Reason for this is that I live in Phc, I'd love to travel to Lagos only for the medical and then return when it's time for my Interview.

Results are usually ready after 7 working days. (I.e excluding sat and sun). So you can pick up any day after day 7. Pickup time: 2pm - 4pm.

This holds, if the so called recent development is actually false, else, we expect they send the report to the embassy.

So after the interview, it was extended for four months starting from the date of interview.(i.e if interview date: Jan16th, then petition expiration: may 16th.

There is no harm in sending a soft reminder on the issue. However, do note that they don't extend before the interview until after. Also print out all those reminders for your records. You may need to take them along with you on your interview date.

Secondly, my middle name was misspelt ( the last letter was omitted), is this a biggie? If it is, how do I go about rectifying it.

To print WhatsApp chats, go to the top right corner of your chat page and click on export chat. You can send it to your email and then download and print. I don't recommwnd you print everything unless if it just a few pages. What I did was to print a page of chat per month. i also screenshot those particular chats and printed as well.

You do it at Alagbon in Ikoyi. I paid 7k for it. The validity is 1 year. But 3 months is written on the cert.

Alagbon police station ,could cost 5-7k depending on who u meet and u can get it same day if there isn't rush or much work to do. If u go there ask for madam Rebecca room 43 she helped me u can also tip her after

You won't receive any email concerning NOA2. It is your fiance, not you, that filed the i129f petition.

I advice your fiance calls NVC after a week or so to confirm they've received your casefile. If tgey have, they will give her your casenumber. It should begin with the letters LGS... She should also provide your info and hers to them to update your casefile. The info include things like email address, phone number, date of birth, passport number. At this point, she can try to correct the mistake on your name. If they can't correct the name then it's the Embassy that would do it.

Correction can only be done at the Embassy after they've received your casefile. You guys will send them an email to effect the correction and attach your birth certificate along with passport datapage as evidence.

Thank you very much for the info boss, I cannot go on the deployment with her as it is for military personnel only, what we are hoping for is if either the 6months duration I have to stay in Nigeria after my visa can be extended, or the 90days for us to get married on getting to the US can be extended if by chance she doesn’t come back from the deployment on time. ( Though they’re supposed to be back by March, but the military can always change plans).

In other news, our case says “in transit” when I tracked it yesterday, so is it wise to pay the visa application fee and book an appointment now or just wait until it says “Ready”? I have already filled the DS160 form.

I don't think there's any need to request for any extension. If your medical report is done such that it is ready when your interview date is close, your visa will have a validity of over 5 months. So you can still remain in Nigeria till when the visa is almost expired after which you then travel to the States. When you enter the States, you'll have another 3 months of grace to get married. So, in effect, you have 5 + 3 months grace.

As regards booking appointment, you can wait till it says ready. Ideally you are supposed to wait until you get an email from the Embassy. If you wait, it means the interview date you'll likely get will spill into February or March. That's even more grace period for you. When is your petition expiring?

Yes a photocopy. You can even write a new commitment letter. Your fiancee can do as well and scan it to you.
