Before i thought all six south west state are fully Yorubas.
But recently a man who i thought is a yoruba man was arrested(sowore) that was when i get to know he is an ijaw from ondo state.


My question now is between ijaw and yorubas who have more population in ondo.

Correct, my parents are from imo state. Burna boy's father is from a town called Ahoada and it is near the border of Imo but was put in rivers state. This is typical manipulation of the creation of rivers state.

You know Yorubas successfully put all this non Yorubas tribes as Yorubas because other Nigerians don’t put division among them the same way Yorubas and the North put divisions between the Igbos and related tribes in Niger Delta because of oil.

In real situation Aworis, Eguns, Ilaje have a unique language that a Yoruba man cannot understand when they are speaking it.

Too many jobless Igbos running around on this forum. Since it has been established that Sowore isn't Yoruba but ijaw, why then are Igbos trying endlessly to paint his activities as a Yoruba struggle?? Na Yoruba people send am? Or did he say he was fighting on Yoruba behalf? Even if he were Yoruba, he won't be the first Yoruba person that would run afoul of the law and jailed as a result so he should bear his cross.

As per who owns Ondo, I am sure the Ondos are more than capable of speaking for themselves.

There's a local government in ondo that has a high number of ijaws.....the riverine area of ondo is still populated by Yoruba's.... But we have indigenous Western Apoi tribe of the Ijaw people in Ondo State, the tribe (also called Ijaw Apoi or Apoi) consists of nine settlements: Igbobini, Ojuala, Ikpoki, Inikorogha, Oboro, Shabomi, Igbotu, Kiribo and Gbekebo.......the same way we have Yoruba's in Edo state....that's where sowore is from

I'm from okitipupa and can hear ilaje ......ilaje people hear Yoruba.....dey only speak dialect....egun is a very different matter....BTW there are also ilaje's in Ogun and a few in epe in Lagos state ...that's how the rumour of ambode being a ondo man started.

I'm telling you that what is happening in Ondo is like what is happening in Edo and Kwara. Over the last few days, I have come to the realisation that some people's only purpose in live is centred around making tribalistic and divisive comments on nairaland.

Many of them have lost every sense of purpose after the whole of Nigeria showed solidarity and spoke with one voice against what is going on in South Africa.


One of them is the op who makes tribal comments all day on nairaland.
