Nonsense. there is no data to support this. many dont know their status and many dont patronize hospitals especially government own for treatments. We re not in techy country where everything is documented.

This is where many of you get it wrong. You people think researches cover everyone in a population, but statistics has made up techniques to address differences in population by creating a sample size to represent the population of interest.

If sample size is 100 for Akwa Ibom, it would be 100 for Lagos as well. So, the percentages tell the whole story as far as the number of people sampled is concerned.

The prevalence rate of HIV in a sample size of a 100 people in Akwa Ibom is higher than in Lagos with the same sample size. So, there is a higher prevalence rate of HIV in Akwa Ibom than in Lagos.

But it is not mentioned anywhere in the post that that was what was done, which is my point - you can't just quote percentages without providing the context.

TroubleMaker47:

Actually % matters!
5% and 1% irrespective of their individual population would never bear the same risk!
The chances of getting infected in a region with 5% prevelance would always be 5X the chance of getting infected in a reguon of just 1%!!!

I never said percentages do not matter, I said percentages do not tell the whole story.

So, 2.6 million people has HIV in Lagos.
That is not correct. Lagos prevalence rate is 1.3% while Lagos population is approx 20 million. 1.3% of 20m is 260k not 2.6million.
Re: HIV Prevalence Rate In States In Nigeria 2019 By NACA by udemzyudex(m): 12:39pm On Nov 15, 2019
Calculate the percentage base on population.

Imagine Lagos with 1.3% if you calculate it you will know that it is even higher than some states on the list.

Please on the grouping by geopolitical zones, you will see that South-East is not the first, but its average exceeds the national average. It does not mean it is the most prevalent.

Please make that correction.

Rubbish! Lagos is 22% and Imo is highest in south east, how about the Kano and Sokoto prostitutes in hijab? Who ever believes this might as well have believed that buhari was the Messiah to rescue Nigeria in 2015. All northern states have least prevalences to play a religious card to ensure abokis continues to breed without condoms. All the abokis I have met in Lagos even my security bleeps ashawo without condom.

Exactly, and from the data give, we can draw this conclusion :the more Muslims are in a state, the less prevalent is HIV/AIDS. This makes Islam really a way of life.

I'm surprised you are denying the northern origin of Benue and Taraba because of some statistics on HIV.

But when it comes to political matters, you will boast of the North having 19 states, those two inclusive.

That's terrible.

The Sad Truth is That There are Cures For
Cancer
HIV/Aids
But Big Pharma will not make any money from the masses if there is no longer disease.
Think about the trillions made from pharmaceutical companies over decades and you think They want the world to be FREE FROM DISEASE Market go spoil for them..
They will go so far as to create disease in labs and produce drugs that will cure that disease then they target a 3rd world country and infest them with the disease and in turn make billions from selling drugs that will SUBDUE the disease but will not cure you completely.
So the patient will depend on the drugs and the vicious cycle begins.
The Super Elites are hiding the cures of these deadly illnesses. If they release the cure then 6 billion ppl on earth will no longer spend a dime on pharmaceutical drugs thereby making these Super Elites Wealth and Control to Decline..

There is no reason on earth to believe this. Statistics are not kept. The north is full of the largest population of poor people. They rarely go to hospital to get the medical care they need. Plus, it's a culture of silence. Your health is personal to you. If you know your status, forget stigma and get treated. The north have a great reputation for being chaste and hating immorality and alcohol. The reality, on za oza hand....

So, 2.6 million people has HIV in Lagos.

Your maths teacher did a really terrible job...

1.3% of 20.000.000{being the figure peddled around as Lagos' population} can never give you 2.6 million.

No way. Your result/answer should be in the region of 00,000s not 000,000s. Nothing more than that.
Re: HIV Prevalence Rate In States In Nigeria 2019 By NACA by StDonE(m): 1:21pm On Nov 15, 2019
The statistics is based on data collected from various partner hospitals. In the North they don't go to hospital and hence the assumption that they have lowest prevalence rate is wrong, like wise in the Southwest where they mostly medicate on herbs will equally make it near impossible to determine the correct figures.
