1. La Campagne Tropicana is one of the numerous beaches in Lagos. Situated somewhere in Ibeju Lekki.

WARNING!
The road is FAR. If you do not have patience, if time isn't on your side- pls, don't try it. It would/should take a total of 6hrs for the trip (to and fro), minus traffic. Journey started somewhere on the mainland.

Out of curiousity, on our way there, I tried booking a trip via UBER. Got an estimate of N7700- N10150. If I am a driver, I wouldn't even go. Except you book me for a day job. Lol

2. After what seemed like forever, we started seeing their road guides "25km to La Campagne Tropicana"... it kept reducing till it got to 1km. There is this little bridge very close to the place. Has a signage few meters from it.

We also saw a stretch of the beach that ran across the far end of the road. Beautiful sight, made me forget the long journey.

Getting in, they directed us to the reception.

3. The people at the reception were very welcoming and polite. The first question she asked was

"How was the road down here?"

I laughed and said "so you know the road is far?". She said "yes, but I am sure you would enjoy here".

She said if we wanted to pay with POS, perfect. If we want to pay in cash, we have to convert our Naira to the beach's currency- PERE. They said we would be needing it for any other payment. So we can change there or inside. The first place I saw this payment method is at Yakoyo- some abula joint. I found it very stressful. It discouraged me immediately.

Anyway, ENTRY FEE is N5000 for 1 adult. Includes beachfront space, tent and horse riding.

4. When we got to the beach proper, I noticed there were more foreigners than locals. I don't know why, but I attributed it to the DISTANCE and COST. I counted only about 25 Nigerians. However, the foreigners were PLENTY. Man, wife and kids. Mostly Asians.

8. Guest houses
Pic 1: Goes for N250,000 from their website. The pool wasn't clean, but others that had guests lodged in them were clean.

They have cheaper rooms though. The cheapest I saw on their site is N60,000

13. Observations;

-The place is really big, so there are some decays, but they are really doing their best to keep the most used parts running.

-I spent just an 1hr 15mins there. Couldn't access their rooms- however, I plan going back there for my honeymoon. Maybe then, I can give a comprehensive report of the rooms and services.

-It is a nice place for DAYCATIONs, if you have the time and extra money to spend.

-You pay to bring in your own food and drinks.

-If you like noise and plenty people, it isn't the place for you.

250k just for a night? No wonder there were few Nigerians patronizing them. That's someone's one year rent in many locations in Nigeria. undecided
