State First Class Traditional Rulers

Rivers State has different classification of traditional rulers and the Government works in harmony with them all in ensuring a smooth governance process across board and to ensure that no group of persons is left behind for any reason. They aid in conflict resolution, resource mobilization, and sustenance of peace at the grassroots level.

I have only been to the royal palace of eleme.

But their problem is that they task foreigners in their domain unnecessarily through burial levy.
Imagine, your nebors pap will die, instead of them to bury the man, they will leave him in the mortuary for 6 months to one yr. Meanwhile, they are going around tasking people for burial money any how.
Ndì ùchù.

And these people dey old very well. They enjoy life too much.

So all these kings resides in Rivers state and there are still insecurity and high rate of cultism there.

Is it that they are not living up to expectations or they are one of them.

At least their presence will serve as a peace factor and less reduction to crime.

Igboson1 , this were you rightly needed please.
Come and show us your town AMANYANABO.

Lalasticlala, Mynd44 this is For worthy as most of these children don't even know their king's.

Someone like Igboson1.

Some of them are edoid. You can see it from their dressing and use of beads. You can also smartly Google about them if you are wise to confirm and not spewing ignorance.

This video on YouTube was from when Benin people visited degema kingdom in river state and the people welcome them as long lost family, watch the video and see how their king bring out their history to confirm Benin ancestry.

Since the monarchy is no longer the prevalent authority, one would at least expect them to be custodians of culture and tradition as well as mediators in conflicts and agents of peace and order.
However Nigerian monarchs have no qualms with seeing their people suffering as long as they get their share of the "cake". The traditional ruler of my community stays in Lagos and comes home only when he has something to gain. When I went to an Anambra town I was told that the ruler lives abroad and only returns for their annual festival. So what exactly are they there for ...

Food for thought.....
