Hello beautiful people,

Please i need your wisdom...

So i know one shouldn't stay outside the Uk for more than 180days in a calendar year.. is it 90 or 180 days?

However, pls what does "calendar year" mean? if i go in October 2019, does the 180days count for 2019 or i shouldn't stay out for more than 180 days for the period, October 2019 - October 2020?

I have some projects to wrap up that might mean i go to UK get BRP in oct 2019 then come back to Naija in same Oct 2019, then finish d projects for Dec 2019/Jan 2020. Then i go bk finally to the Uk..

Does that work out?

Please i need an urgent response.

Thanks for anticipated support.

You know already so what is your question? Is October to December 2019 equal to 180 days (as you know)? If so there lies your answer.
Calender year is, in your example,October 2019 to October 2020.
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by profemebee(m): 9:27pm On Sep 07, 2019
Thanks for the confirmation..

I wasn't sure when the start date of the one year will be..

I actually love the potus tweet to the mayor of London.
The crime rate in London is escalating by the day. London is a place I cannot live no matter the incentives. Reminds me of Johannesburg.
Add Manchester too.

What’s wrong with Manchester?

London has different areas ... I live in west London. It very quiet, I don't hear much of crime . Apart from some area in west there are many other areas in London North, central and south that are extremely safe, neat and beautiful

I'm also interested in this.
Want to share my savings into H2B, LISA, fixed-rate savings account, etc.

Help to buy ISA is not a bad idea, its a free money from the govt for first time buyers. You 25% from the govt to match up the amount you saved +up to 2.6% interest tax-free

Thanks my love. My problem is not even busy areas or not. Just little mistakes. Like yesterday, I missed a right turn (I didn’t know I was meant to pull into the service lane), so I got shocked when I noticed my mistake and just stepped in the brakes. No minor. Just that I stepped on my brakes without looking at my mirror.

I tried to explain to the instructor that it was nerves that I panicked, but no use. I know it’s a mistake but haba. Small mercy now.

You could have been easily rear ended by another driver when you brake suddenly. It’s not the end of the world though. Better luck next time.

Your instructor should know all the test routes. Mine did and I practiced on all the routes. During my test, it was just a cruise and banter with the examiner.

My few tips are:

Be calm. Whatever is the outcome at the end, has been destined. You can’t change it. However, do your very best.

Mindfulness: Complete one task at a time. Anticipate well ahead. I was thought to assume the first three drivers in front are drunk teens.

Checks and balances: Keep in mind this is your hard earned money. You’ve paid to prove your worth to some stranger who you probably drive better than on a normal day. Prove them wrong!

All the best and good luck wink

.

Was there recently, they asked wether you want it mailed to you or you want to pick up. If you go for the mail option, they'll give you a royal mail mailing bag and you'll have to go to the post office to pay, seems they have a deal with royal mail, return the bag and hopefully they'll send the passport to you. I went with the pickup option, don't want stories that touch.

I’m currently doing the LISA with moneybox. So all my change goes into it + my weekly payments of £70. It’s just a way to save. Then there’s the benefit of get 25% of what you saved back. So if I save 4k, I get 5k towards my house. Even if I migrate at the end of the day, I’ll just lose the govts 25% and keep my savings. Win win.

LMAO. I read this earlier today and I laughed in shock.

When you're bringing in lawyers, you no get sense to know say dem dey charge like leeches/succubus? smh.

My very first day of driving alone in Glasgow (after passing driving test & pass plus), I got 2 tickets and was charged £120 for driving in bus lane. They offered me 50% if I paid early sha, which I did.
The annoying thing was the car rental company now charged me £40 for administration fee! embarassed

Unfortunately, in their terms of rental (which we never read), that administration charge would be clearly stated....

Lesson learnt though.......... cheesy

I challenged a parking ticket at an Asda store because there was no signs where I parked and I won. They only had signs at the entrance, could have easily been missed. It was more about the principle and I was ready to go to court. They quickly went to install signs after a couple of weeks.
