Those guys who are lambasting the guy because of his situation are the few fortunate ones who were in his shoes and managed to scale through. I expected something better from those guys.

Life they say is not fair.
Before school, I did all of those things some suggested the guy do; selling for mum, work in a factory and did a teaching job. I realised there is no future in that path and I worked my ass to get to school.

Managed and graduated from mech engine department with the so called strong 2.1 finished
NYSC and here I am close to 30 and still looking for job. Does that make me a lazy human, not street smart or Simply lazy?

Some of these guys have no idea how life treat others even when life is throwing all the jabs at you.

I can feel your pain my brother, but sympathy won't help you, it's been five years since you finished nysc, have you taught about getting a skill or learning a trade? The education system has experienced a paradigm shift, it's no longer get a degree get a job, that era ended in the 80's. Now you have to be able to add value to an organisation to get a job, intact the graduate trainee Jobs are increasingly becoming extinct.
There are no quick fixes to your present situation, first I will advise you relocate cos since PMB became president cash flow in Abuja has significantly dropped, no more free money, secondly I you should get a job like say a teaching job as suggested to enable you meet basic needs and strategize. Thirdly search online for skills of the future and what it takes to master them, choose a skill and start learning it. Opportunities will sure open for you when you are prepared for them.

Stay strong my bro, and put it at the back of your mind that it's not over until you succeed.

Even law is overrated, after the huge amount spent on law school only few percent end up practising.

Everything isn't dependent on the course you read sometimes.

I also read Microbiology and was wondering wtf to do with the certificate after graduation. Now I can tell you that what some organisations need is just your B.Sc or equivalent. The course studied can be immaterial.

Sometin spiritual maybe working against u, My advice; seek for prayers first to break any spell. Am speaking from experience, b4 someone here argue n lash on me, ask ur foundation! How far! Then u cn start reapplying all again!

Chai Abuja! I remember when i lost my job, became a laughing stock, couldn't pay rent & slept on floors of drinking bars at night to quickly get up every morning to bathe and brush. The pains in my ribs due to the hard ground.. Later i became a wanderer because the bar wouldn't have me anymore.. I slept out in the cold rain of Abj at some point. But na me dey comfortable and i pay the bills. Though I'm not where i want to be yet but things are looking up.. Op i can't say you're lazy but somtimes things will refuse to work out. Don't rush into anything. Let me tell u if ur mind is not at rest where ur squatting go home or u will just be wasting time jumping from one odd job to another & before u know time done go. 31 is still young. If u are okay with the guys u squat with then no problem. Just pick one of the job offers ur getting no matter how small the pay & be focused on getting better

Most importantly be prayerful don't underrate this.. its very different from being a church boy and don't listen to the voice in ur head that says u can't do it with ur everyday sins. Just be doing it.... Suicide is never an option bro

I understand your eagerness to get something doing. That alone is good.

Some of your mates are still dragging food with their younger ones.

But you decided to leave the comfort of your home. This is your first victory.

Please be patient.

Since you are presently in Abuja.

I suggest you start with after-school tutoring (lesson teacher).

I would give you 2 tips on how you can go about it.


Step1:

Reach out to educational consultants that provides these part time after-school teaching services to Abuja residents.

They recruit part time teachers all the time and send them to their clients' homes to teach/tutor their children/wards.

At the end of the month, they share the fees/income/charge with you.

The sharing formula is usually,

60/40

Or

70/30

Or

50/50

Note:

The higher percentage goes to you while they keep the other.

For example: The company gets the contract for 50,000 naira a month......at month end, you are given 30k while they keep 20k.

Most times, these classes are usually held 3 times in a week or 4 times in a week depending on the agreement.


Interestingly, tutors do take 2 or more of these contracts/jobs.....and average between 50k to 100k monthly.


Since you are a graduate, you are qualified.

It doesn't matter if you have background in education or not.


Most times, your clients are primary school pupils (You teach them after they return from school)

These part time lessons last for 2 hours on the average.



2. This is another way you can get into this:

Go to a computer business centre, and ask them to design an advert for you. For example.


First
class
tutors.

We teach all subjects from pry 1-6.jss 1-3, ss1-3.
Private jamb, GCE, Prep. Etc.

Call: ****************
Address: home address or uncle/friend office/shop address.


This is a very simple sketch.

Yours should be better than mine.

It's a serious business.

Make copies of these Ads.

Anytime you are going to town, paste it in residential places, along busy roads, around schools etc.


You have done your path, pray to God, to bring you clients.


This way, you have cut off middle men or consultant/agents.

You can start with low service charge for your new clients/prospects like within the range of 30k to 50k a month for 2 children (2 hours or 3 hours max) depending on the location.

Have like 2 or 3 families you service.....you are good to go. (Least, 30k * 3 = 90k monthly)

Before you know it, more families will be coming through your adverts or through recommendations from existing clients.

By the time, you start having more clients, you will be needing supporting hands.

At this point, you start recruiting teachers to help you..........at least from here, you know how to organise your new company.
