Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by deveid: 10:27am On Sep 25, 2019
I have done the medicals requested by the embassy. But the admission letter I submitted was for fall 2019 but now the embassy said is asking for a new admission letter dated at least January 2020 upwards. The school has given me an updated admission for September 2020 but I am looking to apply to another program ('Msc computer science )which will resume January 2020.

1. If I get another school which will resume January will the embassy accept the new admission letter from a different school?

2. Does anyone know any MSC computer science program still open for application to resume January 2020

Ok.
@ frankrobinn1, please concerning My Sop for reapplication, do I have to start first by
addressing those 3 reasons given for refusal before going on to write the main body of Sop and if yes,please what do you think will be the best reason given to those refusal reasons like family ties- will I say it was an oversight on my part for not to have submitted birth certificate and my family pictures in the first application?
Then for current employment situation,in my first application I submitted employment letter and references letter like ( to whom it may concern) then company,previous employment letters,Id, now what is the best reason to give now that am submitting approved one year(unpaid)study leave letter,comprehensive introductory letter, 3 months payslips,pension registration certificate,new salary review letter from the company for the second application.please what is the best reason to give not to have submitted these documents before,will I say oversight on my part again,PLEASE NOTE that I got to know about naira land forum after submitting my first application,this forum really open my eyes ooo,.kudos to you guru guys in the house.
Also as a senior customer service officer with Bsc in Business Administration now going for one year professional certificate course in economic in UR,Canada.please can you suggest to me which other genew reasons that I can use as back
Up points to proof and justify for my decision. Pls can I forward my newly drafted Sop to you soo that you can guide me properly on what to do.
As I need to refire back my application again soon with January 2020 resumption in-view. I don't know if sending drafted sop to this platform is allowed. That's why I need you to pm me, pls help me out. Thanks a lot. God bless you.
Hi,

First and foremost, you've to start by tackling the concerns raised by the visa officer in your GCMS notes as well as the generic reasons that were stated on your refusal letter before proceeding to the statement of purpose, which will further solidify your purpose of VIsit. The letter used to address those concerns can be termed as Letter Of Explanation, whilst the SOP - would be to explain your intent to study the program in Canada, the school and future career prospects back home.

You shouldn't state that it was an oversight from your end not to have included sufficient ties that can compel your return home in your previous application. You're free to add new documentations like buildings, landed properties, investments in the bank in an effort to tackle the visa officer's concerns and this wouldn't raise an eyebrow in your next application. All you need to do is to go straight to the point, mention the ties you've back home - Your aged parents who are getting older and require your constant support, are you the eldest in the family? you can also explain convincingly the bond you share with your immediate younger ones. Are you married, your spouse and kids are significant ties to your country of citizenship. Let the visa officer know that your family is very important to you and can't be trade for an Canadian stay, if you belong to any reputable organization in your local church or community, you can state your obligations within the organization that will motivate your return home etc.

As per the current employment situation as a reason for a VISA refusal, simply admit the fact that it was non-inclusion of relevant information/documents in support of your employment that fetched you a refusal based on this ground. For this reason, you've now included adequate proof to your current employment in home country - also mention your current job title, what the company is into (the services the company provides to the masses/public), mention your annual gross pay and attach the study leave letter stating that you will return back to your current employer after the completion of your studies to resume/occupy your position in the company.

I hope the professional certificate is in tandem with your previous studies/current employment in Nigeria? Also, be sure it's higher than your already completed degree, because I find out that some applicants do mistakenly apply for a post secondary diploma program with a belief that is a post graduate certificate, which at the end leads to a VISA rejection. Take your time to check what this professional certificate is all about. So you don't make same mistakes as other prospective applicants do.

In respect to your request, I will not be available to vet the letter for you considering the short time for your reapplication. Though, there are other knowledgeable and trusted individuals on this window who can assist you in reviewing and making corrections in the letter where applicable. I strongly apologize for any inconveniences this might cause you.

I hope this helps.

It shall end in praises.

For biometrics its just a Walk in. But, medicals you're expected to book an appointment upfront prior to undertaking a medical exam.

Let me add to what qudkom said. Long post alert.

(1) Getting a part time job depends on city and province. If you search on Indeed and physically go and hand in your resume in companies, you will get a job. Please don't be choosy, any job that comes first, do it.

(2) Canada education is not hard (my opinion) but it is super stressful and demanding. Make sure you have the right team. Ensure you move with people who share same goals with you. There will be days you will feel like giving up or no motivation to continue, it is your friends/team that will boost your morale in those low moments. There will be days you will have multiple assignments, reports or quizzes due and you need mental support, suggestions and so forth. This is where having the right support comes in.

The Chinese girl that had the best result in my program worked 3 days a week and she had 4.1 out of a possible 4.2.
For a whole session , I had at least 98% attendance in all my modules, I worked part time and I had11A's and 1B. Another Nigerian lady in my program, had same result, she worked night shifts and combined it with school. Nigerians are strong and built for anything

(3) Taking care of living expenses with part time work is dependent on if you are working for full 20 hours. Most jobs are structured for 8 hours per shift, so some companies will give you just 2 days in a week because of the 20 hours work restriction students have, while some companies will give you 21/2 days (your exact 20 hours). Some students work 3 days, 22.5 or 24 hours. I do not recommend working above 20 hours though.

If you work for exact 20 hours in London, Ontario and its environs (Sarnia, Windsor), you will get at least 1000CAD monthly. Minimum wage in Ontario is 14 Cad. so lets do the maths;
Accommodation = 450 - 550 Cad
Feeding = about 150 Cad monthly
Data = 50 Cad monthly

Total equals about 750 Cad. You can end up saving at least 200 Cad every month. Even if you do not get the exact 20 hours, 16 hours weekly can take care of feeding, accommodation and data if the student knows how to spend wisely.

P.s The major reason why International students (Nigerians) struggle in Canada is finance. Once you have money, tuition fully paid, you will do well in Canada.
Thanks for the breakdown, you too much!
If na stress then that's no problem because educational stress na our second name in naija, can u imagine i did a course in final year (civil engr) where the exam is 8 hours (one day), loads of assignments, reports and test throughout the semester, in fact most of my course mates then were complaining bitterly but we scaled through.
thumbs up man!

Since you have been sent medical request by the embassy, then your visa is guaranteed.
I’ll advise you forward the updated admission letter for fall, it won’t stop you from getting your visa ASAP. Then you can later look for another winter admission at your convenience, so as not to delay your VO and pend the process of your application.
My one cent though, I hope you can reason along with me.
Congratulations in advance on getting your visa grin

You've been denied MSc Admission isn't a good reason to opt for a low college admission. Your chances of securing a VISA to Canada with such reason/college acceptance letter is slim but not impossible. With the high rate of scrutiny/refusals for study permit Applications coming from Nigeria, my best advice is that you should keep on searching until you're able to secure a master's program, even if it's a course-based oriented program. With regards to your question, police character certificate can be done in any part of Nigeria, including Abuja. Though the police headquarters in Abuja will have to forward your details to CID police headquarters at Alagbon, Lagos for due processing, which will then be sent back to them and might incur charges let's say 15-20k as it's not done within Abuja.
Getting an msc with a cgpa lower than 3.6 is kinda difficult. I applied to five different universities consulted another 10 their response was if I have a Nigerian certificate and my cgpa is not up to 3.8 and above I should forget it especially for a competitive program like MBA AND MSC IN MANAGEMENT THAT HAS LIMITED SEATS
EVEN THE SMALL UNIVERSITIES I APPLIED TO SELF ALL REJECTED ME

Decision was made by london. I can resend to nairobi, if I can get their email.

From chat conversation with vfs. Was sure the lagos office should be the one processing the counterfoil.

Normally, they might not respond if it’s not yet 15 days but try and elaborate on the mail you sent. The worst scenario is to reschedule.

The issue is not rescheduling the flight. The problem is the course is schedule to start Monday. And this is done once a year. All payment has been made including accommodation.

Nigerians travelling through 2 Schengen countries need a visa, for instance if you fly from Lagos via Amsterdam and Paris to your final destination.

nice one bro.
please am coming to canada by 28th december and am tired of checking for houses on kijiji without no responses. can i pm you?

Hello bro, I got your mention. I will respond tonight.

Nothing to be worried about, 28th of December is still 3 months away. Also, do not pay to anyone until you are in Canada. Make sure you physically see and inspect the house. Also check for reviews about the house or the street. Some houses have a history of bedbugs and roaches.

The landlords can do nothing for you now even if they respond because you will not be around till December.
