Thank you ,the truth seems to hurt people. Post a question here and on quora the difference will be clear . the average Nigerian man is uncultured which is an irony cos they swear they are the custodians of culture and rich heritage.i see some comments here and i am in great awe at how low a person can reason. Only a hand full of people here can engage without resulting to insults which is a classic sign of lack of emotional intelligence. Most of this people are angry about something but for some reason they find this forum a safe haven to explore their frustrations . Over the years i have had to grow a thick back just to be able to have a conversation. Such monstrous rest@rds.

Quora sorts their answers so stupid ones are shown way below that most readers won't bear the misfortune of seeing it. Also without signing into a quora account you can't see more than three top answers to a question so most guests get the impression quora is a lot more level headed as the guests only see the most relevant answers. also there's a lot less anonymity on Quora as experts can make themselves known through it. Go on Reddit and you'd notice the cesspool of posts in certain subreddits. it gets so bad that certain subreddits get banned altogether.

i disagree ,if nairaland starts using upvotes it will be worse as the most cringe worthy ,senseless ,insensitive and stupid post usually gets the most likes which will translate to upvotes. Sadists who are entertained by toxicity and call it sarcasm or trolling will only hijack it. I will say this, we have more people suffering from mental illness here ,upvotes will only make it worse. The problem is the people not the system.

Actually, if you look at posts that get most likes/upvotes on Nairaland, they are usually sensible posts. HopefulLandlord is right. If you dig deep into reddit and quora, you see all kinds of unserious and disappointing posts.

i never said there was nothing like that after all trolling and bullying are not in any Nigerian language. As for the nairaland likes issue ,there has been multiple times i have come across comments that amassed alot of likes that i had to wonder what kinds of people were on the other end of these monikers . In a forum where sadistic comments are seen as sarcasm and given likes ,i will say that submission of yours is not entirely true.

well i guess they earn a point for the ritualist part. A child who have done his home work is playing in the sand and another who has not even opened his book wants to join in.
