Definitely you are the traitor, Abiola a man from south got a block vote from core north, kano state inclusive, because of your hatred towards the people of the southwest, Igbo voted tofa that was gorgeously rejected in his hometown kano, check south south result, their level of political maturity , obasanjo was never an anointed candidate in the west, till today obasanjo is not politically relevant in the southwest, if east was to follow south agenda as they proclaimed, they would have supported olu falae against northern agenda of installing obasanjo.

Ode!! You go and check south east well, Abiola won anambra state so massively, I don't think even Peter Obi got the kind of support MKO did in the state, And that's considering the fact that MKO blatantly disrespected and disregarded the igbos.. silly afonja

I'll have you know that most northern youths see El-Rufai as a presidential material, a natural successor to Buhari

You can't make this assertion without hard data bro. Are you in Northern Nigeria? What research did you carry out or how have you been able to make such a sweeping statement? I have a cluster of northern youth mainly from Kaduna who cannot stand Elrufai's guts but I can't use that as a premise to state that the north is anti-ElRufai. The only similarity between Rufai and PMB in my opinion, is their nepotism and religious bigotry, one only hides his own better than the other. Outside that, ElRufai is not as unintelligent as PMB but he's more dangerous and power will uncloak is megalomania.

I'm in northern Nigeria and I know what i'm saying. Those youths you say may be from southern Kd. Dat is naturally understandable. Besides that, educated and politically conscious northern youths esp muslims like El-Rufai as much as they detest Tinubu. I hope you're aware that presently in northern Nigeria, the narrative is that Tinubu is a thief and therefore not fit for the presidency. Most of them prefer an Osinbajo presidency to Tinubu.. Most of them see El-Rufai as Buhari's godson and a fearless defender of northern interest and hegemony. Osinbajo's problem is with the cabal though. He has offended them heavily and they intend to deal with him this second term as events in the past week has proved

As much as I don't like this thread and it's insensitivity, yes, the Igbos supported Ex president Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2003.

He was in PDP and defeated Odimegwu Ojukwu in some Eastern states

Ojukwu under an alleged ethnic party, APGA and had no national appeal as a candidate to win Presidential election. Those who voted for OBJ in the East decided to make their votes count.

Don't forget that the north supported OBJ as at then

I disagree with u sir. South west has been in the mainstream of Nigeria politics since 1999. South east produced senate president during obj eight years of ruling. South east also held the head of economy team during obasanjo. Also during GEJ, south east was also positioned at the key ministries. Records are there to check all these facts

Abiola chose a Muslim Kingibe as vice that's why the Igbos who are almost all Christians did not support him. Abiola was insensitive and it was lack of Igbos support that prevented him from being president.
Seetto:

This is june12 result, south east gorgeously voted against a man from south west, abiola, abiola won in most part of north including tofa home town kano, this shows the level of Igbo hatred against Yoruba, you voted obasanjo because you have no option, this is also against southwest candidate, the person of olufalae, today u guys are demonising tinubu for forming alliance with buhari.

South east is the greatest betrayal and reason why south is united.
Re: 2023 Presidency: El-rufai’s Men Rev Up Campaign by DMerciful(m): 5:17pm On Sep 21, 2019
You are just being deceitful. We have 6 regions in Nigeria but you want the rotation btw North and South so that North West and South West keeps rotating the presidency btw them. What about SE,NE, and NC? There has to be equity. SW has done 8yrs so it should go to SE then NC or NE. Else every region go their own way.
seunmsg:

Why should PDP present a northerner? It is southerners like you that are giving the North ideas.

In 2007, Obasanjo had the choice of handing over to a southerner. He could easily have given that PDP ticket to Odili and mobilize the entire southern region and north central to vote him in. However, he took the part of honor by supporting Yar’adua from the north because that was the right thing to do. The opposition party then also did their part. ANPP and AC both presented a northerner because it was the turn of the north.

What I don’t get is why you southerners are advocating for the opposition party to present a northerner. What is wrong in PDP presenting Jonathan or Peter Obi? Why are you making it look like northerners have two heads so they cannot respect a simple rotational agreement in the interest of peace and unity?

By the last count, there were more than two popular igbos candidates in the last election, and can you tell this honourable House how you igbos supported your candidates. In specifics, tell us the number of votes and the position they scored there in each of the five states of the East.

Do this or cover your face in shame.

You should also tell us why the Yorubas abandoned their own and went for Buhari in this election where a Yoruba contested as president.

Interesting take. The pulse in Northern Nigeria right now isn't anywhere near looking forward to a PMB successor, the North is being betrayed presently, and we're learning a brutal lesson. El Rufai is in a grey area, pseudo intellectual who wants to appeal to the northern mass by pandering to ethnic and religious division. I can't see the future, but Abba Kyari is the de-facto president of Nigeria, and he's not having any of this El Rufai repackaging, thankfully.

How is the north being betrayed? They voted massively for buhari despite his forgettable first term. Abba kyari was there throughout the first term doing his thing. No northerner came out to complain against him. So where's the betrayal coming from?
