Sorry to bother you. Does this mean you have gotten a response on your study visa? And if yes, please when did you apply?
Thanks.

I don't even understand why SA embassies in Nigeria hold passport for long in d name of visa processing. If you apply from South Africa , you won't submit your passport. They will seal the visa on your passport at your presence when the decision is ready.

My thoughts exactly. Even the UAE Visa processing that takes a few days doesn’t request that passports be submitted, how much more when you know you would be holding passports for so long. 2-6 months? What type of investigation are they conducting for so long. I hate to think it is deliberate. Not a good experience especially for those who have genuine reasons to travel there. Not nice at all.

The SA High Commission is better placed to respond to the enquiries and do so correctly. I hope they're aware of this website and will respond..

Please help demystify that statement.

Nothing is confusing in what he said, he meant the visa was stamped yesterday and he got his hand on it the following day. What’s confusing you in that?

Masters or Phd? Did the admission indicate the start of study? Were u given waiver at vfs before submission?
Have you made any commitment in terms of school fees payment or insurance?

Check this post and the advise of the person who replied. You should adjust the letter to suit yourself.

Sample Letter of Self Introduction

A letter from your employer confirming you are employed with them and that you are allowed to take leave for the period will suffice. Don't include your official letter of employment.

Cheers and all the best

Hello House, pls i need your help
1. is it necessary to get invitation for vacation from my uncle or get any doc from him for accommodation or i should just book hotel and package my application. You don't necessarily need a letter of invitation. You can apply directly. You can also book hotel and pay for a few days.

2. pls where do i get yellow cards and does one 1 cover for me my daughter and wife? Each of you need to get your own Yellow Fever Cards. You can get this at the Port Health department of the International Airport (MMIA)

3. pls do i need tax clearance for my business ? Not necessarily. But you can include it if you have it. No harm in including it.

4. do i need insurance for me daughter and wife? Depends on your visa type. If you are visiting, none of you need it. If you are studying, you need it.

5. do i also submit my wife's statement or company details? Depends on who you say is paying. If your wife is paying, then use her bank statement. Also, let her write a letter that she will cover all the cost for the trip. She should also include her Passport details for this purpose and state this in her letter.

6. we plan to travel mid oct is it advisable to submit application late august? Surely. Seems it is now gold to apply for SA visa. Apply as early as you can. But make sure you won't need your passport for any purpose within that time cos you won't have access to it.

7. do i need to go to abuja to certify my daughter's birth certificate? I'm not sure. Others, please assist. Let your wife also write a letter that she approves of your daughter to embark on the trip.

8. Do i use one introductory letter to intro me my wife and daughter You can, it's fine. But I'll rather prepare a separate letter and keep (in case they are collecting their applications separately).

Thanks in anticipation. You're welcome. grin

Please see my comments in bold in your question above.

For the question NO 7
NO YOU DON'T NEED TO, IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE WHO CAN DO THAT ON YOUR BEHALF IN ABUJA BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS IN ABUJA.
I referred someone from this thread to someone who helped me a week ago and she already got her docs back.....
Pls DON'T make the mistake some of us made before getting the info.
All the best

Employment letter has never been a part of the required documents. But a letter from your employer is very important.

While it will be easier to type out long posts here, I feel you need to read a bit on the official channels about what it is about so you are well informed. Then you can come back here and ask for clarifications on particular matters that you don't understand from there. Please read everything on this link and then let's see how we can assist you.

http://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/nigeria/relative.html
Click on all the sections i.e. visa fees, Documents Required, Photo Specifications, Processing time.

Also download the form and go through it. Then let's see which parts are not clear to you so that we can help you with clarifications on them.

Don't say this guy doesn't want to help me, he's sending me links. Rather, see it as this guy wants to help me by having info from the original source.

Cheers and all the best.

Bro i have been following you and noticed you are very straightforward person..

Please I would like to ask for your advice on what to do. I did apply for relative visa Jan 2019, up till now no response. I have sent emails upon emails even submitted a letter personally at vfs Lagos. And the manager assured me she will deliver it to the embassy on my behalf. Still no update and I'm getting frustrated with the whole thing..

Kind regards

I should expect mine soon because I applied on the 24th June for study Visa, however, please confirm from him because 23rd is a Sunday and they don't attend to people on Sunday I think.
