Lmaoooo...
You interpreted it literally not logically.
I'm a man...I won't come online and utter that statement if I'm doubting my wife's loyalty based on how pretty she is or not. That statement is of praise, not doubt. Besides, look at the woman, she is fine, so what's the issue again?
Your QED is invalid.
Bro, the interpretation I gave is logically explaining the statement than bn literal.

Well, for me, I never beliv that the man wanted to shame his wife. He wanted to praise her but the applied statement can be misinterpreted.
His statement would have make more sense is he had agreed that the woman is pretty. It would have gone this way.
"My wife is so very pretty and a very loyal wife."

Pple may not find any flaw in the statement cos for you to be beautiful and loyal is rare in most women.
For him to admit that the woman is not all that beautiful does not bring out the desired message the man wanted to send.

He should have say a thing like this: "Pretty or not; I love her for her humble and loyal life."

English is not our language shaa..
We understand what he intended to say about the wife.

Why is it that people dont learn how to mind their business !he said she isn't the prettiest but she's loyal !are you the lady in question that you're burning hot like this!most of you know the insult you receive from your partners in close doors are far worst then what this man simply said !beside he never insulted her been pretty is good but been loyal is the best thing a human being can give to have peace !why take drugs on other peoples headache i pity some persons.

There is no difference between what u wrote and what he said.

She might not be the prettiest lady on earth, but she is indeed very loyal

She ain't the prettiest, but she's loyal.

My Take: Just sentence structure; urs is 15 words...His is 7 words. I advocate keep it straight, short and simple.
This is my opinion and it is strictly personal.
Do you even have an opinion at all?

The babe doesnt have any issues with it so why should we?!

At least this man is real honest about his feelings for her, and she probably know it herself already....
I wonder oo,people taking paracetamol for another person's headache, the man is even right,"SHE IS NOT THE MOST PRETTY BUT HE LOVES HER SO MUCH AND SHE IS A REAL WIFE MATERIAL".Dats the simple explanation and everybody is shouting

I love your last bolded....it is almost the same as what the man said originally but still people(women and men) would still find the 'not' after 'pretty or' offensive. The thing I've learnt in life is this, people will find fault no matter how you coin your words, but then know that you're not living for anyone but YOU and be happy for as long as you can.

Try and understand logically naaaa or are u ugly too?

Its like saying my mum is not the most endowed in the world but the most caring(and that is the best endowment according to YOU), my sister is not the most brilliant but her passion and drive are top notch(that is brilliant in itself to YOU),my dad is not bill gates but he is very generous( to YOU, he is already on par with bill gates,a generous human)....

Its a quasi-lexicon defined by a known or general fact compared to the specific or desired or accomplished part...you make comparisons against the world while highlighting what the person has better or best for ONLY you.

Back to the post, the man is simply saying her loyalty is what he counts to be on par with any prettiest babe in the universe,he is not abusing her just highlighting what he finds most satisfying to his existence.

No need to thank me Darling... You're welcome
you are using your brain.....most nigerians cannot reason logically.

You brought this to Nairaland? The heart bed of forums where men have no single respect not admiration for women? What responses are you expecting?
what is this one saying, what's with you and nairaland men, or maybe u were blind to see that most nairaland females had the same opinions as the males on this matter, everyone is entitled to their opinion about a post, you might be seeing 6 from where u stand while someone else see it as 9 from their angle, be wise

A spade is/Should be a spade.... She's not the prettiest. No matter how good looking someone is, there's always someone much more better looking
Virginnn:
He could have captioned it this way:
She might not be the prettiest lady on earth, but she is indeed very loyal.
His choice of words probably caused the "backlash".

It would have been insulting if the woman is ugly. That woman is not. That's why most times, I see beyond emotions of what you think it is or should be, but what it really is,hardcore facts, real, raw and logical. Why would the man in that picture want to disgrace his wife when they obviously look happy?

I expected Nigerians to know this, not react anyhow or turn it into some bullshit fight.
