"What NANS should face now is to study very hard and graduate and make a reasonable degree. They have not graduated yet and they are looking for employment,’’ he said"

who else saw this?

Meanwhile, the funny thing about law is that even the basest things is subject to interpretation. One lawyer would inteprate it as a suspension pending the Oct 29th hearing, another would opine that it means continue your recruitment unless the hearing by Oct 29th says otherwise. I think the former appeals to my senses

I don't agree with you please! If nnpc should carry on with age limit and eventually conclude the recruitment with age limit and people already start working, how will the judgement hold if nnpc is found guilty? Do nnpc now issue sack letters again? See, the applicants prayer is that nnpc shouldn't employ anyone under that age criteria, so how can court now say they should carry on with the same age criteria in question? But all I know is that nnpc may still be doing other internal processes and get things ready such that immediately the case is concluded in their favour, they start to send APL...

Pls status quo regarding this case bikonu ziee means that let the present moment continue its activities as natural proceedings detects without altercations and alterations, until decision of good fate is passed...
Therefore
Regarding the case
The case at the moment is just beginning to pass some process of Reasonable logic, then series of hearings and then judgement.
Regarding to NNPC parole
They should still go further and not halt the recriutment process until judgement is passed....

If the case turns out that judgement is passed after apl had been shared, the effect in favour of the prosecutor (lawyer) will be implemented when next the case arises again and fine be paid by nnpc....

You had first talked about common sense which you have claimed to be having and towards the end of your writing, you are now stating that you stand a chance to be corrected. Please I can't correct you because you already know what you know...All I know is that no working further for nnpc on this recruitment until the courts determination. That is,nnpc cannot employ with the same recruitment process that is currently being challenged in court. They must wait either they like it or not...

If you follow political litigation, you will understand these things.

During political party primaries during the just concluded general election. There were a lot of issue as regard some state having 2 state chairman from different faction in the party. One will obviously be recognized by the National body while he second one won’t be recognized. Both of them will hold primary election and candidate will emerge from both faction. Then they go to court to determine which candidate should Inec record as the party candidate.

Once they get to court, the first thing they fight for is for the court to order status quo to remain. With that order, the one recognized by the national party will go ahead performing his duty as the state chairman of the party, even send the name of the winner of their primary to Inec.

Once the court hear the matter and rule otherwise, every action that the chairman has taken becomes null n void. They either call for fresh election or proclaim the other faction as the rightful chairman.

Vry nice logical similarities

Guys, instead of all these bickering back and forth on the courts decision, I think it's time for anyone with any iota of contact or source from the towers to go inquire on NNPC's position as regards the courts pronouncement.

All you guys trying to be Lawyers overnight are not helping matters.

Let's know the update as per what Cooperate HR at the towers are doing. Thanks.

In your case study, you should remember that an appointment has already been made, and a faction take the other to court, and the court then grant a status quo. Its a lot different from an ongoing recruitment where no appointment has been made by any authority. Remember a public office can't be vacant until decisions are taken, but a company as an entity can even be shut down until decisions are taken to avoid further damages

Inukwa, na by force?
Its very obvious you are not among us, reason for this cheer determination to force than our throat this your negativity. For APL hopeful, be hopeful and have faith. Remember when the portals opened for application many people said a lot of negative stuff about how you must know a senator to be shortlisted, of how they have tried 100times and couldn't get get in, remember all those pessimistic talks and words of how government establishment are dubious, and yet you believed in God for the job, believed in yourself that you will perform very well and putting in so much work for the process and finally believing in the system that they will do the right thing. If you don't believe in the system why apply in the first place, knowing fully well that you won't be employed?

As for me, I don't even know someone that knows someone that knows the gate man working in any of the NNPC subsidiary, and here I am waiting for APL, something I never imagined in my life. Your negativity can't even affect my absolute faith in God, in my self and the process.

No APL hopeful will pray for cancelation or any court ruling against the Process, whether the plantiff ended up proving his case or not, its just normal human nature, so for someone in this group to be for the lawyer says a lot about many people claiming to be APL hopeful in this platform

Since they are the cause, they should find a way to accommodate most of these graduate that were affected age wise. The best way is to shorten their service years but no graduate should be disqualified because of age.

My younger sister graduated from a Federal Uni at the age of 20. A relative spent 7 years in Lautech for a 5 year course and still graduated before 28. I have a female friend, she clocked 24 earlier this month and has completed the studies for her master's degree. Mind you, she went to a state uni for undergraduate studies and a federal uni for her pg studies. 28 years for me is fair enough. Some private companies set theirs at 25 years. What about NDA, has anyone ever challenged the age criteria? If you gain admission at 20 and spend 7 years in school, you'll still make the recruitment age criteria.

If it's about money, federal unis are very cheap... So if any of us didnt meet the age criteria, it is our fault. A lot of unfavourable situations we find ourselves in, in life, are actually our fault if we analyse things properly

Lol, i don't think there's anyone who applied and attended interview that will be genuinely happy for the recruitment to hit a rock...

Though lots of guys here habour their own non-classical way of interpreting the turn of events.
Majorly, its just the show of logic and the desire to interprete happenings from a non-emotional point of view that has gotten the better of them..

Thank you for the compliments bro.

Age criteria is 28 years for gt, if you are 30 and you have 7 years working experience i think such a person is qualified for one of the EH roles. THE PEOPLE TAKING NNPC TO COURT ARE THE ONES WE CALL VICTIMS OF CIRCUMSTANCES, SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES AS ASUU STRIKE, ASUU STRIKE AND ANY OTHER. MEANWHILE THERE HAS BEEN NO REPORT OF ETHNIC, RELIGIOUS OR GEO POLITICAL SENTIMENTS IN THE SELECTION PROCESS TILL DATE NEITHER HAVE THERE BEEN RUMOURS OF GODFATHERS TAMPERING WITH THE PROCESS. COME 29TH THE CASE MIGHT BE SETTLED OR ADJOURNED. EITHER WAYS STATUS QUO HAS TO BE MAINTAINED IN THE SENSE THAT THINGS SHOULD BE AS THEY ARE, HOW ARE THINGS? THINGS ARE IN A WAY THAT THE RECRUITMENT IS GOING ON SO TO MAINTAIN STATUS QUO THE RECRUITMENT HAS TO GO ON. I AM A LAY MAN WHEN IT COMES TO LAW BUT I HAVE TRIED TO INTERPRET THE JUDGEMENT WITH ALL OF MY WITS, SENTIMENTS AND OFFCOURSE NO BIAS.

I really wonder at their level of joblessness and heartlessness. They are like ravaging wolves who have chosen to remain in the gutters. They ignorantly reveal their true natures, conjuring nonsense from their ill-constructed brains. I m really sick of such people. We dont need to be prophets to see the doom that awaits their future. I really pray the light dawns on them. There are many ways to the promised land as God wills. Not everyone will get the apl and life will continue. I wonder why they think this job is everything

LOL. I get that people tend to be optimistic and all. But as a lawyer, I will simply opine that status quo ante bellum simply means that the parties should hands off the subject matter of the suit and the status of the parties revert to the time before the suit was instituted. Therefore, in relation to this case, parties return to the status before the test/interview was conducted. Consequently, the parties cannot do anything and any of the parties found wanting will be charged for contempt of court. I know NNPC's legal team knows the effect of such so they wouldn't dare do anything either under ground or above ground.
2ndly, as to the issue of the final judgement of the court. Notwithstanding the ratio decidendi of the court or Even if the court rules that nnpc has the legal and equitable right to cap the age at 28, the petitioner/lawyer may choose to appeal the judgement of the high Court and proceed to the court of appeal and if he is still not satisfied then proceed to the Supreme Court. I'm not trying to be a downer here but knowing the justice system in Nigeria it will probably take a minimum period of 4 to 5 years to proceed from the high court to the Supreme Court. A miracle might happen though cos hey, God is still alive. But I will just advice that if you can keep yourself busy try and do that cos it might take a little bit of time.
Stay believing!

Replying a comment, and then ending with 'i wonder how you graduated from school'...

Chai!

...is really bad. Correct and go your way, or don't correct and still go your way.

The least you can get from formal education is civility. Let's be civil. Explaining 'status quo' and its legal usage, and next, 'are you sure you graduated?'

Let's be patient to teach (that's if you wish to), and let's be humble to learn (that's if you wish to).

All hail the next generation NNPC.

From your write up, it is glaring you are not a deep thinker. You only know how to abuse and think people are miserable/irresponsible if they don't achieve this and that at a certain age.

If the lawyer wins this battle, you or your children might still benefit from it. Look at a bigger picture. Why is it that in a saner clime, you don't put you your age on your CV?
Let me paint a picture of someone that graduated from Lautech this year at almost 27 years this year after spending 8 years in school. He will finish NYSC at age 28 and above. And technically, he's been deprived of great opportunities because of age. And he still didn't have the relevant experience to apply for EH positions.

Is NNPC recruiting every year? You are just lucky to qualify for GT because the chance happened to you. Nigeria is not an ideal clime. You can't use what's obtained in Canada where a graduate start his career at 22 in Nigeria. I heard that Poly Ibadan students in some certain courses had to wait for some months before embarking on NYSC. Just because those departments lost their accreditations.

In some schools, you must wait for a year or more before going for NYSC because of backlogs of graduates yet to mobilise for NYSC.

Many people have been unemployed/underemployed for more than 4-5 years despite graduating at the age of 24/25.

In conclusion, dear young man, be reasonable. Our country is in a mess today because those that got opportunities easily in their own times are making it difficult for younger generation to even start a career at 30.

Spot on!!! The country is in a mess.
