Op, your epistle is an ode to subjective crap!!! Busola or Bisola is not rich or influential. I like all the people I’ve talked with did not know she was a photographer. I did not even know her name. I just knew she was Timi’s Wife. Her case went viral only because of the personality she is accusing. As to why social media? Unless she is out to harass and destroy the pastor, she would have gone to court where a proper investigation can be carried out. Social media is a body that likes sensational stories and does not care about the truth. Busola is the first and only person to accuse the pastor of rape. Others have claimed they had an affair with him. Affairs are consensual. Why is this not an attack on the church and Christianity as a whole? The pastor is human but the easiest way to destroy a body is to cut off the head. An accusation is not evidence of guilt. I have been accused of something totally repugnant by people I don’t know. Only to discover that they did not even know me personally. They harassed and did all they could to try to discredit me. Yet they did not know me. There was a woman who was in the background pulling their strings. She did not know me at all. I had to accept that this was an attack I had no real explanation for. That is why I can view this as an attack. Rape is a serious allegation and there should be proper channels to report this. I hope that there will be measures put in place to make it easy to report rape cases immediately they happen so there’ll be justice for the accuser and the accused. |

Sultan5:All allegations can never be true, rape or not. But I have this gift of "knowing", not in all cases but those that touch my nerve. Like rape, murder and abuse. Let's put busola's case aside. Look at the accused intently, do you truly believe he's innocent? I've known fatoyinbo before now. Not in person but on social media. Everytime I come across his picture, I say to myself, "Is this one a pastor? How can people not see?" |

Sultan5:I total accept your submission that's why stated in my previous post that the tossed coin can go either way. The truth is,rape is going on silently in our society but people are not willing or scarred to come out due to; shame, stigma, culture, family ties and what of you, but the above is percuiliar with teens and single ladies who are on the Verge of getting married. At a point I'm a gender based violence counselor and I can tell you the statistics is worrisome. I can tell you that the police are not doing their work because 70% of them doesn't know what GBV is. Most of the cases ends at the desk and hardly goes to the court, even in the cases involving minors. As I'm typing this, about 100 or more act of rape just took place across the country. So sad,but true! NB;rape is irrespective of sex, age, tribe or religion. Men are also been raped too. In fact, sometimes More than the females, especially, the handsome, the nerdy, and dumb ones. |

I still maintain my stand. We are not only talking about the creation of policies, but the will to enforce them. If you wanna bring up an example, discuss countries that are similar to Nigeria in their level of development and were able to effectively curb vices such as rape. The case of numerous movements created in the US to protest some of these vices is a bad example as far as I am concerned. That is a society in which if a law is passed, you are sure it will be enforced( they have their own failings though). No matter how many laws the Senate passes to curb the problem, it will remain at large, if they are not enforced. If the elites and rich folks can always get away with rape, What is the purpose of having these policies then. The question is, which solution would be more effective in curbing rape? Talking fervently about them or fixing our system to address the issue. As a lawyer (deduction from references), I understand that talking is your thing, however our system may not care about what you say, and reminding the system that rapists must be severely punished does not mean it will act on it. So keep creating awareness, that's alright, but we are talking about long-lasting solutions to the problem. In that case, getting our governance right is more important. Plus where does the government even come from? The government is generally what the people are, so there is not much difference between the government and the people. Whatever you say about one, you are indirectly talking about other. Only one of them can effectively minimize such a serious problem, and it's not the people. The people can talk, but if those guys at the top don't do anything, nothing happens. For instance, look at the Sowore situation, for all his failings, it was totally wrong. And still the system allowed that. Peace safarigirl: |

Point of correction, Ese Walter never said she was raped. She said they had an affair. I believe it's the same with Busola Dakolo. I have only one reason. Her story didn't add up. Busola said she was a virgin when Gucci Pastor raped her. Let us think it through. Deflowering with consent is painful talk less of without consent. She also said her sister was at home but she was upstairs doing something. I believe if Gucci pastor actually raped her as a virgin, she will shout to the extent that her sister will hear but her sister didn't hear. I believe they just had a quickie. Busola also said after the act, Gucci pastor went to his car and brought Krest and she waited on the couch all the while. Gucci pastor is not a saint we all know but he didn't rape. Something else would have triggered her to say all what she said. Besides, hell has no fury like a woman who is scorned. I rest my case |

sweetrace:Well, the Bible is clear about what a bishop or pastor should be...a husband of one wife, not committing affairs, etc. You claim that Busola is attacking the church. Well, when Fatoyinbo decided to have affairs...assuming Busola had an affair with him...and knowing that he did have an affair with Ese....he opened the church to attack. That is the same thing happening in the Catholic Church, the minute some priests decided to molest young children, they opened the church to attack by the devil If Fatoyinbo can be preaching about many things, including sexual immorality, and also counselling people about to get married not to defile the marriage bed, and at the end of the day does the opposite....aren't people opposed to Christianity going to call it a fraud. And don't call Fatoyinbo human. Kenneth Hagin was a human, as was William Franklin Graham and Oral Roberts. They were also heavily tempted. As are many other men and women of god, and pastors, etc. Why aren't they doing as Fatoyinbo is doing? And if Fatoyinbo gives up his minsitry, won't people for once commend Chrtsitians for living to their book? |

safarigirl:It's not fair under your point 4 when you say that one accuser is vendetta. It's not. Sometimes some rapists only rape once then get cold feet when they feel the heat. |

PoliticalWitch:When Fatoyinbo decided to have affairs? Why try to give credence to what you did not witness? Portiphars wife accused Joseph of trying to rape her and he was imprisoned wrongly. The Pharisees went about trying to trap Jesus and ended paying Judas. They preferred to have a known criminal released and an innocent man murdered. That there are accusations does not make the claims true. That is why it is the job of the police to carry out investigations and not social media. |

safarigirl:okay. Nice write up. You nailed all else. I hope some women and men will learn from it. I saw a case where after up to 20 years a rapist was convicted because of a picture he took, but for years he had denied being at the party where it was taken and many people thought the plaintiff was hallucinating/lying for no reason. |

samsard:Let me guess, she cooperated because no one would belive her? The accuser was a powerful man or close family member/friend? She wanted to cover her shame? What does all these excuses have in common? In the eyes of the law, your case becomes even more difficult to prove as time goes by. If you believe it is okay to accuse someone after a decade or more of something as despicable as rape then you MUST also believe that EVIDENCE is of the highest priority, is this UNREASONABLE? Perhaps you're not nterested in legal justice but rather screaming on social media taking one side or the other....lol |
| Re: RAPE: FAQ On Nairaland Since The COZA Saga by samsard(m): 2:38pm On Oct 13, 2019 |
abbey621:Does it make it any less of a rape? Slaves had to be beaten to subjection, their treatment didn't become any less inhumane once they became obedient. You're the one with bleeped up logic |
| Re: RAPE: FAQ On Nairaland Since The COZA Saga by abbey621(m): 2:43pm On Oct 13, 2019 |
samsard:Hey you're being unnecessarily aggressive which shows you're the one not using logic but rather emotional rhetoric! You call it rape but can you prove it? If you're going to accuse someone of a violent crime, you better have enough evidence and please don't give me that crap about WHY WOULD SHE LIE? We don't know who's telling the truth, a guy can be promiscous, smoke weed and be known to be a questionable character and still be innocent of an accusation. A woman can be flirty, wear skimpy clothes, a drunkard and still be inncocent of being a slut. This age of social media has got most of y'all picking emotions over logic, when you get to court your eyes go clear ![]() |

abbey621:Get the fuq off man. This pure fuckery clothed in whataboutery. What about? What about? WTF doesn't know that some people are innocently accused? But for every 1 innocent man accused, I bet my left ball there are three guys I know who have forced a girl! Not even Fatoyinbo far far Pick a day to fight your struggle, not bring this nonsense what about |

samsard:So the innocent man is what? Collateral damage? Ever wondered what justice men who are falsely accused get? NONE! Yea that's right, lives destroyed, zero compensation, but let's leave the man out of this and focus on your profile that the female is most times always right. Even with this, I don't understand why you have a problem with those who wish she could come out much earlier and confront the attacker. I don't understand why you fight me for saying evidence is crucial for any form of legal justice, I'm confused why you have a problem with this. Oh let me guess, this ain't about legal justice is it? LMAO....Now that's the real fuckery ![]() |

abbey621:Off with you. No one is always right. But what you're doing is called whataboutery, go Google to see the nonsense you're doing. That's like telling black people some whites got enslaved on a topic or day dedicated to black victims. It's called 'whataboutery' Start a thread on that. Corrupt southern governor arrested and people like you would go, what about Ganduje? Black people are victims of targeted discrimination People like you would go, well Asians too |

Love you dear writer of this post. We keep failing to see the importance of speaking and acting against evil. Instead we say stupid things and play pity party. We are the ones who help evil thrive. Many have idolized human beings who look like Pastors, Imams, Godfathers, Politicians. Rape is corruption. Rape is Moral Decadence. For some people's insensitive stance on this matter even those I call friends I have yanked of relations. Well I write about morals, values, ethics and more.
