Create a new DS160 from your old one, enter your old form number and if asked if you want to create another one, say yes(I have forgotten the exact word), then after filling a new form, update your new number on the visa page, print another appointment confirmation page. Ensure this is done at least 3 days to your interview.

All the best.

Please they have confirmation page and appointment confirmation, which one should I print cos I have only the application confirmation emailed to me. I forgot to email the confirmation page the one with passport before submitting it.
Should I edit it again to get the two or it does not matter?

VISA APPROVED

Dear NL. I am a silent follower of this platform. I was scheduled for interview at the Lagos Embassy this morning at 6:45am and got my visa approved. I am thankful to God for His favor and mercies. I was one of the very very.. few that got visa approval this morning. The rejection rate was massive and its not an exaggeration to say less than 5% of all applicants were issued visas. The Vos were just denying visa applicants for both visiting and student categories. A family had just been denied at the next window to me...
now fast forward to my transcript.

My VO is a young man possibly in his early 40s or close to 40. I was praying quietly as I knew it would take God's grace to answer confidently.

VO: Pass me your i20 and passport please.
Me: I did smiling and said good morning to him
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: I am going to study for an MBA in Enterprise Resource Planning at Bleep University. (I forgot to mention the location of my school)
VO: Where do you work?
Me: I work at Bleep plc.
VO: How much is your salary?
Me: (he looked at his screen waiting for my response.
VO: You have a good job, why are you going for an MBA.
Me: I work in a financial services company but my background is technical and I need a business degree that would give me a competitive edge and acquire business skills for my short term and long term career goals.
VO: What are your long term career goals
Me: the school will be assisting me with the endorsements and certification I require to become a business consultant in this market and this will lead me to starting my own business.
VO: Did you apply to other schools?
Me: Yes I applied to 2 other schools and I named them.
VO: Have you ever traveled out of Nigeria?
Me: I was on honey moon with my wife to Gambia and Senegal, I have been to Ghana to attend some courses and I have traveled on some occasions to South Africa on business meetings. I have also visited the US on four different occasions.
VO: When was the last time you visited the US?
Me: I mistakenly answered 2017 and also mentioned that i was in the US in 2018.Told him I took time off work on vacation and tried to write the GRE exam while in the US but unfortunately there were system issues so I had to come back to write it in the country. (the VO kept looking at the system and typing as if verifying my answers)
VO: Are you planning to apply for F2 visas for your family?
Me: My wife is an entrepreneur and she is busy with her business. My kids are in school and i am hoping they would be able to visit me in the US during my wife's off peak business period and when my kids are off school.
VO: How do you want to fund your studies?
Me: ( I had 27k on my i20. I passed my acct statements, fixed deposit certificates and letters from work stating my salary/position/designation, payslip, letter of recommendation from my boss and every document that can give a positive impression of me. He started looking at the documents page by page and occasionally took his eyes black to the computer screen.
VO: (Then he picked up one of my acct statements which is very busy with transactions but with no serious money.. Lols)
Me: That is my salary acct. I fund the other acts from there.
VO: Tell me about the location of your school. Tell me about it.
Me: (I started stammering cos I wasn't expecting such question. I said a few words mentioning the cities around the location and the flooding in that area. I felt unsatisfied with my response and asked the VO if I could ask him a question. I did this just to cover up in case he wasn't satisfied) Please can I ask you a question?
VO: Sure, go ahead
Me: I am wondering why you asked for the location of my school. Is there something happening there that am not aware of.
VO: Nothing really. At times we ask such questions to be sure students know where they are going.
Me: Ok
VO: I have made up my mind to issue your visa. (He handed over my documents and advised on instructions at the port of entry. He directed me to where I would pay the reciprocity fees.
Me: (I was no more listening. I picked up my documents, said thank you and walked away)

I can't really recall which one is which. To get the confirmation page from the DS160, just enter the application number, you'd see an option to print or save it, you don't have to re edit it. And the confirmation page on the visa page, you can print/save/email that to yourself as well.

Good evening fellow nairalanders, I hv a question.

When filling DS 160 form. In the section where you indicate your travel history outside Nigeria, if you hv traveled to a particular country more than once are you to add each date of those travels or will you just fill the name of the country with the date of your most recent travel? Pls I need advise

Where is the link to the visa confirmation page.

Also, do I need my SEVIS fee receipt for the DS-160 or just for the visa interview?

You need a 2x2 passport photograph taken in the last six month. I would suggest you go to a studio though.

Hello guys..
So a few days back, I posted that I was denied my F-1 student visa this morning at the Abuja consulate.
A recap of my Interview went like this:
VO: can I have your passport and I20
Me: passed it on
VO: why Illinois?
Me: still talking when vo cuts
VO: you're going for your masters in law?
Me: yes
VO: you have a degree in law?
Me: yes I do
VO: are you a practicing lawyer?
Me: yes I am
VO: did you apply to other schools?
Me: yes I did. Was naming them when he cuts me...
VO: this program at Illinois is quite expensive, I see you were given a scholarship. You still will be needing approximately $40,000. Can I see bank statements..
Me: I give him my uncle's bank statement. Also supplements with mine.
VO: what does your uncle do?
Me: he is a contractor, deals in supply and sale of industrial and agricultural equipments/ building materials
VO: cuts in.... does he have children?
Me: yes he does, 3 daughters.
VO: how old are they?
Me: first is 36, second a few years younger, I'm not sure. Last is around my age.
VO: where do they live?
Me: first lives in Sweden, second lives in south africa and the last lives here.
VO: have they ever travelled to the US?
Me: I can't say..
VO: did you pay any money to the school?
Me: no I haven't
VO: ... types for a while, passes my passport and a green sleep. I can't issue you a visa at this time. Try again.

I'm still shocked, I don't know how to feel. I don't feel bad but I don't feel good either.
I have paid another visa fee. Hoping to apply again and secure another date before school resumes in January.

I was admitted into all four schools I applied to.
University of Illinois, university of San Diego, Arizona state university, st. Mary's university.
Illinois gave me $35,000 scholarship, San Diego gave me $10,000 scholarship.
Uncle had a closing balance of almost 10,000,000 and a good cash inflow.
Hoping to get another interview date in two weeks. I need advice guys

I must appreciate everyone that contributed and shared their opinion.
After reflecting, although I wasnt told the reason for the denial, I was able to deduce that the VO was willing to give me the visa but obviously couldn't as the bank statement shown didnt meet up with the remaining funding requirement.. and this was the the reason for my denial. FUNDING!

MY FINDINGS AND NEW CHANGES::
1. I have approached a company willing to offer sponsorship . A sponsorship letter and bank statement to evidence that. Having about N40,000,000 to N50,000,000.
3. Will still carry the old bank statement along with me.
2. I contacted the school and paid a seat deposit and also made application for housing which was accepted. The dean also adviced me to register all my courses before going back for the interview. This is to address the last question raised by the VO.

Now I will appreciate advice from everyone before going back again. I am so scared. School begins in January. I know I may not have time again but I just dont want to rush. I need to know how I can brace myself back up, the best way to put forward this changes to the VO this time in a way that is convincing enough.

Guys please help a brother with suggestions...

FUNDING!

MY FINDINGS AND NEW CHANGES::

Do you have means to pay for the fees if given the visa?, cos it seems you struggling with funds. Trump is not smiling here. You will hate yourself if you fall out of status for non-payment of fees.

Secondly, Law is not that big in the States these days unless u go to the top 10. Many unemployed lawyers in the US now. U can google it.

Back to your question. Coming up with a company account in support of your application within few days does not sound convincing. However, embassy is sometimes/mostly about LUCK so cant advice you shouldnt proceed with it.

Same company I used in applying for my i20. I just didnt have their bank statement at the time i was applying for the Visa. I thought the sponsorship letter was enough..

About my tuition. Sure the dean told me I have right over how I want my scholarship grant to be utilised and I want it strictly for my tuition.

University of Illinois although not top 10, is a well recognised school and the first VO acknowledged that
