NFF to help Siasia clear his name Score Nigeria The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have disclosed they were shocked by a life ban slapped on the country’s former coach Samson Siasia by FIFA for bribery and they will support him to clear his name. World football governing body FIFA Friday banned Siasia, 52, from all football-related activities after an extensive investigation into matches that Wilson Raj Perumal attempted to manipulate for betting purposes showed he breached Article 11 (Bribery) of the 2009 edition of the FIFA code of ethics. Acting NFF president Seyi Akinwunmi said in a statement Monday: “The NFF were shocked to learn of the investigation and subsequent decision by the FIFA Ethics Committee (Adjudicatory Chamber) placing a life ban on Mr. Samson Siasia,” Akinwunmi said. “But we have now received documents, including one known as the Motivated Decision, and we have handed them to our lawyers to study and provide legal advice to the federation.” Akinwumi described Siasia as a legend, who they will support to clear his name. “It is a massive sanction on one of our legends. Siasia is a fooball legend but most importantly he is a Nigerian. We must therefore be interested in the matter and be properly advised. “Siasia gave his all for Nigeria, playing for the Under-20 team right from his secondary school days and then for the senior team for several years, and also coaching the Under-20 and Under-23 teams and the Super Eagles. “While we respect the FIFA processes and appreciate that an investigation was conducted prior to the decision, the least we as a Federation can do is empathise with him at this time, make ourselves available to him and hope that in some way he is able to clear his name as he has promised to do.” 2 Likes |

Was Rohr Right In Calling Up Maduka Okoye? – Germany Based Journalist Explains The invitation of Fortuna Dusseldorf II goalkeeper Maduka Okoye to the senior national team of Nigeria has brought heavy criticism on coach of the team Gernot Rohr. Rohr named the 19 year old in his squad for the upcoming friendly game against Ukraine next month despite the fact that he plays for the second team of the Bundesliga side, who are campaigning in the 4th division in Germany. Mark Rowland who writes for Owngoalnigeria.com in Germany gave us his opinion on the decision to call the shot stopper who was with Bayern Leverkusen in his formative years before his move the U19 of Fortuna Dusseldorf. Last Season: Okoye was ever present for the B team of Fortuna Dusseldorf and severally trained with the first team. Last season was his first with the U23s in the Regionalliga West ( 4th division) following his promotion from the U19s and he played in 15 games, made the bench for four games and missed three due to injury. DONT MISS ==> Standard Liege Favourite To Sign Rangers Out Of Favour Striker Sadiq Umar It was a big step up for him and many attributed it to the fact that he made an amazing leap with the U19 the season before last where he impressed in 13 games although he conceded 22 goals and kept just two clean sheets. For the U23s so far he has played in 20 games, conceded 26 goals with six clean sheet to his name so surely the potential to be a good goalkeeper is in him. This Season. He ended the season with an injury and underwent surgery. Upon his return he dropped to the bench for their first league game in the Regionalliga West which they won 1-0 as he continue to build on his fitness following the surgery in the summer. However he has not been seen around the team in the last three games against Alem Aachen, Bonner SC and TuS Haltern and the explanation from sources close to the club has it that he suffered a minor set back which has kept him out. DONT MISS ==> Semi Ajayi Is A Better Player Now After Playing For Nigeria - Coach Of Rotherham Reveals Conclusion : He did really well last season and was the third choice goalkeeper of the first team at a stage but this season he wasn’t registered with the first team and he will continue to play in the 4th division, which personally I feel isn’t good enough for him to be called up to the senior national team of Nigeria. Also he hasn’t played a minute this season and missed the majority of pre season training as he is still recovering from the surgery he had at the end of last season. Will he be fit before the game? For now his invitation has more question marks around it than if he was called up last season. Wahala wa ooo... I hope this dude is invited coz of his talent 1 Like |

edi287: Torres career didn't start at Liverpool. So, how many times did Torres score 20 league goals in a season? Starting from Athletic Madrid, he played 30 games consistently but he never scored 20 goals in a season. However, when he went back he almost tallied what he scored before he left for Liverpool. That's the undiluted facts. Now, how did a 32 years old Torres scored 11 goals in 30 games in the La Liga? If the old Torres could score 11 goals in the La Liga, he would had done better if he went to any other club save Chelsea. What is the difference between 14 goals/10 assists and 15 goals/15 assists? Sarri did nothing to improve Hazard. Fact The guy even struggled as a striker when used. Gbam Gabriel will struggle at Chelsea life and direct.
