Letter from school confirming you are a student
Student I.D card
Last school fees receipt
Anything else that shows you are a student.

P.S - Be specific with how you want to apply e.g is anyone inviting you? or are you just going as a tourist who knows nobody in the U.K, so people can give you a full list of what you need to package your application.

I and wife invited my mother-inlaw for one month visit she submitted her application on 30th of sep. On 15th of Oct 2019 my wife received a call from the Embassy she was asked the following questions below:
Question: Are you inviting your mum?
Answer:Yes
Question: For how long is she going to stay?
Answer: 1Month
Question: Is she working or self-employed?
Answer: Self-employed
Question: Any Dependant?
Answer: Yes, the dependant name was given which shows in her bank statement sending to him monthly.
Question: She is married?
Answer: Yes but her husband is late now(Widow) which also submitted the Death Cert.

Please Guru in the house what does this call mean? Positive or Negative?

No one can tell the eco’s decision through a phone call, you guys have to wait it out and hope for the best, that’s just a call to verify the information your Mil filled in her application form, I wish you lots of good luck.

This is still classed as self-employed, my guy. It's a thin line but still.

Shey you're the owner and you employed yourself, correct? Or are you the founder & someone else's the CEO/manager? Do you have shareholders? Do you have a BOD (Board of Directors)?

Ok, bro. But yeah, there is another shareholder apart from myself.

TechSpot:

- Rent receipts.

- Prepaid meter POS receipt or online banking transaction confimation.

Then in the letter of explanation explain ur dad's purpose of visit and things he will be doing while visiting.

Also, add ur mom's passport data page, previous visa and entry and exit stamps.

Show proof of transactions of when you send money to ur parents. You said you use Western Union so show WU receipts.

Let ur mom write that she is in support of ur dad's visiting you as he's always asking/thinking about you and can't wait to see u soon. Let them know u are too busy to visit ur parents instead u will rather have ur dad over

In your own part add an Invitation letter, your rent receipt, ur bills, ur pay slip, ur bank statement, ur resident permit or BP. Anything that confirms ur legitimacy there.

Visa no dey too hard for old people they just need more info from u.

Thank you for this Techspot. My parent pay for prepaid meter by cash and I just asked they don't keep any reciept of this as they didn't think it would be useful.

Rent to landlord is cash in hand and no reciept (they live in a small town so based on trust.) But i do have money transfer reciept that shows that I send a slightly huge amount than their monthly stipend every february for their rent.

For the other things you mentioned, I will include them. But what do you advise on the ones I didn't have above?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Vicas2000: 1:11am On Oct 19, 2019
Justblow:

For question one, father circumstances changed, he is no longer taking responsibility, you are now in charge of that

Ignore paragraph two, once you state he is now dependent on you, its a enough, as too much information at times confused the ECO.

Collect all the receipt of rent payment, at least the ones you can lay your hands on

Would a letter from my mum + her passport bio data page + my brothers birth certificate suffice (he is older brother but has medical condition) suffice as ties alongside with proof of monthly stipend?....... This is solid.

Thank you Justblow. You and techsport both allayed some of my fears. Unfortunately, there isnt a rent reciept, but I have proof of western union transfer I did every february for their rent (separate from the monthly stipend) which i intend putting in the application if that will help.

On my own invitation letter, I have stated that my parents and brother are financially dependent on me and that I send them monthly stipend of £200 (50,000 to each parent) to cover monthly maintenance for the three of them (mum, dad and brother).

My dad has also stated in his own cover letter that he is no longer financially responsible for my brother as the stipend I send to him and my mum covers monthly maintenance for the three of them.

Please I want to send you a copy of the cover letter privately via private messaging to help review it, can you please kindly approve my request to PM you pretty please.

Once I get this part sorted, phew....should go ahead and choose a date for their application smiley

Is your uncle sponsoring the trip?
Is your uncle accommodating you in his house?
Is your uncle feeding you?
Are you above 18years old?

Your uncle-
Invitation letter
A copy of his British Passport data page
Utility bill
Your uncle’s birth certificate

You-
Your Birth certificate and The birth certificate of your parent that is the brother/sister to your uncle (to show how you are related to your uncle).

Letter from your school stating you are a student, the school is not in session and your school resumption date). Make sure your trip doesn’t exceed the date of school resumption.

School Admission letter(the letter you got when when you gained admission into the school)
School I.D card
Your last Sch fees receipt
Your last semester result
Anything else that shows you are a student

Your bank statement (where your family members send you pocket money monthly). Make sure you don’t forge your bank statement, they will catch you out.

A copy of your relatives passport data page or National I.D card that you have left in Naija while you travel(parents, siblings).

A copy of your rent receipt/ C of O/property deed to show where you stay in Naija- Make sure it corresponds with the address on your bank statement.

Pictures you snapped with your uncle the last time he visited Naija(make sure you don’t photoshop these pictures).

Your trip Itinerary

A well written cover letter explaining things like-
1)Introducing yourself/where you live/a student of so so so school, in so so department, in so so level. Also explain how important your education is to you( try to bond with your education, just to show ties to it and how committed you are to your education).

2) explain properly how you are related to your uncle.

3) Explain finances- like where you get pocket money to live on (parents, uncle, siblings, aunts, etc). How much you get from each person every month- (make sure this transaction shows on your bank statement, how much you spend every month on your monthly living cost).

4) List some of the tourist attractions you’ll be visiting, why you want to travel to the UK and how much fun you plan to have.

5) Explain your trip itinerary- Break down the cost of your trip, e.g- Cost of flight/what airline you’ll be using (look for a cheap airline to use).
Daily activity of tourist places you’ll be going to, how much you’ll be spending in tourist attractions(go on the internet and look for free tourist attractions in London within the same geographical location),
Cost of accommodation if your uncle won’t be housing you.
cost of feeding if your uncle won’t be feeding you
cost of transportation within London
you can put a small amount for shopping or you don’t have to shop at all- (as a student that isn’t working, you should be very prudent with money)
miscellaneous money.

These are the list of things I know you need, hopefully other people here would chip in if there’s more to be added.

Then reapply with all these proofs you have
.

Thanks @giselle237.
I have actually thought of reapplying but then the sponsorship letter given for previous visa application was so comprehensive yet the ECO said it wasn’t detailed enough.
I could attach all my training and certificates but they are all local trainings and part of the reasons given was that I hadn’t gone for international training before.
Also how do I proof that my company has sent people on similar training because my only thoughts is to get the certificates of such people as attachments but how will that proof they are company representatives?

All this and more are my thoughts. My company also suggested I reapply but if I don’t get all this answer right, it could be another refusal.

Your thoughts pls.

if you take time to re-read the letter you would see that also the trainings you have gone for locally also count.
As for the other people the company sponsored, then they as a company should be able to help you out with proofs. This would include attaching the sponsorship letters and/or certificates obtained by other staff they have sponsored with corresponding dates.
The company would have this in their records or you ask those staff for their letters or certificates while the company writes another letter to include the names of these staff and u attach the documentary proofs

My question is : must your company sponsor you?

Give it time and re_package your app. for holidays and sponsor your self.

Not having any form of prove of address is not very good, aside visa application, in general, there is suppose to be a paper evidence showing they are actually paying for there accommodation.

Get your dad to see the landlord, it cost nothing to get a rent receipt booklet and update there monthly or yearly rent payment by writing him a receipt.

And I hope his bank statement address is same with the house address.

Why don’t you go to TLS to ask about your passport, if they aren’t with it then You need to call or send an email to UKVI requesting information about your application since the 15working days has passed.

If it’s 7days
Flight- £510
transportation- £40
Feeding- £80
Shopping- £20 (to be honest, shopping isn’t important, you can remove it to make your budget smaller + your shopping mustn’t be clothes, it can be chocolate).
Miscellaneous- £30
Total budget- £680

Don’t ever think your budget is too small because if it’s too much, you will be refused.

If your brother has his place in the uk, you can say you’ll be staying with him. Just ask for his utility bill.

For confirmation of employment, your office should give you that after your 6months of employment.

Introduction letter from company states my position at work and how much i earn per annum, the period i have been working at the company,my duties, how i have added to the growth of the company and my interest in visiting UK in the period spanning my annual leave.

Account statement was my salary account, I don't spend much from my salary, still single and stay with my parents.

Breakdown
Air ticket £490
Accommodation(hostel) £1440 for 7days
Feeding £100
Sightseeing £50
Intra city Transportation £70
Shopping and Miscellaneous £50

For the expired visa, i used assisted service at the TLS center so i took all my documents there.

I am thinking of letting it go and probably reapply at a letter time because the training and certification is early NOV so I may not get to meet up even after everything . The refund is partial and my company has asked that I use that for training here. I will hopefully apply at a later time maybe for holiday but my question is will I need to explain the reason for refusal and even attach my exam cert just to at least proof my points? Maybe in another 6months time

Hi, I am inviting my brother for my graduation here in the UK, it is next month. However, I have never invited anyone before. So I need a bit of help with the cost.

My brother is married but he would be coming alone, he doesn't know how much it would cost him to come here and what documents are required. Could someone help me with an estimate?

If you are not in Lagos or Abuja and have to fly to any of the states, I will advise you go to Abuja because it's stressfree. From airport, no traffic till you reach biometrics centre in about 20mins, do your biometrics without stress and head back to the airport if you want to travel back same day. And like someone said, processing may be faster in Abuja too cos I know someones that did normal and not priority service and got back passport with visa in less than one week.
