Back in the Uni, my friends were engineering students, with all the "we are important" mentality, almost convinced me to switch from Management during my yr 1, I did write Jamb in my yr 1 but never checked the score till date!


I told myself, "Am I leading their lives or mine?" And I found the answer.

While studying, I did private tutorials, home computer lessons and by final year, I bought my first car (a tuketuke, Toyota Corolla) and had drivers use it for taxi while I faced my studies. At a time, the drivers were not giving me returns and I parked it. After my final examinations, I did the taxi myself (I wasn't ashamed even if I did it in school environment). By the time I was serving Nigeria, NYSC, I sold the tuketuke and bought a cleaner my second car. From there, was my headstart and the rest was history.


Today, I am a married man, drive a car, business man, and blogger-by-passion but most of those my friends are unemployed till date.

i shouldn’t be arguing with u.teeming supporters most commissioners are technocrats they don’t have any supporter.the ones that have supporters don’t give their boys money everyday.party activities don’t come daily and party isn’t funded by one person alone.

Egbon, all "boys" don't come everyday and same day. Nigerian youths go to their pay masters house (politicians) daily. The "payment" or settlement continue in a circle. Hon. How many commissioners and ministers are technocrats in Nigeria? Most commissioners are appointed based on the active role they play in Gubernatorial elections.

Not like there aren't opportunities o. There's NBC, UAC, dominos, some Pharmaceutical companies etc that pay really well at entry level o. It's just that it's so much tougher to get in with no experience and without knowing anybody.

I'll advice you start getting as many experiences as you can while you're yet in school. If you have to volunteer, please do

I practically decided to go through all the pages in this thread to see if I can find my course geology alas I did. bro I'm a fresh geology graduate, 2.1 currently doing my nysc but to be honest, I seem lost here in port Harcourt you'll tell them you did geology and they'll be like wow tell them to give you job you'll be hearing lemme see what I can do there is little or nothing for geology graduates without connections. I'm looking to go for HSE training to see if I can meet my destiny helper there. God help us all

I studied geology because of this same mindset, I wanted to break into the Oil and Gas sector atall cost.

I dey find "oyel money"

But then life hits us all, 80% of all my geology guys are not working in a Geo Field, be it oil and gas or mining.

most are doing something totally unrelated (banking, tech, Education etc)
Even the best guy in my set is not practicing in that field now.

Except you go open your own Borehole company, lol

Don't Goan waste money ontop those HSE1,2,&3 training, except you get a job there at PH.

If I could roll back the hands of time, I would have listened to our sec.sch teachers who were persuading us to try abroad.

I have B.Sc in Geography for almost 4 years now, no job. I don't even know which line of work one can do with Geography, I was good in school tho. Eventually, I ended up doing menial work, inside life.

If I had the opportunity to change it, I will go for Mechanical Engineering. I love practical and field work. #construction #builders #architects.

If you can read GIS (Geographic information system /science) that would be good. Search and get more info on it.
