg, before u quote me, (i dey 9ja but prepping to migrate), i suggest u carry out a well detailed research about your intended destination and the cost involved.

N.B

To my fellow 9ja brethren intending to migrate, this is just my take. From my personal research, I'll suggest u hold enough funds for your trip. If you are a degree holder, you will require added certifications like nebosh and the likes.( 240k for nebosh here in the FCT) and if you're not, Abeg go learn skill like plumbing, welding or tiling. In addition, you still need to tip some recruiters or HR staffs. 1-1.2m should be enough but its not a guarantee that you'll get a job. Now the question is, why invest so much on PROBABLES? If you can risk it, God bless your determination. Personally, I just couldn't risk investing so much and not reap the efforts. For me, I moved on to the last option that I've got.

God bless all legit Nigerian hustlers in the UAE
and Diaspora.
God bless the efforts of all intending migrants.
God bless and protect our loved ones whom we have left behind or are leaving behind( father, mother, siblings, relations and friends). We will come back home to meet them in good health.

Amen.

The Thing is Before Embarking to Dubai in search of a Job how much Income are you Expecting?? Most of the Jobs That are Very much Available are Menial Jobs ..Are you Ready to bend down and be a Waiter/Waitress,Laundry guy,Nanny,Clearner,Security, Receptionist, company driver?? Salary range is like 100kplus ..But When some people Can't get Office jobs because of Racism bla bla they give up Entirely and discourage others because they cant do Menial Jobs..
Even Some people in US/Uk do Menial jobs and get paid..
We have to bear one thing in mind we may Encounter Racists ..but same time not all Discriminates Blacks.

It’s true that job is now relatively scarce, unlike before, even for other nationalities but it’s wrong to discourage people from coming to search for jobs in UAE. As someone rightly wrote, the thread was not meant to discourage people from coming here.
There are many reasons why most Nigerians are not getting jobs. Mostly, these days, it’s what we have to offer in terms of experience and expertise and how we position ourselves for the little opportunities that gets us the job. Nobody is interested in what you went through or how much you’ve spent to make yourself available in UAE.
We do help ourselves beyond what many are insinuating here but you can’t take over people’s life or force them to take some steps to better their chances just because you want to help them. The fact that most people that were assisted don’t give comments to appreciate our kind gesture on pages of nairaland or elsewhere for people to read doesn’t mean that Nigerians are not helping one another.
As per whether Nigerians are suffering here, fingers are not equal and you don’t expect things to automatically turn rosy for you once you move out of Nigeria.
Finally, I don’t think it’s necessary for us to litter the thread with how much we are enjoying life or suffering in uae but I can assure you that there are many Nigerians who are doing great financially and in their careers here in UAE and Alhamdulillah, I am one of them.

Oga whoever you are... No one here can stop anyone from travelling. The guy you have been quoting is only advising based on his experience. You also have the right to share your own positive encounters.

Bless you brother, don't mind him nor waste your precious time on him. You see, that's one thing I despise in most Nigerian youths, they don't learn from anything. They as well, attack any advice that counters their opinion, instead of picking out one or two sense from it and apply it to their next move. Most of them don't even carry-out their research before visiting any country, they just join the bandwagon of where it's happening now. Some don't even know that it's illegal to drink alcohol here in any form and that's why it's not sold. Yet when they arrive, they indulge in the services of the street urchins who give them the impression that "nothing dey happen", even CID dey come here drink, and at the end of the day, they get arrested and town into jail! Like NONNYG said sometime, nobody is holding anyone back from coming to UAE, cause some people will always twist your advice to their own negative perspective! Yes, most of us are living good, and doing well. But can you pay the price?? You're still asking if 600k will be enough to cover ticket, visa, accommodation, and job placement (I see your failure already), yet you're talking about luck, prayer, and grace(who did this to our youths?). It's like waiting for a plane in a bus station. You have your God, they have theirs, they don't believe in yours same way you don't believe in theirs, so how do you expect your own God to overcome theirs and grant you their luck and grace? It's common sense. Be prepared, if you have 2-3million, you can move here, get you EID, get an apartment and start a life! Not decivng yourself of succeeding where others didn't cause you believe in God with 600k!!! Una don see us wey no Sabi God. Some will be chanting the only thing they know, "come back na". Mumu people, how can someone who has investment over here come back? Some that are even begging you not to come yet you're tell them to come back, can't even pay their overstay penalties cause it's amounting to millions already and you can never ever exit the country without paying, while some don't even have return ticket.... In fact jare I rest my case. Who no go, no go know.
