@bellong

I was hoping to use my Nigeria experience to get PR. But also want a backup plan of changing to Social Work in the interim to any of the States sponsoring Public Relations Professionals.

So that in either case I would still be on track.

Thanks for taking out time to explain all these...

Thank you for your response. I don't use ANZSCO alone as yardstick. I access the migrating states for updates as well. As it is, Tasmania is accepting nomination for 190 on Insurance Agent/Broker. But with condition of staying over for 2 years and a minimum bench mark of 65. Not sure I will want that. As you pointed out, I'm hoping others will open up come Nov 16th. By that time, I should have gotten position responses from Vetassess. (fingers crossed)

tunlex01:

I understand what he's saying. The occupation was nominated in July by SA and few other states for 489. Due to the closure of 489, it turned red.
Currently, Anzsco can't be used as yardstick to process assessment as most occupations are currently not available due to end of 489. As long as the occupations were available prior to now for nomination, there is a high probability that those occupations will be available by November 16.

Are you sure? The educational requirement is ND - skill level 3. I was thinking since HND was obtained before working experience, the BSc will just be used to gather more points.

tunlex01:

I'll suggest you submit only the HND if you want to claim at least 5 points in Experience. There is no need submitting the BSc since it was awarded just last year. You will lose experience point submitting the BSc to Vetassess

I don't really know the job responsibilities of a PR officer/manager. You should get enough samples from Google tho. Just work around it

Raymum:
@tunlex01, @ajayidebo do you mind if I send my Job Description to you, so that you tell me if it align with Public Relations Professionals?
or suggest anyone else that could assist... Thanks.

Please, bros bellong I'm in Perth.
I need all the guidance to get things right and help me decide on the Uni and State to transfer to next Semester.
I was thinking of ACT but it seem as though duration of residing there before being nominated would delay the process for me. It's a bit confusing for me.

I already got it fix, just wanted a second opinion. Thanks all the same. I truly appreciate your response.

Chief.. I can instruct Vetassess not to assess my ND tho. I know someone that did that recently. Unless the HND alone will not be enough for a positive assessment of my qualification.

bellong:

VETASSES will ask for it if you don't send it. You need to make effort to get it sent.

Since it is IT related occupation, I will suggest you go the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) route. You should read more information on ACS website.

Yes, you can ask your employer to give you your payslip as evidence of salary paid. Tax certificate can serve as the third party evidence.

Thank you so much @tunex01 I feel writing TOEFL will be much easier to achieve.
What's the difference between normal and priority processing please.

The feedback on TOEFL for this journey has not been encouraging. I guess it's due to less practice materials/tutors like the IELTS/PTE.

It's a choice anyways. Best of luck

My oga @bellong has answered your last question.

@tunlex i appreciate your guidance, thank you.

Please, does that mean I have to send only my M.Sc Cert/Transcript to Vetassess? By the time they deduct everything only God knows where I will land.

quote author=tunlex01 post=82870517]
Oh, you can't use your BSc then cos NAU is a tier 2 University.
You should use your MSc, however Vetassess will only approve experience from 2012 and still deduct at least 1 year from the approved experience.
Good luck

Yes.

Adding BSc will only make you lose point. If other assessing body will overlook it (very unlikely), Vetassess will never.
Only experience after the BSc will be counted. Moreso, the point for your Bsc and HND is the same 10 points.
So why lose points when you can gain more?

ChidimmaP:
Greetings everyone. Thanks all for the good work here. I have a question biko.

Some ideas popping My head now for work experience;
1. Since I was paid cash most of the times, can I present a cash receipt which states the reason to be my salary?
2. If my employer can give me experience letter stating my position and how many years I have worked with the company, will that work?
3. Will tax receipts also serve as a proof of work experience?

Nothing yet in my head now regarding the work experience while schooling.

Sorry if I bored you with my long story. I will appreciate it if I get a response please

The only thing you can hope for is positive assessment, you will not be awarded any years of experience pre your degree. If you choose to go RPL, you do not have 8yrs of experience to meet the cut off either, your year of graduation is also is 2019. Cash payment will no t be honored ACS now also requires other third party evidence like pension, tax documents, etc
Check the latest ACS guideline that was updated two weeks ago
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Alphadoor: 12:52am On Oct 07, 2019
Australia is set to introduce new regional work visas from 16 November 2019. The visa subclass 491 will offer 14,000 places each year for the foreign skilled workers living and working in regional areas. Permanent residency (PR) pathway is also available for eligible applicants and their families.

The holders of these visas will be required to work and stay in the designated regional areas until they become eligible for permanent residency.

They can apply for permanent residency after three years of stay and paid-work in a designated regional area.”

this visa will replace the existing 489 visa that will cease from the 16th of November with the invitations from States and Territories already closed from the 11th of September 2019
This is a temporary visa which is available for eligible skilled workers and their families to live, work and study in regional Australia for 5 years.

It is a point-based visa where an applicant requires either a state nomination or a sponsorship from an eligible family member who is settled in designated regional areas.

Here are some key features of Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491)

14000 places to be allocated each year
A wide range of occupations are eligible (over 500)
Age limit is set at 45 years
Visa to be granted for 5 years
Must live and work in regional areas for at least 3 years before being eligible for PR
Regional area is mainly anywhere except metropolitan Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth
The applicant should be earning a minimum wage of $ 53,900 per annum for three years (concessions may apply)
Visa holder is allowed to move from one regional area to another
PR pathway available through visa subclass 191 that will commence from 16 November 2022
Visa is available for an application fee of $4,045 and the partner fee is set at $2,025.

Difference between the 489 visa (ceased) and 491 visa
The 491 visa holders will now have to wait for 3 years for PR while it used to be 2 years in the visa subclass 489.

The new visa covers more regional areas compared to 489 visa. The areas where the holders of 491 visa can live include all areas in Australia except metropolitan Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth. The areas of Newcastle, Wollongong and NSW Central coats have also been added to the list.

There will be more points available under the new visa – unmarried or single applicants will get extra points that serve as a bonus for bachelors and there will be more points to avail for eligible relative sponsors and skilled partners with competent English.

This visa is going to be very competitive so we would suggest that the prospective applicants should immediately get ready with their applications, lots of people who are stuck on 189 and 190 and 489 queue are application ready and thy will switch lanes come NOV 16, so if you are still sitting on the fence, you may want to reconsider your stance

This is a temporary visa that can set a pathway for PR for eligible applicants.

The visa holders will need to stay and fulfill work requirements in a regional area for 3 years before being able to file 191 visa leading to permanent residency.
Visa restrictions and flexibility
The visa holder will not be granted any permanent skilled or onshore partner visa for the duration of 3 years unless there are compelling circumstances. You can apply for 189/190/187/186 and the likes. this move will lock migrants into the regional areas before they get their permanent residency. this will also the regional area's economy.

Visa holders cannot live and work outside the designated regional areas but are allowed to move from one regional area to another
these conditions would be monitored closely and non-compliance may result in immediate visa cancellations.

applicants should not ‘cross the limits’ or apply any ‘shortcuts’ to claim extra points.

“There is a possibility that some dodgy applicants may try to cheat the system by divorcing or separating from their partners to gain extra 10 points,” he said.

“Your whole profile and motive will be under scrutiny again when you lodge your PR under subclass 191. So better stick to all the conditions applicable to the visa or get ready to face the consequences.”

updated ACS requirement
Page 15 of assessment guideline

ACS requires sufficient evidence of paid employment to verify your employment and that your pay is
commensurate with the skill level for your position.
Payment Evidence must include at least two of the following to cover the relevant period of
employment:
• Official government tax records or documents that may include payment summaries, group
certificates or notices of assessment (citing company and applicant name)
• Payslips citing names of the applicant and employer
• Employment linked insurance/superannuation documents citing the name of the applicant and
employer
• Bank statements showing salary payments from employer (citing applicants name and name of
employer).
Please note: Failure to provide acceptable evidence of paid employment may result in an unsuitable
assessment. Cash payments will not be accepted as sufficient evidence of paid employment.

Do you have any teaching experience? If yes. Head to AILTSL website for more information.
You need to improve your IELTS to a Minimum score of at least 7.0
Your previous travel history and you knowing citizens does not improve your chances.

AITSL is the assessing body for teachers in Australia. A simple Google search will help.
The requirement for AITSL is strictly IELTS Academics 8877.
If IELTS fund is currently the issue, I will suggest you go through the first few pages of this thread to understand how much this journey gonna cost you and do a thorough evaluation afterwards.
What you have on ground cannot be useful except you are ready to put in the work starting from asking the initial question of "do you have any teaching experience"?

Nigerian universities are not part of the Washington accord and it's affliate, therefore her graduates are not eligible for 476.

There is an online petition currently running to encourage the reduction of the 53,900 income for 491 visa holders to a more realistic regional salary level. Take a minute to sign it through this link https://www.change.org/p/david-coleman-reduce-taxable-income-requirement-for-applying-191-visa

All 190 visa requires you to stay in the state nominating you for 2 years. TAS does not issue 190 to offshore applicant except you have a job offer.

HND minimum for technicians or Draftperson. Because your ND transcript would not be enough for skill level 2. Do this, email EA your transcript and cert and also state your experience. They will evaluate it before telling you to put it in.

It’s not about priority only. It’s much easier to get good points as much as 20 in pte which could have been 10points at the same effort. Those others are fine if you might be thinking of using it for other countries like Canada or
