Accounting is not Economics and she's definitely not qualified

30% of revenue already services debt. What do you want? 80% debt? Right now no major devt or brand new infrastructure project that wasn't started by previous admins.

State govts have borrowed so much that they can't finish paying in 20years if no new loans where taken today. Obasanjo and Ngozi brought us out of debt, these bush people want to borrow money that will all but sure be stolen immediatley and automatically guarantee failure for unborn generations.

I am a Nigerian from Imo and

I have an idea that i think would really help imo state greatly. Especially its economy.

I am of the notion that Okorochas Eastern palm university should not be used as a campus of IMSU.
Let the status quo remain or they shift it to Mbano zone as Rochas planned.

Instead let the Eastern palm University be used as a transport university, it would be the first in the south since the only available one is at Katsina.

This would naturally attract investment and improve the economy, cause i sense Nigeria is about to withness a boom in that sector.

WHATS YOUR TAKE

She isn't asking for new loans , she is saying that the current loans are a problem because we are not generating enough revenue,

Every country had debt, America those but it isn't an issue because they generate so much .

Even if we stop borrowing, if our revenue doesn't increase geometrically, we are going to run into problem, salary is eating a big chunk, a lot of infastructions to put in place.

Any sensible person knows to peg his debt burden close his revenue profile - what you earn determines how much you can borrow - so what is that stupīd aboki woman saying?!! China, India, Brazil are net- producers, who don't have the monstrous balance of payments challenge that Nigeria has always had, and they are not a mono-product economy.

This is what Nigeria gets when it is governed by incompetent and greedy people. They appoint fools into managerial posts just to further their own selfish ends.

Did you read it at all? Did you read where the CBN said the debt rose from $18.9 billion in December 2017 to $25.6 billion in March 2019? Or where he stated that the total public debt rose from $79.4 billion at the end of December 2018 to $81.2 billion at end of March 2019.

What a waste of investment if you can't read before you posted this trash. I pity your parent.... owo wogbo omo.

We all know this is a lie but keep fooling yourself. Buhari is yet to borrow additional fund since the election, Nigeria debt profile was over flogged before n after the presidential election with overwhelming evidence that PDP already ruined Nigeria debt n credit profile. All this money, Nigeria is borrowing whether APC or PDP, What are they using it for? Not one Refinery built. Civil servants owed salary. No Industries created. Education only marginally improving. What are they using it for? The only money I see in Nigeria is in dezianis account and tinubus bullion vans. Nigerian politicians not only steal from us but then borrow money in our names, steal it and expect us to pay it back.

the present CBN governor is a bloody thief. unlike Sanusi, we miss that sincere man. these days banks scam ppl anyhow. now i save money in bottle, after all there is nothing like 'interest' in Nigerian banks.

In just 4 years Buhari has borrowed more than any other govt in our history and has the absolutely zero to show for the borrowing , he has not built a single road , he has not built a single power plant , he has not purchased a single equipment for the police or military ..The next govt has huge investigation to do to unravel where Buhari has been spending all these monies because nobody can see it

Ignorance is your problem

Igiot follow follow Zombie.. Nigeria has been running a deficit budget from Obj era till now, but GMB increased the size of the budget by 100% and tripped borrowing. Size of FG’s budget under GEJ was 4.2tn while GMB increased it to 8.2tn when economy was shrinking and he borrowed about 100% of the sharp increase to fund a deficit budget... And most importantly, that borrowing was used to fund recurrent expenditure.. chop monet.. about $2bn@N600bn was mapped for social programs under presidency without a ministerial supervision.

Quota system minister of finance.
How can Nigeria's huge debt not be a problem?

You want to borrow this country to death?

If you had applied more sense to the issue rather than your prejudice perhaps you might have noticed that both were more or less saying the same thing.

If you look past through the long grammar and figures the other side were posting; then you would see that real issue of concern (like the minister said) is not the actual size of our debt but the (lower than desired) REVENUE we are generating.

The only difference between them is their choice of words: it's like comparing the statements 'the cup is half full' against 'the cup is half empty' - both effectively being the same thing but viewed from different perspectives; one being optimistic while the other is pessimistic.

STF.. They were saying different things . The willfully ignorant minister was saying the size of man’s household...should be used to determine his credit worthiness while the knowledgeable banker was saying that the man’s income should be considered given the fact servicing of his existing loan is based on his income not the size of his household.. GOT it?
