This is what I got from Leuven about the legalising of transcript.... Seems is not the school that will send it directly cause I have to legalise it... Please help me check the attach file..
@ i am not a guru, but i will advice that, if you have a copy of your transcript upload and send it to them, if you dont have access to it let ur school send it to them. They will accept it

Greetings to all the great members of this thread.

Am looking at applying for a Masters admission to few universities in Belgium and I would love to find out from all experience and successful members if the IELTS result is a compulsory factor when applying for admission or can the be waived for international applicants from Nigeria.

Also if it is compulsory, did you guys write the academic IELTS?

my apologies in advance if my question have been previously asked or if it did offend anyone. I would appreciate you kind response.

Thanks

There is student copy transcript.. signed by the issuing authority (in this case, the school who issued it) and just as you have said she would upload that.

Until you are requested to send hard copy of your credentials to them, you do not have to send it. If you send just transcript, you will still send other document later if requested for.

As it stands, your signed transcript from school should be uploaded as requested. This is asked in other to meet up with General school requirements. You may later be asked to send transcript directly from school to verify the one you uploaded online, this I believe is the second phase of admission process.

Normally, all official documents will be legalised before acceptance at the university. Even if you are not asked you still have to legalise it. If not it will become a problem during enrolment.

@ xtus, many schools in Belgium will exempt Nigerians graduates from Ielts, but you have to provide a letter from your previous university that English is the medium of instruction

Most European countries do not recognise Nigeria as an English speaking country due to our multi lingual ( different cultural Language) system. That is why we are always requested to present an English Test result. Although some school will accept letter of exemption if you have one from school or from Ministry of Education Abuja.

The stress is much for the exemption. Contact the school and inform them that you have done your bachelors in English and provide proof. You might be exempted from the English language requirement, if not, I will implore you to write the exam as it will be valuable in other things .. the result or certificate last for 2 years.

I THINK ONLY KU Leuven will ask for ielts. For the other Unis u can use an English language proficiency certificate issued by ur school. Stating that English was the language of instruction during ur bachelor degree programme.

Abeg make una help me brainstorm the matter

Thanks all

Re: Anyone Studying In Belgium? by konja44: 7:11pm On Nov 15, 2019
Normally schools here aim at students with at least 2nd class Upper. However some times they admit 2nd class lower. It depends on the university.

How are jobs in Belgium?

Only for mgt courses and it’s a bit expensive.. your sponsor can be a Nigerian if he or she earns above 800k per month as a worker. With proof of payslips...

Hello PweedyDaughter,

As touching the email attachment from KU Leuven you uploaded. I assume you requested an information about transcript right? Well, the email said it’s suffice(enough) to upload a copy of your transcript in pdf when applying for admission.

I’ll advice that you check the school website or contact the admin via email for genuine information. I know we all are trying to help here, but people have a way of posting misleading informations.

Note: KU Leuven strictly operates online application and its only on exceptional cases they’d request that you send hard copies to them(KU Leuven). Also, you don’t have to legalise your documents when applying for the admission(I’m speaking of KU Leuven). You can go on their website or send an email to them to confirm the information I’ve just given.

Blessings.

Hello Bro,
Happy weekend, your informations are correct and on point.. but I do feel your method of expression is attacking and sounds a bit weird to me, from your previous comment I realised you made mention of being careful because of misleading information, again you re-iterated it. Am speaking on behalf of those that I personally know. Nobody has given false or misleading information here.. you can either correct a wrong statement or support a statement.. but don’t try to make efforts of others to give support or information look worthless..

I personally went through phases of admission processes not just for Ugent or KuLeuven but also ThomasMore, so basically every info are based on my experience..

No schools here ask for hard copies except after the admission has gotten to that stage.. so if hard copies are requested, they ( school) will inform the intending student on what to do.. and for a foreign document to be accepted out of its issued country, it must be legalised.. for it to be recognised as official.

Back to your response to pweedydaughter.. what you have said is not different from what the first responder has said not does it have different meaning to mine... ways of expressing them is just different.. UPLOAD TRANSCRIPT FROM SCHOOL WAS WHAT EACH OF US SAID..

No one has told her to do otherwise.

Kind regards

I just got admission to study International Development in University of Kent in Belgium. School resumes on the 13th of January 2020. I am so worried because I am just on the Embassy legalization stage tho the ministries have legalized my documents. Will it be possible to get my visa before school resumes and is there any Nigerian Student School there at the moment that I can relate with ?

It depends bro. We usually find it difficult to discuss this online. We always wish study is main purpose and any money earn is just an added advantage. but believe me when I say you can survive as we are all surviving. Every student that wants to work gets to work but with limited hours.

Am sorry if I am unable to give you straight forward answer. You can send me PM. I will explain better.

Kind regards,

It is possible with university of Kent. Note that this institution is an international institution with many campus and one happen to be in Belgium. So their programme or school calendar maybe different from the normal universities here in Belgium.

Yeah bro.. you are right...
Term 2... I think if you have your timetable and letter of admission that states the starting date of your program.. The embassy will answer you on time.. I have seen two cases of such.

Just get the right document from the school.. perhaps you can ask the school when you can enrol(a date will be suitable).
