The way Andrew has been escaping death narrowly is what we call foreshadowing in literature/movies and topher knows how to do this well if you follow his previous stories

I might be wrong tho but I don't see Andrew and Susan living happily ever after

And Topher is not the happy ever after guy.

I had already predicted that this Kate of a girl will bring nothing but trouble for Abdul and Susan. Abdul is a hard man and will definitely survive with Susan (since he's already in love). As for Kate, she should be handed over to the police because she is nothing but wahala as the Macho man rightly said.

Chapter Thirty
Sleeping Or Not

Abdul was returning to the gas station limping behind the man . His eyes were getting blurry but he managed to keep his feet steady.

They got close. Kate saw them and stood apprehensively, before Susan's eyes caught sight of them too.

" what is he doing with him?". Kate asked In horror moving behind Susan and slowly entering the store.

Susan cautiously moved to meet Abdul with her eyes on the man who blew her a kiss smiling. " what are you doing with him?". Susan's voice wavering.

Abdul ignored her and continued motioning the man towards the house with his eyes searching for Kate.

They got under a shade and Abdul sat, the pain on his shoulder had become unbearable, and his eyes were blanking out. He fought back the pain by biting his teeth still fixed his eyes on the man who took a seat in front of Abdul nonchalantly.

" where her?". Abdul asked Susan.

Susan's eyes widened. " what? Why?".

Abdul moved his eyes from her and looked into the store. Then turned to the man. " inside! carry her! Go!" .

The man smiled and turned to look inside the dark store. Smiled, nodded and struggled up.

Susan rushed to the door, blocking it with her hands spread out, looking hopefully at Abdul and hostilely at the man. " what are you doing". She called out to Abdul who sat fatigued with his back on a pillar.

The man stood patiently in front of Susan smiling. He turned to Abdul who seem not to care. Then he faced Susan. " sweetie, you better get out of my way. I don't hit ladies but they can hit themselves pretty well for me".

Susan felt intimidated; first by his hard physique and by his murderous eyes hiding behind the phoney smile. But she stood her ground.

In a swift attack he took Susan's hands and slapped it in the middle of her face, nudged her out with his waist and she fell. This caught Abdul's attention. He looked sharply at the man who was walking complacently into the store , turned to Susan, and relaxed when he discovered she was okay.

Inside, the man had caught Kate and was struggling with her when Susan rushed in with a fork pointed at the man. He quickly shoved Kate around his arm and held her still as she shrugged.

" you don't give up do you?". He said in as weary tone.

Susan stood, hands stretched forward contending with the fright threating to rapture.

He pulled Kate with with him walking towards Susan. Standing in front of her with the fork on his chest. " do it! Kill me now you have the chance or forever wish you hadn't attempted this stunt after I count four!". He said in a mean tone still smiling.

Susan closed her eyes and pushed the fork into his chest, but when she opened her eyes expecting to see blood, she saw a bent fork.

He smiled and said. " sorry!". Then used the back of his hand on her face throwing her to the ground. And continued with Kate, dragging her outside.

Outside, Abdul had dozed off or died. No one can tell. His head laid on his left shoulder and his hands feebly spread apart.

The man pulled Kate to his shoulder with ease disregarding her struggling and moved towards Abdul carefully, eyeing the gun.

Abdul seem immobile even as Kate cried and cursed. The man bent over and took the gun from Abdul, still Abdul remained still. He smiled and moved away from Abdul dropped Kate down and pointed the gun to her face. " Stay where I want you to". He said.

Susan rushed out with the foot of a chair and froze when she saw him with a gun and her heart sunk when she saw Abdul looking dead.



Boko entered the house, looked past Gbique who still sat where she fell crying. Like a ferocious beast he pushed his rocky seat aside; Andrew wasn't there. He went around the pot; he wasn't there, he dashed out through the back door; looked wildly around, kicked and broke a clay pot as he rushed into the cave opposite his. The giant and his wife stood; the male looked questioningly at Boko, while the female faced the floor.

" where is it?". Boko asked, his massive chest raising and dropping angrily.

" who?". The giant asked.

" my human!". Boko barked. The one who worn me a fight!".

Just then Liq badged in and moved quickly to Boko. " what's going on? I saw your lady lying outside. Your child crying. What's going on?. I heard you shouting so I came out!". Liq's voice laden with concern.

Boko wasn't in the mood for chitchat, he wanted to smash Andrew under his feet feeling his bones crushing. He impulsively pushed Liq aside and bounced out. Liq exchanged glances with the astonished couple and followed Boko out.

" if anyone has my human, bring it out now! Because if I find out anyone knows who knows. They all will challenge me to the death!". Boko shouted on top his voice.

Liq came to him and held him by the shoulder. Boko turned abruptly and grabbed Liq's neck.

" hey! Stop!". Liq said looking startled at his demented friend.

Boko slowly let go and entered his cave. Gbique was still there crying where he left her. He stood up his chair and sat on it.

Gbique stood up and passed Boko's front pouting, but his mind was too busy to even notice her. Usually she would get a tap on the head or a slight slap on the hand as way of consoling her, but this time Boko was someone else. She slowly walked out through the back exit passing Liq who was coming in to meet Boko on her way.

The female slowly stood up bleeding all over her face, walked towards the cave frighteningly and sat at the corner, scared Boko would come after her again.

Gbique sat on a rock droopy with her hands on her jaw. Soon Liq left and Boko dozed off.

She looked carefully around and stood up. Climbed up the roof of the cave pulled off a thick animal skin clothe to unveil Andrew. She had hidden him when Boko went after the female.

Andrew looked up and saw Gbique smiling. He was both grateful and happy to see her. She grabbed him up and hugged him tight. Andrew wasn't enjoying the tight grip that threatens pop his eyes off the sockets.

She looked at him and hugged him again. " nothing will happen to you my beautiful human". She let go and looked Andrew in the face. " why are humans beautiful?". She asked herself thoughtfully. " I wish I was human I would be so beautiful!".

Andrew did not understand a word she was gibbering. He just looked at her and kept quiet. She grabbed him into a cuddling, rocking him and humming silently.

The female heard Gbique murmuring where she sat. She curiously and slowly climbed up with a rock and peeped; there Gbique was cuddling Andrew passionately .

"Gbique!". She called in a low tone, climbing to the roof.

Gbique turned abruptly and immediately pushed Andrew behind her. " Sandra please! Please don't tell daddy!".

Sandra saw this as an opportunity to win back Boko. She walked angrily towards Gbique.

Andrew was confused. He needed to escape. This was death coming! He couldn't think and Susan pushed Gbique aside and grabbed Andrew.
