Let's share our first menstrual experiences
Mine: I started mine in school Jss 3 when I was , I already knew what it was so I went to the school canteen, bought a pad and cleaned myself up, when I told my mom, she said I should not allow men to touch me that I shouldn't even shake hands with them unless I will get pregnant and if I get pregnant that she will just carry her grand child and deny me, I used up to 5 pads that day not because it was heavy flow ooo, I just wanted to do big girl

At first I taught it was fanta ,so I started drinking it,since then I dont let it go to waste I drink it all the time you should too

I was in JSS two then one Monday morning our mathematics teacher told me to go and solve a math problem on the board

I walked majestically to the board to solve it but then I started hearing murmurs from the other classmates like... oh God her dress is stained . I was walking back to my seat but it felt as if I should just disappear from there immediately, my seatmate escorted me to the toilet to go and cleanup.

It was one of the embarrassing moments of my life

I was home, i was 13 then, everyone was around, watching a movie on a weekend I think, went to pee then noticed my pant stained, I panicked, stood in the toilet for 30 minutes didn't know what to do, I thought I injured myself down there but I didn't feel pain, I pressed the place no pain, I was pacing, looking at the ceiling thinking if I'm dying cos my mum being a nurse said once you start bleeding non stop in a sensitive place, you're dying, but she didn't say where I pee from was part of it, I was on the verge of tears when my elder sis came and I explained things to her, she just smiled, brought out pad and fixed it for me, then she explained how it is done, do you know that when she told my mum, she just looked at me and removed face, I was never given a sex education

Honestly our ancient parents nor try at all, most didn't teach their offspring basic teaching on sex and all, we all should do better with our kids please, it can prevent soo many ills.

I remember sitting by the side of a lady who was seeing her period and maybe she wasnt putting on pad.

She was highly embarrassed but being a gentleman i didnt care. I woz jst putting up the "E NOR KONSIGN ME" attitude jst for her not to feel embarrassed.

I started quite early.
I was just about going to primary 5 when it happened.
I remember it was on an holiday.
The night before i started i was playing with papers .
So the papers were littered on the bed (me and my mum sleep in the same room though because i was afraid of darkness and then my senior ones were in boarding secondary school)
So the morning when i started i woke up with a sharp pain at my abdomen.
My mum was actually preparing tea so she brought it for me.
Since i was still young and they havent taught me about menses but i have seen my senior sister use bad before i wasnt bothered.
I drank the tea.
But i needed to pee.
When i stood up i felt something gum to my bumbum.
But i didnt want to talk.
And my mums attention was not on me at that time.
When i got to the corridor i said let me remove the paper that attached to my bumbum. To my greatest surprise i saw blood stained on tge paper.
I was soo scared. I thought i had injured myself.
I put my finger in my vj even though it was paining me because i wanted to see if truly i was bleeding. And yes i was.
I was scared to tell mum.
But i summoned courage i felt if i did not tell my mum i injured in my bumbum (thats what i call a vj then i was still small).
That i might bleed to death.
So i went to the room and told mum.
Mum told me to spread my legs so she can see it.
And when she saw i was truly bleeding .
She exclaimed ""my daughter is a woman oooooooo""
Then she told me to bath.
While she went to bring the pad.
My my was still menstruating at that time so we had pad at home.
Then through out that day was on sex education. Even though i knew a little from my sisters.
Then she told me to stop playing with them oke and john in the neighborhood .
Sha the rest is history.......

I was 14+ when i saw my first period nd it was during school hours,i was really scared lol
When i got home it didn't tell my mum or sister
I just went to buy pad from the money i was saving
Innocent me was changing pad everytime i see blood stain in my pad,i didn't know how to use pad wings,i will just put the pad in my pant without removing the pad sticker
I always run away from boys whenever i was on period
Bt nw when i remember those experiences i do laugh alot.

So, two ladies stepped into our school compound to advertise and create awareness about always ultra pad. They were moving from one class to another with loads of pad. Before they stepped into our class, most of the boys in my class were already saying it that; those ladies came to distribute female bumbum special bread. I was just shinning my teeth cos it was a hilarious statement .
Las las, they stepped into our class and shared one pack of pad (always ultra) each to every female student after a brief health talk on personal hygiene and how to use the pad during emmenia. When I got home, I shew it to mumsy and her reply was in one sentence "go and keep it for yourself". I hearkened to her immediately.
One certain morning, after about a week I noticed that I was having an unusual slight abdominal cramp; I overlooked it and went to to take my shower, that was where i discovered blood stain in between my thigh. Immediately my mind flashed back to the female bumbum special bread and mumsy's word. Even without letting mumsy to know, i tore the pack and pick up one and put it in my vulva.
It was a concomitant occurrence.
It all happened while I was in JSS one.


That was my menarche experience.

Mine was not so bad. Although the pain was terrible. I was asleep, in my dreams my tummy was paining me. It was so intense that i woke up crying. Ran to the bathroom to find myself covered with blood. I knew what it was. Mum had already educated me. since she had travelled, went to her room, took a pad and did the needful. But couldnt do anything about the pain. Till tomorrow i hate that time of the month.

I started mine at 10. I thought there was something wrong with me when I went to the bathroom and saw blood. My mom took me to a Doctor who said it was completely normal for some girls to start menstruating as early as 10. I had some embarrassing moments during the first few years. Now I've learned to track my cycle and can usually tell when it's going to start.

I saw mine SS1, before then we have been reading "hints magazine" so coupled with the little our home mistress told us,I was comfortable with myself the day I saw mine. I menstruated for over a year before my mum got to know. She couldn't even educate me,I guarded myself all through. I promised my girl kids education about this and sex education at their 10th year. I can't hide it from them.

Ok I was 11 when it started. Jss2.
Went to use the bathroom and I cleaned up ( cos mummy always taught me to clean up with tissue when ever I pee) looking at the tissue I saw blood stains...
