Fairly used items sold "as it is" is basically what gives headache sometimes on the short run if simply unlucky ! In as much as i wont hold brief for him, hope you charged the battery very well before using it. I actually bought a fairly used battery from him about 2 weeks, and i must confess that the battery is doing excellently well, though the battery was expensive sha. I had to sell off 2 of my dead inverter batteries to him, and paid him a balance for the used battery. Even when i took delivery of the battery, i had to pay the transporter of the battery. When i called him to complain of why i had to pay for the delivery after we negotiated of him footing the bill for transport, to my greatest surprise he refunded me. I was so amazed

Is it advisable to use trailer battery for inverter? Because I know of someone that has been using it for almost 2 years now. Whenever there's power outage, he gets average of 8hrs usage daily for 3 days (he doesn't use solar). And the battery still maintains that till date. Far better compared to those that bought normal inverter batteries. Please I need your opinions on this.

Yes you can use a car battery as long as you play according to it's charge & discharge rules under favourable temperature although it's not meant for deep discharges but cranking power ! Pls peruse through my brief analysis below :



DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POWER INVERTER BATTERIES & AUTO BATTERIES!

What is the difference between Inverter and Automotive Batteries?
This is a common question and most of the mechanics, battery dealers and inverter dealers are unable to answer it satisfactorily. To answer the question – there is a sea of difference between the two, batteries made for cars and trucks and batteries made for inverters, UPS or such power backup solutions.

Automotive batteries, to understand the basic difference, you will need to understand the usage of the two types of batteries; Auto Batteries and Inverter Batteries. Auto Batteries the batteries used for cars, buses and trucks are batteries designed and build to provide a very large amount of current for a very short period of time, usually just for a few seconds to crank the engine. The sole purpose of the Auto Battery is to crank the vehicle’s engine, once the engine is running, the alternator in the vehicle takes care of all of the power needs of the vehicle and also quickly charges the battery back to its full potential.

Inverter Batteries, on the other hand, Inverter batteries are designed to provide a small amount of current consistently for longer durations of time. All the backup power solutions, Inverters and UPS, function by converting the DC current into AC current because all of our electric appliances run on AC power. The Inverter or UPS batteries provide the DC current over extended periods for these devices to convert into AC power. To achieve this, the Inverter or UPS batteries are discharged over a much longer time to much lower potential as compared to Auto batteries. That is why, UPS and Inverter batteries are also known as deep Cycle batteries.

To achieve the above, the design of the two types of batteries differ considerably. The automotive batteries consist of large number of thin plates. This provides a large surface area of plates to react with the electrolyte to produce higher amount of current quickly. The Inverter Batteries whereas consist of lower number of plates which are much thinker as compared to auto batteries. The electrolyte volume of the inverter batteries is also more to prolong the chemical reaction to produce current. This enables Inverter Batteries to provide a consistent amount of current for extended periods.

So next time you are out buying new batteries for your Inverter or UPS, make sure you buy the correct type. Incorrect type of battery may not provide the desired backup time. More so, use to automotive batteries for inverters will reduce the battery life considerably.

trailer and car batteries are not safe, they contain raw acid ,during charging ,gases emits to the surroundings(not good for closed environment), because it can harm your health,,,
but inverter batteries contain sealed gel which is certified safe for indoor use,,,
inas much as we love cheaper things ,human safety should be our first priority,, i do not encourage people to use car or traileer batteries indoors, you can charge them outside and not inside homes

I no know how to put mouth for this una case, he called and told me he didn't give u warranty on that battery and it was tested OK, before u carried it, I told him if there was anything he could do to it make u no lose , he said no, that was how I bought 2 batteries at oshodi arena for 90k , 45k each, for my client , both batteries was test for almost an hour each , after installing the batteries, less than a month, one Battery stopped working, we took it back to him, the thief still collected 15k and the battery before he gave us another battery after giving us a month warranty on the battery, a 200ah scrap battery is sold for 15k, he collected 15k cash , and the mumu said he was helping us, 15+15=30k

The last time you quoted me was on a fairly used battery picture if I can remember but sold out without worries.what other reasonable complaint have you heard subsequently for you to be lopsided in mediation? ..Try to get some facts right before jumping to conclusions to be candid!

Before we go too far talking about what the best battery desulfators in the market are, a good place to start would be to talk about what a battery desulfator is and what a battery desulfator does. Being as new and unique as they are, not every battery owner understands them. We’re going to try and remedy that.

A battery desulfator is also known as a battery regenerator. The second version of the name is a little misleading as it gives one the impression that a battery desulfator can regenerate just about any battery. That isn’t necessarily true. If your battery is not working as a result of internal damage or is shorted, no desulfator in the world can repair it. However, if the battery has lost a great deal of its capacity due to sulfation, then you’re in luck. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, though, we were talking about battery desulfators.

A battery desulfator is a device that restores the capacity of a lead acid battery. That way, the lifespan of the battery is extended and so is its performance. These batteries are also known as pulse conditioning devices, battery reconditioners, and, of course, battery regenerators.

It all begins with the battery. If you store it in an uncharged state for too long, then lead sulfur will form little deposits on the lead plates and harden over time. How long to leave it uncharged pretty much depends on the battery, but generally involves leaving it only partially charged every time you charge it. When these lead sulfur deposits form on the lead plates, we say that the batter has been sulfated. That means it is now incapable of charging to its full capacity that you purchased it with. Keep leaving it uncharged for too long and the capacity grows smaller and smaller until it becomes practically impractical to use the battery any longer and you have to swap it out for a new one.

That is where battery desulfators come in. They send pulses of electricity throughout the batter. In some cases, those pulses of electricity will get the sulfate to come off the plates in flakes. The sulfate dissolves and your battery regains its capacity.

So you’re probably wondering why such a miracle of science and technology isn’t popular. Well, as it turns out, the battery industry, or at least the mainstream part of it, has an incentive to sell replacement batteries. In fact, most of the profit made by battery manufacturers comes from selling replacement batteries. They stand to benefit from the process of sulfation and so they don’t feel the urgent need to solve the issue in batteries. There has therefore been very little scientific research into the issue and understanding exactly what is happening under the hoods or any verification of the claims that are being made about sulfation. As a result, the market for desulfators is still very small and most battery owners don’t even know about it. That said, it is a growing market, no matter how small and we are hopeful that the setback to battery longevity caused by sulfation will soon be a matter of the past.

No Sir , it's a used battery tested okay and sold "as it is" at minimal rate before payment was made , call came in about a week time for battery charger to use same battery with a UPS which was later inconclusive. Next call was unknown battery charger was borrowed and battery backup not up to 2 hours and threats for item tested and sold in peace .. So a mediator needs to get fact right as seller & buyer all have rights .. ! Thanks

Yes I was grossly busy at a solar site when this started but for one to threaten me to come online to type long for tested decommissioned battery considerably sold 30k with a UPS at meagre amounts isnt the best ... He was also wrong calling me names for reasons I know nothing about as the sad battery was clearly tested and sold in my house ! Yes oo by God's grace, biz has been thriving for years no matter the rough sea waves we see sometimes but i will definitely keep in view what you said . MAXIMUM RESPECT !!!
