Please help a brother out. I have got a 50 year old who wants to join the Uber/Taxify world. He's got valid license and LASDRI and is ready to join as a driver. I have been ghost reading this thread for a long while and I see that you guys are straight shooters. What would be the best path to follow and which would be the best company to go with that can guarantee him some profit at the end of the day. English no too strong so I don't think he'd be able to sit for any written exams. He's been driving for 20 years plus and knows Lagos roads well

He should just register with either or both. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. No written exams really, it's just a logical test for Uber. I don't know if Taxify does any test now.

He, I & many others feel that you ought to understand if you are a driver on any of the platforms.

If truly you don't know, saka or sakamanje is a means or act or process grin whereby some drivers use fraudulent apps or techniques to cheat their riders. The riders are made to pay up to triple of the normal fares.
Wawukulala. This one strong o.

Don't be deceived many drivers are into it, I said so.
But they all pretend not to be doing it, if you even mention it they will all pretend not to know what it is all about.
Only few drivers don't do it, the truth is if u work legit at the end of the day after expenses you will have little or nothing left and headache, waist pain, back pain and other little illness will also be there. That's why many drivers do it though codedly, but if your conscience is still alive it will always disturb you

I really wish we can look at dis from all angles, saka being bad is relative. First rider kept me waiting like there is no tomorrow with promise that he will settle me at the end, he gave me 3k at d end of d trip, i look at him like what are you waiting for? U don't have any change. Second one, the way they mess d car up on a 2k trip, I have to park somewhere and clean up like I'm about to set out for the day. If I know saka outside the high accuracy, this people have push me to give it consideration.

Inbtw sometin interesting happened tonight... I'm on the island ard 5, so I set destination to Ogba, as fate we have it I got a trip going to ogba and drove straight to pick rider, as we approach 3MB, the traffic seem like what d rider can't stand, so he said he is going to stop after 3MB and take a bike... Inside I'm boiling already like "Why do u push me this far". Before we got of 3MB, we engage in chat about Nigeria and politics, that was how we got to Ogba unknowingly. Nigeria truly get problem to say d least grin

My brother you said it all, that's why I said drivers have reasons for doing it too.
Like someone request you and he's using to be pricing items along the street the time she is waisting is gone that day and if u talk they be like "shey it's my money".
I will cut immediately Madam there's no money here it's my time that's rather waisting, if you mind I will take time to explain to you.
Last year December I picked this couple that was busy buying all manner of things all through the journey and we were making stops aimlessly couple with December traffic when we got to the island I checked price and what I saw weak me. Nobody told me to call mister Saka, if you see the way they messed my car and even collected their #100 change I for no fit cry that day if not that I used small Saka console myself.

Is it me or the way this business is.

I carried one girl yesterday and we both agreed that I was going to use the map since we don't know her way.

While driving, she made a call to confirm the route to her destination after which she told me that it seems we are following the wrong direction. I had to reroute to a landmark in the location that she was going and from where the map led us through, we were not in the wrong direction earlier.

15 minutes after, she told me that she knows her way home now that I should end the trip. The girl came down and entered bike.

I drove home from there only to check my phone to see a notification from bolt. The girl gave me a 1 star rating thereby dropping my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars but she didn't stop there. She needed more pound of flesh. She reported me to bolt that I didn't take her to her destination. The bolt agent that contacted me asked me what happened and I explained that the rider requested that I end the trip. There was no altercation or provocation all through the ride duration other than the route we followed.

This girl in question should not be more than 22 years and from her conversation on phone, she schools at Unilag.

My question is, WHY ARE GIRLS NATURALLY WICKED AND HEARTLESS?

If I were to be this girl's brother, would she give me a 1 star and still go ahead to report me for no just reason? What was she trying to achieve actually?

If a lecturer marks her down now for no just reason, you will see her shouting that lecturers are wicked but you see them display their wickedness at the slightest opportunity.

Behind that pretty face with a charming smile is a human being with a black heart as dark as devil. I just don't understand why young girls are the most of the problems in this job.

To switch on that Bolt app dey fear me now. The highest price I have received in this business is N1700 at a trip. This includes fuel and commission. When those are deducted, how much would I have left.

And how many of such fares will I gather to buy a car of over 2 million.

I believe those that said, no saka, no profit in this business. Just a breakeven.

When people enter danfo, they see it as being taken to their destination (a favor from the driver) but when they enter Uber/bolt, they see it that they are helping the driver and his generation to survive (a favor to the driver).

Most of the riders grudgingly pay as though they were forced to use Uber/bolt.

Would it not be safe for them to enter danfo. In the actual sense when you look at the convenience of taking these riders to their destination as against stopping them on the road, you cannot but agree with me that they got a good deal using ehailing

Ha ha, nitori olorun. On top wetin Bros? Make who na remember say you get sister too .

I have sisters - fact!

But the truth is, girls/women are the proverbial 'wicked' generation that the Bible actually referred to.

"can your child ask for bread and you will give them a stone, or a fish and you will give them a snake.

Women know how to love and care for their immediate family and loved ones but when they treat an outsider, you will wonder what creature they are and the creator that created them.

This is a case study https://www.nairaland.com/5381535/tasued-student-pours-hot-water

I am sorry, I have sisters that care so much about me but I'll take no exception here
