i was at the MOE yesterday and these are the latest info:
1) whether you wish to authenticate your first degree or masters you must go along with your waec certificate
2) you will be asked to pay 1200 for waec scratch card and printing of result, so i advice to go with your scratch card and print out if you have one
3) after which you will pay 250 for the form
4) the number of document you are authenticating depends on how much you will pay(300 per doc) which you will then pay via remitta
5) you then proceed to the ipps office for stamp/receipt which is 200
6) then you proceed back to 8th floor for submission which will then be signed and authenticated.
7) after you are given back you will be asked to pay 500 and return after 2days for eligibility.


this is where i stopped yesterday will be going back tomorrow for the eligibility then proceed to MOFA for authentication again.

now my question is this my friend in abu dhabi insist that i dont need to go to UAE embassy for 19k authentication that the MOE and MOFA is ok...pls what do u advice cos i have been following this thread for over 2months now

Don't listen to your friend, make sure to authenticate your certificate at the UAE embassy in Abuja before you come.

I got back just last week, vacationed in Dubai prior to my trip, my friend requested I bring Noodles, Palm Oil, Potatoes & most importantly Yam as that is the most expensive food item sold there. so, I put the palm oil in the freezer 2 days b4 my trip for it to be blocked & wrapped it in newspapers & nylon as well as other stuffs b4 travelling & delivered it to them.

Ps I stayed 4 less than 2 weeks & back to Nigeria already. I don't think UAE is against bringing in anything, didn't see that any where.

My advice, please buy anything you wish to deliver to your friends, don't accept anything on behalf of people to deliver for "security reasons".

I also used my MasterCard to make withdrawals at the Metro station was charged much though, if you can request for a Visa Card I don't think the charges would be as much as that of a MasterCard & depending on the bank you bank with aside GTB & Access, you might need to inform the bank to enable your card for 'International transactions' for the duration of your stay before embarking on your trip.

No yellow fever card needed for UAE. Maybe your agent want to do india or Pakistan visa for you.

Make una no fight abeg. Both of u av points, for the advisor, he was feeling concerned, for the advicee (if any word they like that), na only advice Im give.
With stories have heard, I also feel the best thing is to secure a job before jumping into UAE. We knw Naija is not smiling, but don't jump from frypan to fire. Luck is always there to relie on sha.

So for a while now, i've been thinking of going to Dubai to work cos i can't seem to get any job here in naija that pays above 40k for the past two years after NYSC (and man's not getting any younger).
So i contacted two of my friends who are resident in Dubai to put me through on the way forward. One of them (a lady) told me that i should do a 3 month visit visa which costs about #260k and flight that goes for #246k. After which she urged me to come with some cash to get an accommodation, and pay an agent to help me get a job (with pay ranging from 100k to 150k) while the rest money would be meant for my feeding (I gats eat before i get job).. When she calculated everything, it amounted to 800 - 850k, including my feeding.
The other person (a guy) told me that I shouldn't come to Dubai with the 3months visa because life would be difficult for me. According to him, he said i should do a 2years work visa which would cost about 1mil (that i pay half first and pay the remaining immediately the visa is ready). He said the company would provide me with a good accommodation and transportation. He gave me lots of reasons why i shouldn't go with the lady's idea, including the fact that lot of fake job agents are roaming the streets of Dubai looking for a prey (that i might pay them to get a job for me and they scam me). Also, he said the apartment i would get when i come with the 3months visa is one that looks like a hostel where about ten people will be staying in A ROOM and a space goes for about 40 - 50k with other miscellaneous like electricity bills pegged at 10 -20k.. He added that if an agent finally secures a job for me, i may not be given an accommodation by the company and that i would still be paying for my accommodation even while working. (So if my salary is say 100-150k and i'm to take care of my accommodation while working that means i will be spending about 40-50k plus other fees from the salary)
Immediately the second guy told me about these things, i felt really discouraged cos i wouldn't want to waste the few available resources with me.
Please my travel gurus, i beg you all to put me through cos i'm in a state of dilemma, (my people say person wey ask questions, no dey miss road).

UAE......hmmmm. Na money wey person spend come here(all xpenses) be de reason why person never come back yet. One has to at least recover d money spent on d journey b4 returning home, for your health sake as life nor get spare. For those of you asking your advisors "why haven't you returned if it's as bad as you claim". Na wen u enter u see say wetin dem dey yahn u 4 9ja dey different from reality for here. Goodluck to all you intending new comers as luck and fate differs. But if it didn't work out for you as you dreamt/believed, pls use your return ticket instead you constituting nuisance or becoming an agent scamming new comers thereby adding to their pain coz our reputation as Nigerians is nothing to write home about.
