BlakKluKluxKlan:

Last July, there was a newspaper publication about PTAD paying 12 months arrears of the 33% increase to parastatals. We therefore thought that Nitel,Mtel would be covered only to have the July MP unpaid. We do not know yet whether we shall be paid the part-arrears or not.
Our current MP includes the 33% increase with effect from last October.
This is where the so called representatives should come in and clearify. I'm not too sure they have been doing much to help in that aspect. The truth is it is only them that can really have first hand info on the modalities that was used by Ptad in computing all these monies. Ptad is not transperent enough in telling us how the computation was done. Its unfortunate that its now that we are beginning to see all these things. @Brosiye said a Ptad staff told him that nitel/mtel stafff are not entitled to the 33% increase. He said it has already been computed in the pensions payment that took effect in October, last year. I still insist that those representatives should come forth with more details on what they negotiated with Ptad.

The simple truth is that the 33% increase dated back to before our disengagement if i'm not mistaken. I can't remember the exact year whether 2004 or so but it has been pending for years.
Another fact is that yes, it was computed with our MP from October last year same way it was done with all other federal pensioners as at when they were captured for monthly payments.
The arrears we're talking about is from the time of approval to the month prior to commencement of MP which was September in the case of Nitel, Mtel.
My point is, if we're qualified for the increase, then we are equally qualified for the arrears, right ? Otherwise, PTAD was wrong to've computed it with our MP. But they were not because we are federal pensioners, period. Whoever said we are not entitled for it at the PTAD office could only have been blabbing and not talking sense.

Good day house, been a while. I guess you are all enjoying your little pensions and keeping body and soul together? Pls can someone confirm the tweet by the Ptad boss about our arrears not been captured in the 2019 budget? Its like she is saying we have to wait for it to be captured in the 2020 budget, or did I miss understand her?

Literally, yes. To further confirm that, the president of Nitel mtel pensioners association, alhaji Nakande, at the election of Lagos zone officers this week at Cappa, Oshodi, stated that the arrears had just been captured in the 2020 budget. It will be paid in 2 instalments of a bulk of 5yrs while the remaining 2 years will be spread over some months.
However, the denial of the arrears in 2019 budget is shrouded in mystery because it was confirmed to've been captured therein earlier.

Don't send any money to anyone. Those ATEN people are the greatest scammers ever. They are not afraid to lie and extort money from some pensioners who are not well informed. Do think they will prosper by these scams?

They're receiving their monthly pension from PTAD but it is apparently not enough for them so they want to eat people's money and live big. God is watching them. Greedy lots.

Any bulk payment would come from the FG through PTAD and it will only be for the years of 2012 and 2018 outstanding monthly pension arrears.

There is nothing like 20 years pension buy out. It won't happen now or in the future.

The statement from the so called ATEN is very laughable. I'm surprised they still have the guts. They look desperate. Like @brosiye has said, only and only @ptad have the mandate to pay any monies to all ex mitel/mtel staff. Please no one should be deceived, the issue of 20 buy out has died (with the introduction of monthly pensions), except ATEN are trying to say all the pensions received since 2018 will be returned. We have gone past that one now. What we are concerned about now is how the FG will fund @ptad to pay the accumulated arrears btw 2012 to when pensions started. Please and please, lets be guided.

I really didn't want to respond to you cos you have shown little or no knowledge about this group nor the predicaments of the fellows here. You don't know where we were, where we are and where we are going. As such, let me just leave sleeping dogs lie and let you be with your intelligence and sophisticated brain.

It doesn't have to be returned. It's simple, all they have to do is balance up your remain months or years arrears and life goes on.

And I'm not saying anyone should pay money to anybody. I was once scamed of #2000 in the name of Nitel union fighting for pensioners in 2015 thereabout. I don't know why some Nitel staff have become so greedy to the extent of scaming fellow staffs.

@pusapou: we thank God we're able to take care of ourselves with the monthly pension. No matter how small, it is better than when we had nothing.
I would like to ask if you heard anything on the arrears. Is there any provision in 2020 budget to cover part or all of the arrears.

Abeg give us information on the arrears if you have. It will be good if even one or two years arrears are paid this year.

arewaa I believe our arrears will be paid this year 2020 judging from all indications .If as at today with my MP however small , I can safely walk in to any Pharmacy store to buy my medications prescribed by my doctor instead of buying my medications from aboki, malam shop near by House which was doing before . From what I read from ptad angle, I believe our arrears will be paid this year 2020.

I have long chosen to remain silent on this matter, I only wish to sound a reminder. When at any cross roads or delima, let your decisions be long-term based. I sounded this alarm when we were at the crossroads but generally Africans have this syndrome of not being able to settle for the best no matter the cost. I even went as far as to share a comment from a Nigerian airways retiree who said PTAD almost pay rolled them but they stood thier ground for bulk settlement. I guess hunger made us all give in to ptad scheme. A reminder also, despite the deceptive rumours about Atens members all recieving MP, there are ex staff who haven't received a penny because they stood thier ground. It's a pity how I go through social media and see how impatient people who have gotten MP for over a year now and yet thier cries louder than a delivering mother. As if we all didn't know what we were signing up for.
Now ears are scratching for information. Where are the so called unionists now? Everyone is silent now, of cause they are all uninformed.
I would have symphatized with our predicament but the Atens members who haven't recieved a dime are the only ones deserving symphaty, of cause they are the only right minded ex nitel employees. Please let us endeavour to teach our children to always stand for what's right. Africa has seen enough of weak people who are always quick to compromise at the sight of the smallest peanut.
