Btw,wouldn't that container interfere with direct observation during storage-or is it for transportation? In the 80s an Otomat went hot while in the armoury at Mtongwe navy base. It was quickly loaded onto the Umoja or Nyayo,IIRC and fired off in a safe direction. True story!

Why would u need direct observation ?
And for what ?

Pressurized containers means it is sealed off with nitrogen gas , keeps all electronics ship shape for a very long duration.

It is both for storage and transport

If the missile case is opened and taken out and if u don't need it, then it is undergoes check via BITE and then put back inside the case and the container is locked and pressurized and made airtight again for long storage.

Older missiles needed climate controlled storage conditions

Hmm....the Mk1 payload was a bit low. The Mk2 and especially the latest is almost twice-more pain for the enemy which makes for a cost effective platform especially a single engine.

Yes mk1 payload is bit low , the aircraft contains ballast to maintain CG becz the LRUs for the radars , RWR etc was developed way later and when the aircraft was designed they didnt have the experience nor the means to estimate the weight penalty of the above sub systems.

Mk1A will remove most of the ballast as the interior is going to be rearranged and the various new LRUs will compensate the weight for the same while maintaining the designed for CG.

Now it is the turn of IJT36

Hope the fucckers get it right this time

Pics r of the newly modified IJT36

Hope it succeeds! We need a cheap ground attack jet-the Hawk is pricy to operate which is why our remaining 8 are in storage, the Su 25s are frankly old though imo the IJT36 is also a trainer like the SF 260 and Alpha jet though hopefully with a better payload.

Basically it is intended to be a intermediate jet trainer

Basic training on HTT40

intermediate jet training on IJT36

advanced jet training on Hawk

LIFT training on LCA SPORT.

currently it is powered by a low thrust Russian engine which kind of limits the options.

However a new engine HAL HTFE-25 is under development which has higher thrust and will allow for better payload and combat performance of combat enabled IJT.

right now HALs priority is to get IJT36 ready for its training role for IAF.

After that they will proceed on the combat versions

I don't know if u guys heard the news

Work has started on converting the LCA fighter into a unmanned combat aircraft.

Most probably will be used as a combat wingman and possibly for use as a unmanned target during missile testfires , EW tests etc.

Oh how I wish NAF could get a dozen Mi-17

Hmmm,15mn USD a piece or 235 mn for 16. Simple! I'd have gone for Rudras with half the capacity at half the price and thus get more numbers, a
crucial determinant in all combat platforms. They're also much better at high altitude. Nemesis8u,can HAL conceivably handle an order to build and deliver 32 Rudras in two years with after sales support?

The areas of ops in Nigeria aren't high altitude.
Furthermore, maintenance!

.

So with the new HTFE-25 and some tactical mods it could be an advanced jet trainer?

I can't answer that , only the OEM can answer that.

One of the mercs from Pak......... who got killed by the Houthis

Belonged to baloch regiment , sent to Saudi Arabia last year

AFAIK Saudi paid close 1.3 billion dollars for troops from Pak........

Hundreds of them are now in the custody of Houthis.

And interestingly a ex Pak...... general Raheel Sharif has been leading the coalition forces which is taking a battering at the hand of the Houthis.

He gets a salary estimated at 5 million dollars shocked

Very hard to get a license , only if ur life is under threat and ur only allowed small calibre handguns .

But till 8 years back people with money and power could get a license , not possible now.

Illegal arms smuggled across borders is available but bullets r rare to get .

Illegal Local made one shot guns r available though but unreliable.

If one is caught with arms he is gone for minimum 5 years and max 15 years depending on the calibre and amount of ammo

If your neighbours had invested in being the ME kingmakers in the 70s by now they'd be somewhere! Instead they fought a series of disastrous wars, using tens of billions in an impossible task-to defeat those in conventional war who outnumber them 6:1! Geo strategic genius!

Well that is for LCA SPORT LIFT and possibly for LCA MK2 / MWF

LCA MK1A will have the below cockpit display.

And if anyone were to ask what feature of LCA I like , then my answer would be the LCA FBW system, it is easily one of the best FBW systems in the world and the only thing in LCA which is comparable with the best out there , if not one of the best.

When the Americans flew the F16 iron bird on LCA FBW , they said that the flight and handling performance was better than the F16s own FBW .

What investments sir , u heard of this saying beggars cannot be choosers ?

Since the late 60s the said country has been surviving of handouts from other countries and doing their bidding

You heard of black September ?
The country who claims to be the champion of Islamic Ummah and Palestinian cause etc had no qualms massacring thousands of Palestinians

And for what ? Good old money
Money surely triumphs religion in times of need doesn't it ?

And yes they did invest in ME whenever mercs on hire were required but as they say blood money don't last long or rather can't be put to good use ever.

You will be surprised to know that gulf countries supply them crude oil ( low quality ) for free.

And the said country is not interested in fighting conventional wars, their goals are more sinister , their aim is Ghazwa-e-Hind a Islamic conquest of In/dia and elimination of all Hind/us which they say is foretold in hadith.

Funny thing I remember now is when bidexii posted pics of Nigerian soldiers training in pak....... military facilities long time back , there was a picture where in the background of the posing Nigerian soldier was a painting describing the Ghazwa-e-Hind and the need to prepare for it.

I guess the Nigerian fellow thought it was a cool pic with the horse , swords and all grin

not realising it was a call for massacring 100s of millions of people in the name of religion.

This shiiiit really tires me u know.

The unnoticed death of the military SMG.

The distinctive Patchett was once common in KDF inf til the 90s. Like the US counterpart the Tommy gun it was needed for burst fire up to 100 to 200 m,though the latter used the heavier .45. Basically, shorter barreled auto rifles and increased use of body armour even by 4th world Jihadis have killed the concept of the army SMG,whose tactical needs are different from the short barrel AT MP5 used world wide by SWATs.
Imo,there's still a need for accurate burst fire at up to 200m. I'd redesign a lighter Tommy built with composite with a 12 inch barrel firing the heavier 10mm seen here compared with the 9mm good for urban,CQB and jungle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX_jk70UAtw

Go to 2.40 to see the powerful 10 mm pierce a level 3 vest. Btw,its a 6 inch barrel so a 12 incher should perform better ballistically at longer ranges.

Hmmm, someone was listening! They saw the need of an SMG firing smth heavier than the 9mm and went for the 10mm but tbh,imo the new Banshee CMMG is premature. It shoots as reliably as expected but seems to have suffered QA issues during production:THE EFFING UPPER IS LOOSE AND RATTLES WHEN SHAKEN!?
Am looking for the vid now.
