so be self-sufficient and stop blocking people goods

grin grin grin grin

shouting self-sufficient is not what will make you self sufficient
market forces determine that
You have been speaking with two sides of your mouth. You claimed you have more than enough purchasing power, here you are again, you are claiming they are blocking your goods from entering Nigeria. Devil will be ashamed of your lies

how is it good please explain

Its the best decision I tell you!!! The reason for closing the border is for importers to use the seaport and prevent the government losing out on millions of dollars. That's the only reason, most of those bringing in goods from other countries know that our borders are porous and corruption is the order of the day with our officials there. They pay bribe in small sums and government lose out in generating revenues.

hehehe

this one does not know how to cook grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
and he is blaming the rice

Still 50% - 60% of rice eaten in Ghana is locally grown
we dont have to close our border for that to happen.

Local rice is cheaper

When you place Nigerian rice side by side with ghana rice even ghanaians prefer nigerian rice. A particular kind of your rice is only good for making rice milk and not for eating because it is USELESS. Yet this is being sold in your markets daily to the poor who cannot afford to buy proper rice.

Then there is the other rice which gets harder the longer you cook so needs extra cooking time to get it evenly cooked. Ghana does not have much local rice. What they have is foreign rice they rebag and give stupid names to pass it off as local.

You have not finished planting corn and groundnut for the much eaten Banku and groundnut soup and you are talking about locally grown rice which many in ghana cannot afford. Are you high?

I say you guys only regurgitate economic theories you read in text books, you have no idea of how it works in the real world.
Most countries of the world employ protectionist policies. Donald Trump is a hardliners protectionist. He has imposed tarrifs on almost all goods coming into the US. He does not believe in free trade and open borders. Same with China. China is over protectionist. You cannot import anything freely into China, not even technology. It is only weak developing nations that the western developed countries through the world Bank and IMF tries to force to open their borders to free trade.

We should have at least ensured we are truly self sufficient in rice production before placing a ban on imports. Now look at how farmers we are trying to empower are now turning it around us by quadrupling the price of rice, is that fair to the Nigerian consumers who's purchasing power is constantly be eroded?
We are simply adding salt to injury

Who ever said that definitely must be Economical with the truth. How can you compare Ghana development with approximately land Mass of 238,535 klm with Nigeria land Mass of 933,763klm. The whole development in Ghana does not exceed what we have in Lagos State

Lol

You were already making sense before the last sentence. I don't know why y'all compare a state to a fucking country. How developed is Lagos? Is it on par with a State in Europe or North America? What does Lagos have, in terms of "development" that can't be found Anywhere in Africa that makes you people talk like this? What is so special about this Lagos that I'm in that I can't find anywhere else in Africa? Good roads? Traffic less roads? Police folks who respect human rights? Power supply? Housing? Or is it this same country that has the highest number of street shitters, only second to India?

Do explain what prompted your last sentence, I pray you.

its funny

Nigeria that has to use Ghana in order to be able to export because Nigerian products never meet international standard is talking to a Ghanaian about standard
this is the funniest thing ive read alll day grin grin grin grin grin

Our neighbours do not hate us
they love us because the benefit huge from us

Burkina Faso entire agriculture sector is dependent on consumption from Ghana
Ivory Coast entire soap and pomade making industry is dependent on purchases from Ghana
Togo free port is dependent on transit goods to Ghana and Burkina Faso

When a whole countrys agric sector and soap/pomade industry are dumped in Ghana as you claim then this means you are noise makers who cannot even produce soap and pomade of your own. The only thing you export as a country is Tourism and not products

Don't confuse growth with development. While Nigeria has the biggest economy in Africa, she is far behind in development. Ghana infrastructures are fairer than Nigeria's. Ghana is better than Nigeria in several ratings.

Oppose to what many believe, even some economists, population is not really a good thing. small countries can devour Nigeria economically and even in warfare. compare Canada or Israel to Nigeria.

in 2006, we were 140 million people. less than 14 years later, we are 200 million. 60 million souls within 13 years! we pop out children like fish. and now the effect of having children without the means of taking care of them is seeing in the society.

If I have a country with landmasse of 3000km square and the people are doing well, who cares about your 900,000 plus landmass with massive poverty and unemployment?

Isreal is about 3000km square...in the range of Lagos or Bayelsa in size. it has per capital GDP of over 40,000. And God forbid Nigeria having belligerent encounter with Isreal.

Nigeria is highly disfunctional society with disfunctional and dummy leaders.

Ghana increased it pump price because of a new government tax that seeks to pay for free education.

Now get sense
Crude oil is not imported by road
Free education to increase pump price. To you is that education still free? Robbing Peter to pay Paul . I have told you your economic teachers in Komasi are really doing more harms than good to you.

This is a great opportunity for us to grow our local productions. For how long should Nigeria be a dumping site? At this 21 century, you have to rely on importation of Rice, Turkey and Pine Apple. How do we develop if we simply can't produce what we want to eat ? How do we reduce unemployment when virtually 100% of our consumptions are imported? My Brother we definitely have to start from somewhere. We have the very reach fertile soil with over 923,990 land mass.

You can't even speak good English

This post is fine until you mentioned giant of Africa.. U need to understand that ur country, Nigeria is located in west Africa. The fact u had many likes show how much our people know. That is why our leaders keep playing with our heads. But for people who don't know west Africa is weak in terms of development in africa. If u are using issue that happened in west africa to judge the entire continent, then u have a long way to go. Nigeria is giant of west Africa, yes, but not giant of Africa. Your country wouldnt have gone to South Africa to negotiate even after their people dealt with Nigerians. The giant of Africa is south Africa, followed by Egypt, followed by Morocco. Kenya's and Nigeria may be next. We need to know the truth before our leaders will be washing our heads with such lies like they have told us many times while they struggle with the most basic things of live. Wesr africa is made up useless countries just like Nigeria. How many made in Nigerian goods Ghana wants to ban when Nigeria sef is lacking Made in Nigerian goods. No decent country will shake due to border closure if they were doing business the right way. These west african countries dont do business the right way.

The Indians, Pakistanis and Europeans control Kenyan's Economy,
South African economy is controlled by White people like the Dutch, English, Indians and Chinese people.
These people controlling their economy are full citizens of Kenya and South Africa,
You can't say the same to West Africa. you will hardly see another race being citizen of any West African country.

The Egyptians and Morocco are doing good because they are homogeneous in Ethnicity and Religion so there will be less corruption

To me the Giant should be Ethiopia, they are doing great even though they are landlocked,
The Europeans made sure they are land-lock

Will you shut your dirty lying mouth. Which every home uses LPG in ghana? Till date charcoal pots are in high demand in Accra and so is charcoal supply. Villages in ghana use pit laterines with so many homes not even having designated pit laterines of their own. They rather build community pit laterines where maybe 100 houses can share.

These homes only have dedicated bath enclosures with no roof but no toilets.

The fact that you cannot use 100 cedis to buy anything in Ghana shows how useless your currency is compared to holding 10k naira in your hand and its spending power in Nigeria.

Go to Nigeria with 100 cedis and see if you will not die of starvation by the time they convert your 100 cedis to Naira

grin grin grin
funny
this guy is another dumb nigerian clown

no amount of insult will make you sound reasonable

Even in the villages, everyone cooks with LPG
unlike your poor country where LPG is not even affordable .

In the villages, Ghanaian households build their own toilets and bath in their houses to feel comfortable living aaaaaaaaat home
pit latrines stopped being a thing in the 80s

hope your country manages to change the bushy lives of it 100 million extremely poor citizens like Ghana have done.
where they dont have to result to open defecation or cook with tree logs.

100 dollars can buy you very little in the US
but when you bring it to both Nigeria and Ghana
it is big money, isnt it ?

that is how value is measured

if i bring 100 cedis to Abuja like ive done before, it is big money
because your country is so worthless and i can buy the entire Abuja.

Your 10K will do very little in Ghana
even electricity bill will finish your worthless 10K

textile is a contraband goods in Nigeria.. so any textile product entering Nigeria is smuggled from Benin .

Spare parts are not contraband. Motor vehicles above 15years are contraband.

Nigeria makes textiles, Nigeria also makes some spare parts which are made in Nigeria
I KNOW every goods is contraband in Nigeria

that is a scared economy
An economy that cant compete with even Benin.

your textile makers are even infringing on Ghanaian designs and smuggling them into Ghana.
