More than 150k. I can't continue. I wake up every morning depressed. I need my life back. 3 of my colleagues already resigned. When you start having suicidal thoughts because of a job you don't need a soothsayer before you run.

Poster you are so, so, so wrong. Carry on like this and you are unlikeky to avhive your life goals because life will give you enough hard tackling defenders to mske you quit in every scenario.

About to commence work so can't explain but simply put: The only criteria for significant decision making should be milestones attained in your planned program of either a career build or an enterprise build.

A ship sailing across the Pacific or a plane flying across the Atlantic is bound to encounter rough, tough conditions if rhis is a regular service. The craft may alter course at some point to evade the obstacle but its objective at the end should always remain specific to make the route a viable business.

You simply cannot succeed in life if your impetus and direction is continualy determined and irreperably altered by the obstacles you face along the way. Every man and woman of value will experience the threat of tectonic shifts that will question your resolve and test whether you have the will to succeed.

Lol, I was a king in my former department, the pay was thrash, cld barely take care of me through a weekend, but my business was making Maybe 20 times my salary monthly or more so I wasn’t bothered cos it was A fun job n it gave me somewia 2 keep me busy cos my business was on semi autopilot and didn’t need me, then I was moved to another department/branch, pay was almost twice my previous salary but I became a slave, no job satisfaction, working on public holidays and weekend, 1 day off per week till we decided to increase our daily input so we cld afford ourselves 2 days off each, 8 - 9, no future in the job, it needed unskilled labor to get the job done but a learned idiot like me was doing the useless job, people that saw me as a king now looked at me like a bitćh, too many bosses over my head, there’s nothing I detest more than my job on earth currently.. wanted 2 submit my resignation letter yesterday but a colleague persuaded me to hold till he informs our topmost boss so it’s doesn’t take him by surprise, I hate my job

Lol, sorry for the long epistle, but anytime I remember I have a job, I hate myself the more n I go on talking abt it

Life is not one way resigning may be a strategic effort to averting calamity.
In the analogy u created, its not all turbulence a plane gears to overcome, sometimes, its best to crash land and take-off at a more stable time.
Resignation can be crash landing, yes comes with the weight of uncertainty but it can give u time to think about how best to really achieve your goals.

This days I go to work and little thing, I'm just angry, hating and God knows I'm patiently waiting for December so that I can resign and start life again ..... Business might be hard but I wanna try it anyway

Nigeriahomebiz:
Good Afternoon Nairalanders,

This is my 4th Post here and I am only too happy to share my knowledge about what it takes to be self-employed working from home in Nigeria. In case you don't already have it send me an email to: nigeriahomebusiness@gmail.com to get a free copy of list of 20 home businesses you can start today in Nigeria.

Disclaimer: Some sentiments to this post will likely be in this Buhari economy when jobs are scarce why should anyone want to quit his job? I am not saying all will succeed in home business but you are better off than being employed on a job you hate. If you are one of such people please explain if getting paid peanuts can equate to making peanuts from your own sweat? Here goes today's post. How do you know it's time to quit a job? What are some ways to know if it's time to move on to something else? Let's set the ball rolling.

5 Ways to know when to quit your job

1. If your take home, can't take you home
If what you make in a month as salary cannot sustain you for 30 days or more and you have had that job for over a year, the only thing that should keep you on that job is if you have other means of making money from it or if you are gaining something else (new skills, connections or access to strategic information). If there is also a good chance your employer will give you a raise soon, you can still hang in there but where none of this applies, you are better of running your home based business.

2. You are not likely to be promoted beyond your current position
If you have a job where you have reached the ceiling, no more advancement or promotion for you that means your career options are now gone. If you want to see better things for yourself as far as career goes, you need to seek other opportunities e.g new job, start a new business or secure a second income stream.

3. You and the Job are not compatible
If you are 'stuck' on the job which means you want out because you can't use your initiative and drive to perform it well, that means you are tied down to doing what you really don't like. You tend to get better and eventually master what you love doing.

4. You are getting more stressed and less motivated
If you wake up feeling like a heavy load is on your body because you have work to go to and/or you don't feel like doing simple tasks you are being paid to do, that means your work is stressing you and you lack motivation to do it. The danger in staying long on a job like this is that you will slowly fall sick (emotionally and physically) over time if you remain on that job for a number of years to come.

5. Your job deprives you of quality time
If you don't know what your children are going through everyday because you return from work when they are asleep and leave for work before they wake up, you shouldn't blame them if they turn out to be different (in character and manners) from what you always wanted for them. Parental input in child upbringing contributes massively in the happiness and future success of children (that is scientific proof talking not me). Your job is interfering with your parenting duties.
I had that kind of job for four years no promotion, my work load was increasing, my salary was not even taken me pass the company gate and the company was growing while the staff were dwindling. 70%of the company resignation once, it was as if we had meeting but we didn't.

This sounds serious!

But still some people can still endure the job.
Bro can I contact if there's vacancy?
I need a job.

Bro, u have to discover ur self by ur self ohh, my biz dint become semi auto pilot by itself, it was the grace of God that made it so, my biz workers became trust worthy to an extent so I didn’t need to be there with them always after abt 2 years of them working for me, I’m into several biznesses; data reselling, farming, restaurant, firstmonie, paga, sourcing and buying and selling of items for people, fish farming, bet shop set up and installation and I’m still looking for funds to continue adding more biznesses under my sleeves,

And trust me if I said I started from the bottom, I mean from the very bottom and built myself through saving, investing and self discipline

So the truth is I don’t know how I want to advise you but diligence and discovering you are key, I still intend to do computer consultancy cos I have a thing for computers

Please can i apply for that job of yours since you're wanna quit the job. I'm in dire need of a job.
I’m guessing you’re referring to me, I assume There are certain jobs you just can’t apply for just like that and mine is one of such because it took some path before I was taken to this particular office, besides hr’s are the real employers of labor for which I’m not an hr guy

So, for others quoting a nairalander that said they intend to leave their job and saying they should give them the pass, u shld know d person quitting can’t give you the pass because there’s a referee who decides who gets the ball

For someone who is educated to be asking such favours i wonder if all is well with them mentally, its not an apprentice position, its a full time job under a somewhat structured organization.
There is a pattern of employment u dont just bring someone to replace u, except ur services is a rare one and they feel u may know someone in the field.
This people dont even know ur job role, they are just asking to be linked up, like serzly? Nawa o

This is in reply to people misconstruing the purpose of this post.

If you are not happy with your job and want to know if this is the right moment to live or stay, that is what these 5 signs are telling you. Quitting your job doesn't mean leaving it for no alternative. It means first finding an alternative, then quitting. The alternative could be starting a side hustle like a home business or securing a better job.

Thanks to all readers and people who made comments so far.
