Good day all, thanks for the information provided here so far.

I am a national diploma holder in mechanical engineering (ND CERTIFICATE).

Can I start the process with it or I need to acquire additional certificate

Hello guys pls I need suggestions. I'm currently in Australia studying for my master's degree (on student visa). I got a positive assessment outcome from vettasses for my nominated occupation (Valuer) after I assessed with my Naija B.Sc.(in Estate management). I'm 30yrs old.

The thing now is, I don't know if I should go ahead with the process of applying for any of the 190/189/491 visas or should I wait and finish up my studies (I hv a yr to finish) so I can get the 2yrs study-in-Australia point. Since I've got no points to claim for work experience. Based on my total point estimate, I stand at 65.

It is enough to shoot your shot.
Get your PassPo.
Go speak English
Assess what you have.
Jump into the pool.
Let nature sort things out.

Hello everyone,

I'm quiet new to this whole migration thing, i am not quite sure on how to confirm which tier my university falls into. Can anyone help me out.

My first degree: UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA (UNN)

Second degree: UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS

Thanks in advance
You didn't state the courses?
The years you obtained these degrees and the occupation you want to assess will help give the required info.

It all depends on you.
If you have the required points to apply for any of the visa classes, pls do asap. You may likely have gotten grant when you finish your studies due to the current processing times.
Also bear in mind that time waits for no one and the migration requirements may be more stringent when you are done with your studies.
I'd advise you lodge your EOI asap for 189 (assuming the 65 points is for 189) pending when states will update their occupation list by November.

Good luck

I'm not sure if you will get a positive assesment from AACA due to recent results I have seen. Most Architects go through Architectural draftsperson which is assessed by Vetassess however Vetassess requires at least 1 year experience to give you a positive assessment.

Let me commend everyone that has contributed to d success of this thread, I have been a silent reader of both parts of this thread. My profile is

Age.
Edu HND civil eng 10pt
English test targeted 10pt
Experience. 2011 til date 15pt
Total 60pt

I decided to go for skill 2 civil engineering technician and its asses by vetasses n I'm targeting state/regional nominations. I was employed by local govt service commission n I have been transfer to 3 different local govt during d course of my employment, my question is
1) is it d service commission dat will write my statement of service or each of the local govt I was transfer to ?
2) since the commission/local govt does not have a functioning website or email or phone number, what are my options.

Hello Bellong and other AUS people, i greet una ooo

Please what are the chances of a banker with 8 years experience and about 40 years of age, B.Sc to migrate to Australia? I know for Canada, Age will practically make it impossible. How does Australia PR work? I heard the change the requirements often. Please i just need a brief summary. Thanks

It depends on what you do in the bank. If your job descriptions in the bank align with any of the sponsored occupations, you have a good chance in the migration pathway.

@Benrichard,

What do you do for LGSC? Your job descriptions will determine your occupation. What you are currently worrying about is the least of your worries.

If you can provide your roles there, I can give you idea of what to do.

You are onshore, you cannot apply for 190 or 489/491 for now because no state will sponsor you if you live outside their state. Your state of residence will not likely nominate you except you have a qualification from the state or you are currently working in the nominated occupation in the state.

Your option is to put in your EOI and keep waiting till the possibility of Home Affairs inviting 65 points for your occupation.

There is no occupation to align your current experience with at the moment. Other option is to apply through study and work your way to permanent resident.

Thank you. I am actually asking for a friend. He was talking about Canada but i told him he has better chances in AUS than Canada due to age. He is into Fund transfer though i didn't see any job title like that in the occupation list

You can ask about his spouse's occupation. The spouse may be in a better position as the principal applicant.
