UdechiHD: Do you know that when you say my that anyone who calls for armed struggle should be dealt with, you are actually saying that people should be dealt with for 'talking'. We should be dealing with people on what they do, not what they say. Nnamdi Kanu and his group were never armed and didn't kill anyone. But you want them to be treated on the same level as those who are armed and killing people because of spoken words? That's crazy 2 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy:The current structure favours them because the south is divided. We're too divided and the north uses these loopholes to outsmart us. The two biggest tribes in the south are always at loggerheads. The British implanted this division among us and since then we ourselves keep doing things worse. Had the British not created a Western and Eastern region, do you think Azikiwe and Awolowo would have had that mistrust. A southern Nigeria with a unity of purpose would have had a Zik as Prime Minister and an Awolowo as a Premier of the south and not the other way round. Both working together as Herbert Macaulay had wanted. But because the British never wanted a progressive Nigeria they handed power to conservative and religious controlled north that would keep this country docile and stagnant. Today, the Yoruba man sees the Igbo man as an enemy and the Igbo man on the other hand is wary of the Yoruba's and don't want anything to do with them politically. Until the Yoruba and Igbo swallow their pride, and look for common uniting ground to work together this country will remain in northern hands. Imagine we had a southern patriot as President in the mould of Buhari of the north or an Awolowo of the NYM era of the 1930's the south would have held her destiny in her own hands. What this country need now to be free and progressive is a southern patriot that would unite the Igbo's, Yoruba's and all progressive ethnic group this contraption has held down. |

Gerald454:Biafra died in 1970. It was never an intention of Ojukwu or the eastern leaders to form a new country, it happened out of necessity. Ojukwu himself has repeated severally that Ndigbo should only retain the Biafra of the mind as a technological and intellectual struggle to achieve black emancipation and not the other way round. In his books and speeches, he has always informed Ndigbo to go into politics and fight for a better Nigeria as well as our rights instead of isolating ourselves. Ojukwu even led the way by contesting national elections and even went as far as forming a national party. Nnamdi Kanu on the other hand is simply a product of a failed society. Our country has failed us overtime and rather than challenge bad leadership and put an end to the status quo he derailed into more divisive approach. A better Nigeria where everyone is treated equally should be our fight and not secession. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Angelfrost:I don't believe in secession unless every means has been tried. Even at that the Yoruba's and Igbo's must work together to free this country from the conservative north. If despite their unity and understanding and things still fails, then let the inevitable happen. But when we are yet to explore all fields then secession is far pole that should not be touched. |

Amah70:Bad leadership have made us to see oil as the only alternative to a prosperous country. Every part of the country can survive without crude oil. Our grandfather survived in their different regions before the advent of oil and we can survive without it also. This country has abundant natural resources and human technical know how to grow but the failure of leadership has been our problem. The fair share of this failure comes from years of northern hegemony. |

UdechiHD: The core-north will never give anybody a restructured Nigeria cos the status quo favours them. Our only option is to agitate for independence, then when it shakes them so much, we can dialogue and settle for a restructured country based on our own terms. 1 Like 1 Share |
