Very fine, just putting things together little by little.

Everything about my travel is done by PTDF. I have given them my travel date, so they will book the flight and send the ticket to me.

I don't even know how much the ticket is, lol.

Your date is first week right?

Hello guys,

I applied for a France tourist visa in Lagos on the 15th of July. I am yet to get any feedback from them. I have sent several mails, visited the embassy and VFS. No luck.
Please has anyone else been in this kind of situation? I have a trip to another country this weekend.

People hardly appeal French visa denial, so you can start and tell us how it goes. The whole writing the letter in French and waiting for some months discourages them.

well it’s a long shot but
First send an (several) email to them @visas.lagos-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr
State ur name.. passport number..tracking number.. intended date of travel and reasons for withdrawal..
then call VFS tell them you want to withdraw I think they have a form For this ,not so sure but you can call them on ‭0815 018 8800‬ or email them .
if you are free you can submit a hand written letter requesting for the withdrawal of your passport and submit at the embassy
Good luck

Hello Mimi35,

Please how authentic is this email address. I mean have you used it before and did you get a response from the France embassy? I have an urgent issue I need to sort out and I dont think VFS will be able to assist.
Thanks for your response

Why did you apply for a visa in July when your travel date is October? That's way too far apart.

I am not a prophet of doom but you might get your passport either mid or late September. Most times, there are exceptions for very frequent travellers who get their passport within 2 weeks of application.

Hey! Well the email is authentic.. but u have to send mails for record..you might be lucky to get a response but you have to send series of mails.. ok thing is, how urgent is your case? How long ago did you apply?Has your travel date passed? Do you need your passport for emergency? Because they respond to urgent cases but via hand written letter but you must have sent mails ..Ask VFS for withdrawal form.( I think they should have that)

Tahnks Mimi35,

Well the case is quite urgent for me.

I have actually gotten my passport back. Also for my wife and two kids. All with visa issued for a month and valid till September 15. However I have a third child and we applied for her a few days after ours. Reason being that she has a US passport and was meant to travel with that only to discover that her US passport was due to expire in less than a month and we could not get a close enough date at the US embassy for passport renewal. We thought we could use the passport like that because it will expire after we return but we discovered could not (France immigration law states that US passports must be valid for at least six months to permit entry to France). So we had to apply for a France visa with her Nigerian Passport. We made our own application on July 24, her application was August 02. Our visas are valid till September 15, 2019 and school resumes September 09. I was optimistic that I will get her passport back yesterday since it would have made it exactly 3 weeks.
I really want us to make the trip but we cant travel without her. I do not want to withdraw the passport but just make an appeal for quick return (With her visa of course)

Applicants are allowed to submit their application 10 weeks to their travel date. So if its within that 10 weeks, it's not to far apart.

You are allowed does not mean you should, except you are willing to wait and not complain. Applying 4 weeks to your travel date is also absolutely fine.

The normal processing time is 3 weeks and before now, I have never done or seen any France tourist application that has exceeded 3 weeks and some days. In any application I do, I always submit 3 months to the travel dates for UK Visa application which is d maximum time allowed and 10 weeks to d travel date for France Visa which is also d maximum time allowed to submit an application. I always do this to make sure d application is decided before d travel date and also, incase the Visa is refused due to the officer error, I ll address that error and immediately make a fresh application with d same travel date that was initially stated. I submitted and application since on July 10th which was suppose to be out within 3 weeks but it's over 6 weeks now and it's not out but I'm not worried because I gave enough time for d application to be treated. If i had applied with d mind of d normal processing time of 3 weeks, i would ve applied like 5 weeks to the travel date and by now i would ve been very worried. So for u to say "That's way too far apart]." is wrong.
