Save me soul.

If this is a resort, then I need to change my prescription.

Looks like a lost island ,(Gillighan's Island)or a movie set. Old signposts, traces of dirt, brown water... smh.

I seriously need to change my passport. Osanobua!

Not bad but pricey....I prefer going to Ouidah in Benin Republic which is 1hr 15mins from popular Tokpa park and less than 1hr 25mins from the airport. If u go to Diaspora hotel after KPar-ce bus stop which is close to the beach( also a former slave port aka 'place of no return') you will be glad you went there. Rooms start from 6000cfa( with fan but breeze from the sea is there too so AC room might not be needed)...the hotel is tastefully built and Benin is possibly the safest place in W/Africa or Africa( Togo too is safe). The environment is peaceful too and a tourist delight as not too far from the place you can take coconuts and buy artifacts. Sweet place for a sweet honeymoon. 3 major borders- Idiroko- decent and less stressful, Seme, Owode APA after Badagry( cheapest but pass through a bushy area) or fly in.

Nice spot. Though 250k a night is quite high. Any cheaper single room accommodation?

Three bedroom suite tree house, all rooms ensuite ......considering it's beach resort accommodation it's not too much at about 800dollars...these things don't come cheap

It is three rooms all ensuite. Perfect if you are going with friends. Maybe 3couples. There is a single room of 60k. I don't think it is among the ones facing the beach, because I tried matching my pictures with the ones on their site. Couldn't figure that one out.

We never envisaged it would take that long. Plus in Lagos, it is not yet over until it is over. Lots of factors can increase your time on the road. I did feel like going back, but we told ourselves we have come too far to go back. So...

I think it all depend on the period you visit. Went there with my cousin and few other distance relatives, around December last year. It was filled to the brim. Yes, they are trying, but they should improve on the maintenance. Lastly, I hope you fed your eyes with the Dangote's refinery site ? Likewise the Trade Affair on your way going? Lol

Yes, I saw all that along the way. Beautiful sight too. I took so many pictures of the road and environment. Very few of myself.

Apart from period ehn, anything that doesn't accomodate the lower class wouldn't thrive all the time or most times at least. There are beaches that are not periodical. We both know why... cheesy cheesy

I need to commend you immensely.

However, you got me weak and almost everyone commentating afterwards away from the relaxing mode with the amount you chose to put up first for accommodation; I would have thought you would have stated the #60,000 first especially as you either went alone or with just someone or 2 others (which is a duplex with 2 beds, a king size comfortable enough for 3-4people); instead of the #250,000 (which i can call a palatial suite with 3bedroom with king-size beds built on lagoon giving you a clear view of the mangroove comfortable for 6-9people, iconically not for the chicken-hearted I must say). I should also state all the apartments has a functional swimming pool with complimentary breakfast, buffet throughout the time I visited. I have been patronizing the place since 2010 and never regretted it.

The reason why most patrons are foreigners can most definitely be attributed to foreigners love for nature and proximity to their houses (staffers of Asian companies @ LFTZ & Dangote refinery); conversely, we Nigerians 'love for noise' (both dominant religions are noisemakers), party, 'never-believing-in-our-own-except-Abroad' attitude (someone even said he can go to Banjul for a week on #250k when we know it's even cheaper to travel to Europe than other African countries).

Truth is that the place is for lovers, lovers of nature and best for couple(s), and company team bonding (never-ever-go-alone to spend the night except you are a writer thou).

The place is a private enterprise conceptualized by a Nigerian who spent good money and possibly bank loan and should definitely make profit. I think the lagoon is the largest man-made lagoon in Africa if not the world grin.

They provide electricity round the clock (perhaps from generators), security, staff salary etc.

Once again, I commend you.

Regards.

Excellent comment, however i disagree on your analysis on the reasons why foreigners patronise it and your view about the cos. Its just way too expensive. If its maybe 250K at peak season i can understand. Anywhere else in the world you don't pay that. You get the same thing on Coronado Island in San Diego and Marriot is less than $250 averagely, look up the Diplomat beach resort in Miami, its less than $200 for an executive 2 bedroom suite. Foreigners can afford to pay 250K cos of conversion rate, they're mostly into oil and gas or telecomms and paid well or get them as perks.

Irrespective of how anyone sugarcoats it- 60k /night, 250k/night, 150k/night and 5k/daycation is EXPENSIVE in a country where we are still fighting over minimum wage that is less than $100.

Apologies, the fault is mine as I forgot to state that the foreigners don't even lodge the night, they go back home since they reside closeby and negative security report against naija (not to say the place is not safe).

Meanwhile, maybe I can state that it takes a whole lot to run a business in naija and Africa, much more a businessperson has to do than anywhere else in the world, for instance electricity is a big money guzzler from generators to diesel to even getting original generator & diesel to buy; I also remember the resort had to fix the road as the place was almost cut-off by erosion. Access to finance/loan is not only cumbersome, applicable interest rate is cut-throat especially when the financial institutions don't see anything in the business like oil & gas, with regular cashflow.

I agree the cost is high thought but still we shouldn't benchmark the facility based on their highest priced apartment.

With all due respect, I think you should have made enquiry.

All the times I went there, I stayed in Kodi, and Executive Kodi once and we were 4 in the apartment as it has 2 King-size beds. All Kodi apartments are duplexes facing the beach with swimming pool.
