Those ISWAP guys used AA guns to almost bring down the police station there.

I'll try to get a pic when i pass through there this weekend.

Funny enough there is an Edo policeman i know there who usually carries a tear gas gun around. I almost weep anytime i see him with such a weapon in that axis.

NAF INAUGURATES ANOTHER BATCH OF SPECIAL FORCES TO BOOST INTERNAL SECURITY OPERATIONS, TRAINS OVER 1,000 IN FOUR YEARS
In continuation of its capacity building initiatives to effectively tackle various security challenges confronting the Nation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced the training of another batch of Special Forces (SF) personnel. The SF Course 5/2019 was inaugurated today, 9 October 2019, at the Regiment Training Centre (RTC) Annex in Bauchi.

Six hours, you can imagine how hot the barrels will be, also isn’t that a clandestine tactic by BHTs to make our forces run out of ammo, since no reinforcements are coming and no air support, they’ll come down heavily on them in that case, what’s really going on, we need to start asking questions.

Just like every other profession, I believe they have cameramen and etc at the frontlines, this is to at least make judgements and possibly understand the scenario better in some cases.

Army to demand identity cards from Nigerians

Nigerians will henceforth be requested to carry identification cards to prove their identity to the military as the Nigerian Army begins quick profiling of citizens under a new military exercise, codenamed: Operation Positive Identification.

The exercise, according to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, is to uncover those with questionable identities.

He said the operation will also stop dislodged and fleeing insurgents from accessing peaceful zones.

Buratai, who gave the hint during the launching of routine military exercises, Crocodile Smile IV, Egwu Eke IV and Ayem Akpatuma II, said the operation, which is currently taking place in the Northeast, will be extended to other parts of the country.

The COAS said the operation is meant to curtail the movement of bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, ethnic militia and other criminals.

Buratai, who was represented by Chief of Training and Operations in the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. E. O. Udoh, stressed that the exercises became “necessary owing to the myriad of emergent threats that are burgeoning across the geo-political zones”.

He added: “As part of its constitutional roles, the Nigerian Army, acting in aid of civil authority, is poised to combating these threats.”

This is so wrong. The military all over the world are not trained for this.
What's the job of DSS and police in Nigeria sef Don't they have Intel's on how criminals, cultist's and terrorists operate undecided, can't they infiltrate this criminals groups

Which section under the Nigerian constitution, mandates Nigerians to be walking around with an identity card We don't even have a comprehensive and functional citizens database.

The clueless Buratai and the Nigerian army are speaking outside their jurisdiction, I will only agree to this if it will only happen in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe cause they are all under SOE.

And which identity card will they even tell us is genuine sef, is it private company identity card, Government office identity card, National identity card, voters card, student card or the new NIMC card undecided

If is the new NIMC card, I don't even think is been given to lots of people yet, except for a printed paper, shey make we dey carry paper up and down now ni lipsrsealed

This isn't a video game where everyone can just radio in airstrikes whenever they want for the smallest reasons and Nigeria isnt a great military power" buzz off.

People fighting for over 6 hours without air support and this is the thrash you can type. I am not surprised this is coming from you though.

First off, I'm just awestruck at how confident and extremely brave these soldiers are. Two things to point out which led to this is the total lack of armoured protection and poor situational awareness.

NA needs to seriously retrain on force protection and trauma first aid. Many soldiers have bled put and died from injuries even basic first aid could have prevented

This whole idea of super camp or whatever nonsense it is called will lead to more ambush like this. They could have scanned and still fall victim of the ambush. You could here the rpg carrier saying he launched many, and still to little effect. That BHTs can lay such an effective ambush should worry every Nigerian, especially after years of collecting INTEL about their modus operandi.
Radio communication was poor, even after the attack, I pray those guys make it out of there alive, because they are isolated and about 5 km from next safe spot.
