Start a teaching job which is the easiest to get then enhance ur IT/ Computer skills which is v important. Work on ur CV cos it also gives u the edge,learn a trade too and apply.

...i advise you become a certify auto technician...Auto diagnostic etc..all under 6months. Good luck

You are lucky. I left school at 24 years and my dad cut my allowance to N1,000 a week. I was out of his house forever in 6 months. Nobody told me that there was no way I could survive on N1,000 a week, and there was no way that house could accommodate two captains.

You don't need to be this downtrodden.. Identify a problem you can solve and make a business out it... Boom, that is your starting point!!!

You see Nigeria University don't prepare it's student for the real after school life. I visited an Innovation Enterprise institution in Enugu and I lThanksearnt how these schools are laying emphasis on Entrepreneurship and skills. Now tell me how their graduate will be idle months after school looking for Job. NUC should do something about the University curriculum, it is long over due.

Here's how a typical Nigerian graduate thinks:

Graduate since 2014, wait for jobs, do underpaid jobs if any= 5 years of nonsense!

Want to know what you could have achieved in 5 years?

It takes just 3 to 6 months to learn how to repair phones/laptops.
It takes 6 to 8 months to learn graphic designing/software publishing
It takes 1 to 2 years or less to learn tailoring, become a good barber, learn how to make and design shoes.

In today's world where people will pay you to build a website, design a logo, business card and so on, I'm surprised many Nigerians are not becoming enterpreneurs. Instead of being frustrated to the point of wanting to kill yourself, you might want to reach out to people around you for small financial assistance and then become a freelancer. Fiverr is really hot right now, you could make 5k to 50k weekly if you know what you're doing.

I understand your eagerness to get something doing. That alone is good.

Some of your mates are still dragging food with their younger ones.

But you decided to leave the comfort of your home. This is your first victory.

Please be patient.

Since you are presently in Abuja.

I suggest you start with after-school tutoring (lesson teacher).

I would give you 2 tips on how you can go about it.


Step1:

Reach out to educational consultants that provides these part time after-school teaching services to Abuja residents.

They recruit part time teachers all the time and send them to their clients' homes to teach/tutor their children/wards.

At the end of the month, they share the fees/income/charge with you.

The sharing formula is usually,

60/40

Or

70/30

Or

50/50

Note:

The higher percentage goes to you while they keep the other.

For example: The company gets the contract for 50,000 naira a month......at month end, you are given 30k while they keep 20k.

Most times, these classes are usually held 3 times in a week or 4 times in a week depending on the agreement.


Interestingly, tutors do take 2 or more of these contracts/jobs.....and average between 50k to 100k monthly.


Since you are a graduate, you are qualified.

It doesn't matter if you have background in education or not.


Most times, your clients are primary school pupils (You teach them after they return from school)

These part time lessons last for 2 hours on the average.



2. This is another way you can get into this:

Go to a computer business centre, and ask them to design an advert for you. For example.


First
class
tutors.

We teach all subjects from pry 1-6.jss 1-3, ss1-3.
Private jamb, GCE, Prep. Etc.

Call: ****************
Address: home address or uncle/friend office/shop address.


This is a very simple sketch.

Yours should be better than mine.

It's a serious business.

Make copies of these Ads.

Anytime you are going to town, paste it in residential places, along busy roads, around schools etc.


You have done your path, pray to God, to bring you clients.


This way, you have cut off middle men or consultant/agents.

You can start with low service charge for your new clients/prospects like within the range of 30k to 50k a month for 2 children (2 hours or 3 hours max) depending on the location.

Have like 2 or 3 families you service.....you are good to go. (Least, 30k * 3 = 90k monthly)

Before you know it, more families will be coming through your adverts or through recommendations from existing clients.

By the time, you start having more clients, you will be needing supporting hands.

At this point, you start recruiting teachers to help you..........at least from here, you know how to organise your new company.

To be candid, threat of suicide is sickening because that's not the solution.

My advise; when we are not born with golden spoon or opportunity, the best strategy is to humble oneself and start with what we can offer to the Society and not what the Society have for us.

Oga if you are opportune, don't think others are lazy. You may have tried an option and it worked for you, others may try that same option and couldn't succeed. Learn to say soothing words to people because you don't know what they are fighting for. Na person wey get bag of rice for house dey see person wey wan buy one cup from shop as foolish.
If u don't have good words to say to them, kindly ignore. Nigeria is not an easy country. Not everyone has that hustling spirit but that doesn't make them lazy. Some prefers getting a degree and a job then they are fine. A degree holder is not a lazy man. Someone with a degree is entitled to a good life if this country is a good one. In abroad people with vocational training get job placement and incentives.
