Isn't it funny that people like you are the ones who bash the President every now and then, calling him an illiterate?
I'm just hearing this for the first time, that climate change is not a Nigerian problem, hence it's not our business.

Can someone tell me why people stood in the line under hot sun to vote for this man? I just don't get it
There is high IQ deficiency and poverty in Nigeria...so, it is hard for many to objectively vote.

Same question, resilient future.

I wonder why the Fijian leader did not discuss youth and population when asked to talk about a resilient future.

They need to send these lazy Nigerian youths back to elementary school..

You are an example of halfbaked graduate

It is true that we have a huge youth population, but most of them are ignorant, unintelligent and uneducated. The daft youths in this thread can not be the future of Nigeria, it's really embarrassing...

I knew the majority of youths in nairaland where going to be foolish in response to the way the President answered the question. It's just typical of the nairaland youth. They all think "one way" (the same way). Isn't that characteristic of zombies?
The Presidents answer was ok. It didn't need placing the word "youth" (as I believe most people on this forum expected) in all the statements he mentioned. Very few nairaland youths think out of the box. It's annoying and frustrating to see 95% of them thinking in similar fashion.

Anyway; it's quite normal to have such stats of individual who thinks alike because the reasonable ones are always few.

The president actually addressed the question (perhaps unsatisfactorily but he did address it) unfortunately we are people who have a proclivity to mob action. As long as it is trending and they are abusing him, let us join the train.

Whoever explained this article is as dumb as the man who answered nonsense at UNGA.

Let me show you what he did.

He was asked What is your name?

The Old Man responded "My father was 20 years when he met my mum, and they met at the stream. So they visited my maternal home to pay bride price. After the wedding, they had sex, then my father said he gave birth to a boy named Buhari. I have 3 sisters, but I don't know their names, maybe when I get home, I will ask them. I don't care about Nigerian Youths because they prefer BB9ja instead of calling my name and promotng Ruga... bla bla bla...

The Question was "What is your name?

"The pathway to a resilient future considering that Nigeria has a huge amount of young population"

We were supposed to be the focus of discussion, not LAKE CHAD or RUGA!!!!

I hate Nigeria like madt!!! Damn it!!!
hate the leaders not the country.

What people here don't realize is that buhari's handlers demanded in advance expo on questions he would be asked and they then made prepared answers for him to read out in response.

The old duaran goat just read the first answer out .

This is the real disgrace as the man has shown that he lacks no single comprehension skils

The mass movement of Fulani herdsmen you see and hear about is "also" a result of climate change. They move down south because of the available greenery we have here and shortage or desertification going on up north and other neighbouring Sahel countries.

The incessant rains and serious gully erosions witnessed in several parts of the nation is also s reason for climate change discuss.

The rising water levels and surges from the Atlantic ocean threatening Lagos is not just a local but an international problem.

Don't mind him! Ask him to give an answer to that question and he'll mix yoruba, pidgin and English languages together.

Worst of all is; even with the lingua mixture he would comfortably give a useless and wrong answer.

the Nigerian youth have lost it.....the response to the video shows how low the average Nigerian IQ has gone.

the video shared is a combination of two videos of the same scene merged together..the aide was trying to show summary of an interactive session on how buhari was asked several questions and how buhari responded to questions.....the frequency change in audio and video phase change btw the end if the woman's question and beginning of buhari's response shows it was merged.

ask yourself this question: is it possible to ask someone a question in a live audience and the responded will write a long reply and read that reply within a mili second

the context of buhari's response shows that he was giving a speech to an audience, not replying the lady's question.id he was replying the lady he would have faced her and address her directly instead of addressing the audience..this shows there wasn't any video link btw the video of the lady asking questions and the video of buhari speechmaking

also check the background screen while buhari was making speech,it shows issues related to climate change..ask yourself this question,if climate change was. the nitty gritty how come the lady was asking questions about policies made on young Nigerians..which is an issue totally different from world climate

Please this rubbish defence you are still peddling is stale! The almighty presidency has certified the video as true and undoctored and this post has them trying to explain that the question of the youths path to a resilient future in Nigeria was exactly what his prepared speech about climate change was about! Very stupid explanation but there you have it!

You should criticize the president and his handlers for their consistent stupidity because clearly you can't believe this happened real time. Now it is clear it happened, stop being dull!

What's the theme of this year's UNGA summit again? If you can dissect the theme of this year's summit, what the government's plans are to protect the future of the youths in regards to the rapid climate change the earth is experiencing and what role the youths have to play in combating climate change, just maybe you might cut the President some slack.
Climate change is an immediate problem that Nigeria has to tackle head on,the desertification going on the North and around the Lake Chad basin is one of the reasons we have had security problems down South for instance the Fulani herders/Farmers conflict(insecurity is an immediate problem). You may not agree with this but trust me, we have to tackle climate change here in Nigeria and I think planting of trees is one of the ways to tackling it.

Forget the Buhari hate at the moment bro, and let's ask about how climate change is supposed to be a problem in Nigeria at the moment. Though I don't believe the climate change nonsense, let's just assume that it's happening.

There's poverty in Nigeria; base level poverty, and I don't think heat or high temperature is something anyone is worried about at the moment. Na who enter plane go know say "up" hot one kind, and na who chop bellyful go fit enter plane.

Let's just be sincere, climate change has no effect on anybody (please don't call me ignorant if you can't pinpoint just one indisputable instance where it does), and Nigeria which is currently bedridden should be the least concerned community.

In my opinion, the problem with our stupid government is peer pressure. They want to belong. If not, I don't even see a reason why the country had to honour the Summit's invitation.

Las las, them no day plant any tree. As long as say climate change no day affect cows, then that presidential speech na just for formality.
