Finally ......UNN has been the only school I knew off that it was easier for a Yoruba man , northerner or south south to get admission than an Igbo man

Had a friend from Edo who entered economics with 218 average ....why someone from IMO n anambra can't even get with 260

My Gombe neighbor got pharmacy with 235 while I know people from Igbo who got 270 n didn't get

If you are from bayelsa 260 can get u medicine but if you are from Igbo ...305 might not get you in

Felt it was messed up ...because unilag ,UI and OAU won't give Igbo's that treatment ,same with ABU or uni port

UNN model is the model all schools should follow

45% national merit ,40% state merits , 10%( staff kids, host community ,special case ) 5% ( well man know man

ABU respects merit more than UNN. JAMB even confirmed that.

hope they have abolished quota system also, because they have been looking for a way to flood southern universities with quota system alimajeries that scored 110 in jamb from educational less developed state.

I would appreciate if the president send memo to the national assembly with regard this abolishment. It is only then one would believe it. Without any law to this effect it will only be a mere audio abolishment.

ur ryt, o got admited in to UNN with low scores as a result of this policy, but i finshed with 2.1 while most of the guys with high scores were grappling with 2.2 and third class...in fact, the guy with d highest grade coudnt finish with us as a result of poor results. However, i like the govt new directive on this.

This is long over due. I remember applying for Mass Communication in ABu with 75 percent and still couldn't get admission (not even a sorry letter) as a result of catchment nonsense.

The policy that favours and gives preferential treatment to applicants from Educational less developed State should be equally scrapped. Monkey cannot be working for baboon to chop. Merit should be the only determinant of admission.

Why do you people lie with reposing comfort!
There is no provision for catchment area in UI. Though OAU, UNILAG, ABU and even UNN use catchment area as one of the basics for giving admission.

You're a liar!

A.B.U is the only university with a national outlook. It's still the only university with graduates from every local government in Nigeria.

UNN ? Not even a Muslim is easily considered.

It is like u don't understand what catchment area means. It is easier for Anambra indigenes to get admission into university of IMO than Yoruba man from Ekiti if following the rule of catchment area but what they used for Gombe indigene with 250 ahead of Easterners indigene is Federal characters which is the major problem we are facing as a nation. Until we abolished the federal character syndrome n give room to competency I don't think we will be grow as a nation.

I could remembered when i was seeking for admission into Fed university in my town, I scored 279 and I was not given admission n my friend from Edo state that scored 237 without no anybody was offered admission that is when I was tutored on federal character stuff

The President who was represented by the Deputy Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Suleiman Yusuf, therefore, directed all federal universities to ensure that every local government, all states, and all geopolitical zones are represented in their admission of the new entrance.

So even when they score lower, every LG must be represented and given admission.
