Points to note.. Awolowo was never part of the coup Southwest was making more money because of cocoa Awolowo got Ojukwu's words that there would not be war Ojukwu renegaded on those words |

Actually I have seen a thread like this earlier and this was not what was said. The topic was restructured because the body of the message is clearly different from the head topic.....So I wonder where the Op lift his head topic from. Adebanjo said it clearly that it was Akintola that betrayed them https://www.nairaland.com/5379926/echoes-1966-some-igbos-lying It was a betrayal by Ladoke Akintola who alleged that some of us, who were dynamic in the party (Action Group) and had a relationship with Nkrumah who had a dynamic political party in Ghana, were planning to topple Balewa government No be even today the betrayal started, the betrayal is wayback. Is inbuilt. It was Akintola that betrayed Awolowo and was clearly written here. It was the insistence of Chief Awolowo to keep the Eastern Region in the federation that made Gowon fight the war because Gowon was not prepared to allow the East to go The unity begging no be today ooooo...it been long long. Yorubas una too like unity die ooooo (Smilling) That is why some westerners said we should not do anything with the East because they are not reliable. The Igbo have not been fair to us at all. I disagree with Adebanjo here. You lied. Igbos have been fair to yorubas right from ages but the reverse is the case. The fairness of Igbos to yorubas can never be equalled or un-paralled in anyway. But what we get in return is the reverse. Adebanjo you lied here. |

These so-called elder statesmen are not helping our national integration cause. Why stoke the embers of ethnic hatred or spin controversial narratives? If Igbo elders come up with their own narratives against Awolowo and the southwest, how does this help our unity as a people. We should forget the ugly past and forge ahead in unity as a people. We can help you professionally prepare your business plans. Chat me up through the numbers in my signature. Thanks ahead! |

Insightful interview. However, Pa Ayo needs to realize that the decision to go to war was beyond Ojukwu. Igbos were being killed in thousands in the north, the last straw being the trailer of dead bodies that was sent to Enugu through Benue. Igbos had no other option than to fight back cos even the Army and Police supposed to protect them were enabling the pogrom. Till date nobody has paid for those blood curling crimes. Let us face the truth for once! |

Just watch how an average Igbo man call you, that is a true representation of him. ![]() They will say others are jealous when they are the most jealous, hateful and bitter. They will call others betrayers when in real life, they can betray their own blood just because of #100. ![]() Abegiii!!! |

Since Adebanjo says north will not give power to south In 2023, that then means he knows that Nigeria is not a democracy, Nigeria is a country owned by northern Nigeria. Who in his right head from the south will want to belong to a country like Nigeria? Why don't Adebanjo call for secession of Oduduwa Republic from Nigeria. Because according to Adebanjo, the Yoruba has no powers in Nigeri?

Awolowo was betrayed by his own yoruba brothers it was all a western affair and ojukwu had nothing to do with it, why is ojukwu's name been mentioned here? Why is afonja op twisting the story to blame the igbos about what happened in yoruba land between awolowo and his brothers |

Igbos that betrayed Ojukwu and Jim Nwobodo to support Obasanjo at the pdp primary election will betray 1000 Awolowo, so it's not a surprise. |
