I don't like this idea of taking pics of people out on the streets trying to eke out a living, only to post them on social media to mock them!

There are Igbo hating bastards that hate to hear or see anything positive about Alaigbo! We shouldn't let them make us sink to their level!

Anambra state is twenty- eight years today.
It was created in August twenty- seven, 1991 by General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, the then president of Nigeria.

Anambra state since its creation, has lived up to its Sobriquet, light of the Nation witnessed in the remarkable development strides recorded in all parts of the state with a long history of first in Nigeria.

As the eight most populous state in the federation and second most densely populated after Lagos, Anambra has lived up to its billing as a state with immense resources, characterized by people who carry on a most animated business and other relationship with people who come across them.
As Ndi Anambra celebrate, expectations are high that more bonds, and development will spread to all nooks and crannies of the state.

I hate it when they say anambra is 28. The politicians of the state gathered one day and celebrated wrong history and notion.
Anambra and imo where the two igbo states when we had 19 states, anambra gave birth to enugu State.
How do you distort history. Some

If Igbo lands have good leaders with functioning brain ni, thier land should have been the best in Nigeria, do u know a whole SE is less than the size of just one state(Niger) in the north, in term of land mass, Oyo state alone can swallow 3 to 4 states out of the 5 States in the east, it is easier to develop a small portion of land, compare to bigger one, yet Igbo land is nothing to write about, the only aim of their youth in life is to travel to Lagos.
And here is just the bitter truth....

Ibadan is almost 500 years old making it one of the oldest large cities in Nigeria. Its origin dates back to the time when Oyo empire collapsed creating an exodus of people out of Oyo. By the time Ibadan was settled there was no knowledge of the sophisticated architecture you are seeing today,so you can't really fault the people of Ibadan for not using the kind of roofing materials not available to them then. Even at that time ,the decrepit houses you are seeing today are the best anybody could have. The reason those houses are still standing today is because of our low level of economic development. So many of them would have be demolished or renovated if the people have had enough income to do so. Moreover the government doesn't seem to be interested in renovation and preservation of ancient architecture. In fact some of these houses need to be preserved for posterity. This is what China and other serious countries are doing to boost tourism.
It is forward thinking people like you we need in this country but the problem is once you taste power, you would throw away everything that makes you, you and start behaving like typical nigerian leader.

Rochas is a perfect example.

An idiot a whole tribe placed their hope on. If you guys understand how much we loved Rochas, than you would start appreciating why we are hosttile to him.

The old part of Ibadan you posted even looks like one part of America with real city look buildings that were built when your people were living in thatched huts.

Igboland is as very tiny place with millions of brown, rusted roofs and poverty stricken people fleeing to the better more developed, rich SW. wink
Compared those old Ibadan buildings to your new Anambra slums grin

5 dirtiest states in Nigeria
GOODNESS ADAOYICHIE 06/06/2016
Tell your friends

Despite efforts by both the federal and state ministries of environment, some states in Nigeria have remained dirty.
Dustbin Estate in Lagos state
Dustbin Estate in Lagos state
In 1973, the United Nations General Assembly and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) set aside June 5 every year as World Environment Day (WED) to address environmental issues like global warming, deforestation and food shortages among many others.

Considered as one of the greatest annual events, the day aims at raising awareness about the leading issue of environmental sustainability.

Despite efforts by both the federal government and state ministries of environment, some states in Nigeria have remained dirty.

In no particular order, here are the five dirties states in Nigeria;

1. Ekiti state: A recent survey conducted by the Community-led Total Sanitation (CLTS) ranked Ekiti as the state with the highest number of persons who openly defecate in Nigeria. About 1.8 million residents of the state out of a total population of 2.7 million is believed to engage in the menace.

With heaps of waste along the New Ilawe Road (Few kilometres from the state House of Assembly), Ajilosun, Bank road, Oja Oba (Yoruba word meaning "King's market"wink and other locations in the state, Ekiti is sure one of the dirtiest states in Nigeria.

2. Lagos state: Often referred to as the Nigeria's commercial nerve centre, Lagos state is one of the most populated states in Nigeria, a situation which has stretched its infrastructures such as housing, health care, roads and waste management system beyond limits. The resultant effects is the development of suburbs, slums and ghettos with the poorest environmental conditions within the state.

The Dustbin Estate located in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Area which is an expansive shack settlement erected on a heap of refuse located beside a canal, which drains waste, and floodwater out of Ajegunle is a good example.

Despite the activities of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), residents still dump waste in drainages and canals in the state which leads to obstruction of the waterway.

3. Benue state: Also called the "Food basket of the nation," Benue is one of the states with the poorest environmental condition. Makurdi, lacks the features of a modern day state capital. Despite the existence of the popular River Benue, 80 per cent of the city lack potable drinking water. From North Bank, Wurukum, Wadata residents dump waste in drainages, uncompleted buildings and roads.

4. Oyo state: The ancient city of Ibadan is the third most populated city in Nigeria. Like Lagos, its huge population is the major reason for this.

5. Abia state: Popular for the production of over 70 percent of all locally produced goods in Nigeria, Aba (located in Abia state) has been ranked among the dirtiest in the state. Abia is also battling with the case of erosion which constantly destroys roads leading to loss of lives and properties.

This picture is a very deceptive one, 90% of the pictures above is still same road... that is the Enugu -Onitsha express way (Thank God for Peter Obi)if you are really sure of yourself, Take a picture of Zik Avenue, the Eke Awka part when rain is falling... IF Anambra has really changed, why not take the picture of works road, especially the Obinagu junction part... there are potholes all over Awka and the Governor is not doing anything about them.... I’m Yoruba staying in Awka I just hope it could get better... And OP, let’s stop lying for these people they are not worth it.... Awka is not developing
