What is the big deal about this? Is Jamb an English man? Jamb is a Nigerian.
Mama Patience can bear me witness.

No big deal. Foreigners don't kill themselves over not being able to speak or write our own languages correctly.

Besides first class graduates makes mistakes too!

The Twitter Handler really Needs to Take Jamb Again

Maybe another snake swallowed their sense of grammar
Anyway, our Oga at the top has been told by his Chief Judge that affidavits are the same as a certificate to ruin our country. So what else?

That was a massive grammatical mistake angry
Court's verdict: Jamb has failed UTME.

"Send your ticket for me to confirm" cheesy The sentence is wordy. Just as one of the Twitter users pointed out, "Send your ticket for confirmation" could have been better.

Nigerians and "am" instead of "I'm."

Lol, a lot of Nigerians make that mistake.
A professor made that mistake recently in his Facebook post. I almost called him out.

There is this other word that Nigerians also spell wrongly. "Quiet". I see a lot of people spelling it as "Quite".

"send your ticket number for confirmation" sounds nice instead of what was written

You are also at the level with the Twitter handler, using "am" instead of "I am".

Teacher don't teach me nonsense!

this rule does not apply to an educational organization such as JAMB

Even in corporate organizations, they can not exercise the rule of "English is not our language"...English is our language of communication, as far as Nigeria is concerned, it is the lingua franca and the language of business. Whoever handles the social media of educational organizations like JAMB should be able to communicate in FORMAL English. This is not the Twitter handle for some random Daniel from Ikotun.

Stop endorsing mediocrity

It is good to avoid abbreviation in official communication. With that strategy and standard of communication blunder like this might be avoided. Very unfortunate, query, redeployment if not loss of job.

I keep telling people that English is our lingua franca but they don't even know what lingua franca is. Nigerians are the more you look the less you see.

it is time Nigeria education system move away from grammerian education into technical and vocational education. who English help? , the Asia tigers ( Singapore, south Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan) are all great today as result of the later not the former . if I am to make a decision , maths and science should be made compulsory instead of maths and English. English should go back to the optional list. what we need is simply basic understanding .
