So sorry about your refusal, what did you study in your undergraduate and what is your current profession. I think the VO is not convinced about your proposed program being related to your previous study & work experience. So you have to do a lot of work convincing the VO.

2. Does your uncle bears the same surname as you do. if No did you explain the relationship btw the two of you and the the reason(s) he is sponsoring you. In his letter did he state exact amount he will sponsoring you with.

How did you show you ties. Do you have any land properties, family land properties, did you include siblings birth certificate, are you married, if yes then use you spouse as your ties. you can also use your chances of employment upon completion of program as your ties.

I studied Mechanical Engineering and I'm working as a Technical Operations Engineer. I've been a banker before i got back to my career path.

My Uncle bears my mother's maiden name. The exact amount wasn't stated.

I think It's the family ties that I didn't put much reference.

Thanks

Try to work on your SOP, also work on the above corrections. Let the VO know that at this stage of ur career, that ur proposed program is very much needed; give genuine instance.
your mother birth certificate & ur uncle birth certificate would be fine. let him also state the amount and why is sponsoring you. Give your SOP to people you believe & trust to proofread for you. that is very necessary.

Well, you've said my mind.

Procedural fairness letter on account statement doesn't necessarily mean that the SOA is fraudulent

If you submit an account statement from uncle, aunt, friends or from someone you don't know, you're prone to get the procedural fairness letter.

Austacus, longest time.

I dey come Ottawa, Nigerian Embassy, God willing on Tuesday, if you are free, we fit hook up.

I go need where I fit chop better amala, gbegiri and ewedu soup grin

Sorry about your refusal your purpose of visit refusal most likely came from the inability to link the proposed program to your past education experience or a poor/vague SOP. Also you most likely failed to establish your family composition in Nigeria and how well grounded they are in your home country(Nigeria). Minor tweaks in your next application can Land you your study visa approval. All the best....

eh God, Nigerians get money o.

I am just here thinking, what if there was no Nairaland? Agents go dey build house for Banana Island o shocked

Even with the free information and free help on Nairaland, most applicants still don't have the confidence to read up and do the process themselves. There is just this fear Nigerians have when it comes to visa processing.

Life is funny, graduates paying ridiculous amount of money to agents (mostly non graduates), to help them with application and visa processing for post graduate studies in Canada grin

I too done don't get why they capitalize on SOP, purpose of visit bores down to alot of things, like school gap, previous experience, current experience financial, anything at all that would lead to doubts of genuineness ..
Austacus:

Why do you guys believe SOP is the ultimate success upon Visa approval?

If that would be the case, a lot of people would be in the US and Canada by now cause it takes nothing to look for a good writer or someone that would orient you (for interview)

All your documents, balls down to all the refusal grounds.

See, your issue here is finance. (finance also balls down in purpose of visit. If you like write heaven and earth SOP and don't work on your finance same result will happen.( let your documents speak volume if your SOP). more so, if you change to MSC it will help too. You see, pgd/c is quite easier for fresh graduate. I am not saying pgd/c is impossible
(pgd/c, diploma should always come with strong application).

What you should have done for submitting such amount in your application is, you should have analyze the breakdown of your finances using Oanda in CAD by including your mom's money, aunt money, tuition fee paid and your account EVERYTHING All TOGETHER.

your aunt should have been your primary target cause moms account is 5m

She should have submitted a very good and detailed sponsorship letter explaining how committed she is.

(US citizen) they would believe her easily than those people that use distance uncle, aunt, Inlaw etc in Nigeria

She should have submitted anything that shows she has a good job or business.
Even if she submits $500 it may pass cause in Canada and US, ”you're richer than you think” . Only a few people would understand that statement.

Your next application is either your mom top up her account, or your aunt should be your primary target even though she would stand as the co-sponsor in your application.

PS: I am not against SOP but if you submit a very good, reasonable and convincing aapplication, even half page of SOP will pass.

Lemme stop here,
Your application is not airtight and your solution is not SOP.

It's laughable my dear, if you secured your first degree yourself, what stops you from securing another? Lack of confidence, u said it all, oyibo are humans too, they are not masquerades to be scared of, just believe in yourselves and in God too, most importantly.

For sure! So long as you've made considerable arrangements for the baby over there and also show adequate funds to cover for the child's stay in Canada.
